Work on the value of your shades, the subtle change of colors for shading makes the ships seem 'flat', making darker/more saturated colors for the shades gives it pop and dimension. And for the style that you seem to be going for, the ships look more simplistic than they should be.

Well, at least you got rid of the lines I guess. You're further developing the same style (which is dumb because as we covered before, you shouldn't have started with a style) to look better, and you're succeeding at that.

You serious? His stuff is miles better than almost everything in this thread. I'm sick of this "DON'T START WITH A STYLE!!!" bullshit. You don't have to be an anatomy guru to make likeable art and if you disagree you're just covering your ears and going LALALALALALALALAALA. Just start wherever the fuck you want and see where it takes you. To be a great artist you just have to be prolific and experiment; beyond that just do what you enjoy.

Are you serious? My main issue with Rety's art is that it's always the same style, he never experiments. Which is why I liked it when I saw that he stopped using lineart, which is progress.

Yeah I agree with you here. He could definitely experiment a bit more. My tirade was more at people saying you shouldn't start off with a style in mind; I don't really see anything wrong with it if it's working for you.
