It works much differently psychologically for this reason.
If he's able to make everything work well in the course of 2 years, I'm pretty sure he's not gonna magically stop being able to do so. He WILL RETURN to the funny stuff of course, but in good time. It wouldn't be proper to end a whole arc in 2 panels, it has to run it's course.
And because I can't think of a proper way to end this rant, I will use a quote I've loved that I think applies very well here. Points for you if you recognize it.

It's a bit of a stretch, but perhaps Aradia somehow saved Equius's dreamself from Derse's destruction. I doubt it, because his death was presented as fitting to the man who was obsessed with the blood-dominance of their caste system, but the possibility presents itself.

I more like to think that Jack will take one look at him, then stab him or something. Really, he has all the power he could want, and more. What would he need with some hipster wizzard? And if his goal where to erradicate the rest of the trolls, why didn't he do it while he was in the lab? Now that I think of it, Eridan my have an underlying meaning as to why he wants to join Jack. Maybe he's trying to take him on himself, maybe catch him off guard? When he really trusts him, or thinks he does. Maybe he thinks that if he destroys Jack by himself, he'll get all the matesprits, all of them.

At the moment Hussie puts it on public space and a reader reads it, an two way deal is sealed.
Hussie gains right to claim the eventual recognition and fame for his work, while everyone who reads it gains the right to criticize. The critics don't have to be fair, but also nobody has to listen to them. Everyone who reads it still has the right to state his opinion.
Hussie would apparently like an audience of robots sitting through the whole thing, clapping mechanically every time the the curtain drops.
He apparently thinks both ends of this deal are in his hands. He claims the recognition, while doesn't want people to criticize him for it. If he didn't want this deal, he could release anonymously. He claims the spoils of his work, so he should also take the the responsibility and be ready for criticism.
