When Gamzee ran out of sopor slime for his pies his personality split to its component selves, and both are evil. They caused Gamzee to remember that he's the last descendant of the subjugglators, and it's now his job to cull the rest of the trolls by killing them all and painting a mural with their blood. Karkat is freaking out over this and not Eridan because he still thinks that Eridan is a tool, and that Gamzee is actively hunting Karkat, not Eridan. He fears for his life because of what he knows the Bard of Rage is capable of, and now he has the mindset to do what he did to the Black King to his friends.

I'm at a loss for words. I don't even want to check his formspring because it looks like he's being really pretentious about the whole thing and I'm already doing my best to keep from flying into utter PISS RAGE.
Worst part was that I actually started to doubt myself in deciding not to read Homestuck anymore. I conceded that I was probably being bitchy about a minor part of the story and was assured that Hussie was returning to the funny stuff that he's actually good at writing. I gave Hussie and Homestuck the benefit of the doubt and got kicked in the teeth for it. I feel like a fucking idiot now for doing that.

Aradia's time powers have to matter. Killing Equius is one thing but Aradia always was one of the more important parts of the trolls' session; Making her god-tier is something that should qualify her as a doubleplusimportant person.

I love how Homestuck has probably one of the grossest over reactions I have ever seen from the fanbase. The story isn't even done yet and people are still making wild assumptions on everything and planning to quit the story just because it's going in the direction the author wants it to go. Even worse is people are getting mad at how he responds to user feedback, even though we've KNOWN he responds like this all the time.
I've never read a book that I liked and then stopped reading when a favorite character died or changed dramatically, nor with a game for that matter. Really the only reason al ot of you are getting so pissed at it is that it's not all laid out there for you at once, so you can't easily just keep going to see what happens next, you have to wait. It works much differently psychologically for this reason.
If he's able to make everything work well in the course of 2 years, I'm pretty sure he's not gonna magically stop being able to do so. He WILL RETURN to the funny stuff of course, but in good time. It wouldn't be proper to end a whole arc in 2 panels, it has to run it's course.
And because I can't think of a proper way to end this rant, I will use a quote I've loved that I think applies very well here. Points for you if you recognize it.

I think everyone is forgetting that there doesn't have to be any deeper meaning, no triumph over evil, and no conquest of one's personal demons. It's a comic with dark humor. Sometimes people will give in to their fatal flaws. Sometimes people will die in dishonor and ignominy. Our minds have been trained in media, I think, to see the best in people.
Equius died a dishonorable death (though I myself argue against it in an earlier post). Hussie confirmed this was his intention. I'm disappointed, but I understand. When you're writing something like a comic, there doesn't have to be a real reason. There will be happy works, and there will be sad works. As was once said in another comic I like quite a bit:

I'm sad Equius was not one of those destined for redemption, but I don't think it's a reason to dislike or give up on Homestuck. In fact, I really like the fact that Hussie at least gave him and Nepeta a quality walkaround (explicitly the two of them only) before his death. That's a lot more than Feferi or Tavros got, though they had more screentime. It really softens the blow to at least get that bone thrown to us, in my opinion.
However, by the same token, I also think it's foolish to say that Equius died simply because he was a coward, or solely he was too fetishistic. He obviously had a lot more going on than just wanting to get off on a clown killing him, even if it was a contributing factor.
Seriously Andrew end the comic soon. Just glanced at his forum spring and jesus he no longer sounds like that sheepish guy who's always underplaying his own comic as a hobby, but now he just sounds like a total dick about it, and as many have explained he's kind of loosing where he wanted to go with this. The sudden murder of a ton of characters with almost no pacing, him saying Equius is expendable because he's a gag character and failing to realize that's what Gamzee and Eridan were is just... depressing.
I respect him for making it this far but his attitude is really fucking off putting

I would agree if that wasn't how he's ALWAYS responded to negative user feedback. Remember when everyone would get mad when he tried a new art style and it looked shitty? His response was always along the lines of a "Fuck you" and he kept doing it. He does it all the time.
He would be much more of a dick if he didn't explain his reasoning for it, but he always does. It doesn't make sense to everyone of course, but it makes sense to him why he does it, and as the author that's really who it all needs to make sense to.
I wonder if his title granted him any powers. Heir of Void? It doesn't really sound like a particularly useful title, while everyone else has had something to do with their titles, except for Tavros because Vriska took command of his time in their session and he never got around to doing his own quest for very long.

Equius would of died, and he wouldn't of just rolled over, Gamzee would of been cemented as a threat as he just [i]fucking clubbed the strongest character[/i] and Nepeta would be horrified that the STRONGEST member just got the shit kicked out of him.

The only reason I don't like the way Andrew has been responding to people is because he's gone from making joke answers to responding with his to actively insulting people Snark is fine but the way Andrew is handling his fan reactions just seem wrong.

Does anybody think there's a chance that Homestuck will end and then have an epilogue, where the curtains are pulled open again and all the characters receive applause and it turns out to be a school play after all? It'd be a pretty interesting twist, IMO. I thought of it while rereading homestuck and seeing the curtains being pulled open/closed after/at the beginning of each act. Just an interesting thought I wanted to throw out here.
