Oh, you silly fans and your optimism. Gamzee's practically unstoppable, and he obviously lives up to the end of the mysterious countdown. He's not going to die any time soon, and it's safe to say that he's probably going to kill off everyone and what ole' Gamzee is admiring is his mural painted with the blood of all of the trolls. All of them.

It really doesn't help all this that on Andrew's formsprings he calls Equius a gag character only and the fact that giving him a heroic death wouldn't fit with his character.

Saw the update and laughed at Equius's happy dead face. Then I felt bad.

I gotta say, if one of your main characters (one of the main 16 or so, but still) is regarded as a single note 1-dimensional gag character, then that's some pretty shitty plot development there. Hell, Gamzee was way more of a gag character and we see where he got taken with that.

What Andrew says here is extremely annoying to me. [url]http://www.formspring.me/mspadventures/q/158879977301894344[/url] He is taking these minor characters flaws and magnifying them 1000% fold. There was no clue up to the point where Eridan murdered that he would kill Kanaya and Feferi. Then suddenly Andrew brings out the genocide complex as an excuse? Okay, but we had been led to believe that he would never hurt his friends the entire story and now his "genocide complex" will let him murder them without pause? Not to mention that Eridan and Gamzee were both far more minor characters with less plot importance then Equius, but nope apparently horse porn made him an irredeemable gag character. (Despite the fact that you could replace horse porn with something for almost every character and it would be just as applicable.)

The most annoying part of it was that there was actually some development right before he got offed, showing more of the morial (can't remember sp) relationship with Nepeta and it was rendered moot by what followed. Now that I think about it, I cared a lot more about Equius's death than I did Feferi's. Equius was actually a somewhat interesting character, really weird and freaky but earnest and seemingly nice. Feferi was just... there, always as a foil or complement to someone else (Eridan or Sollux) and she was always annoying to me. How she was written and her writing/speaking quirk made her feel like an unimportant/single note character too. e: and him writing it off as a joke character always meant to play a gag role just seems like an excuse to me, kind of. There was room for more character development and it obviously could have happened but he just locked him into the pointless role of a joke.
