Well, we know that Eridan is the most xenophobic of all the trolls, as he was a part of a society that wanted one of Vriska's doomsday machines to kill off all the land-dwelling trolls. He cares the most about the homeospectrum, and lost in a fight to a land-dwelling troll with one of the lowest blood colors possible. He's also tried repeatedly to change his relationship with Feferi from moirallegiance to matespritship and lost his moirail when Feferi entered the Medium, not gaining anything in return. He considers both himself and Feferi royalty, and when he saw the highest-blooded troll socializing and treating one of the lowest-blooded as he wanted to be treated, plus that very same troll is the one who defeated him in combat, he probably considered Feferi to be unworthy to bear the blood in her veins and executed her for heresy.
Feferi considered them all as equals and didn't care about the homeospectrum, but Eridan took it as radically as possible.

he came to give feferi a chance to (as he saw it) save herself by coming with him to jack, but sollux and feferi tried to stop him. He beat sollux in a duel, fair and square, but when feferi got pissed and attacked he decided he had had enough and just killed her
