Try chemical peeling . I suffered from 3rd degree acne as a teenager. It was only after I got chemical peeling done it reduced significantly . Except for a few scars my face is pretty much clear.
I don't have pimple problems but I do have a bit of a problem with blackheads on my nose. Any suggestions?
I've been using proactive for a few months now, it seems to have worked wonders after years of acne. If you have the money, I would recommend it. It can be pricey, though. The biggest part of proactive is benzoyl peroxide, which I think is in the third step. You would probably do well just using that if you didn't want to do the whole shebang.
I think acne is a stress thing iirc. More stress = more acne.
I don't know if anyone else had the same situation as me but a few years ago I found out that my main culprit for causing acne was shaving with a regular razor. I would always accompany that with either non-comedogenic aftershave or straight up facial moisturizer. Yet I would still get pimples. It was a combination of ingrown hair and acne, there was way more acne afterwards though. I would never touch my face and always kept my pillows and towels fresh. A friend recommended me to try just trimming my facial hair with an electronic trimmer and even though my face wasn't totally bare it still looked nice and cleanly shaved. Lo and behold my acne began to fade away over a few weeks until it was near completely gone.
Also just jumping in on the discussion about Accutane, don't use it. Unless you have acne that severely impacts your day to day life don't risk the potential health complications that it may cause. I've had several high school friends use it a few years ago and to most it brought nothing but misery and they stopped taking it. It worked like a charm for some with only mild side effects, but god help you if you end up dealing with the bad ones.
Are there milder alternatives to Accutane for oily skin?
