The weird part is that as far as underdeveloped characters go, the two that have gotten permakilled are still better developed than the ones that haven't. They're not as well developed as the patron trolls, but they're waaaaaay better developed than Sollux and the three "missing" trolls. I guess it's implied Gamzee's role will become bigger in the future, and Sollux is starting to get some time in the spotlight, but then you have the other two who have done fuck all this entire time and don't appear to be in any immediate danger.

Exactly.
Nepeta and Equius come to mind as two characters that haven't really been developed whatsoever beyond the most blatant personality traits and pesterlog quirks.

After I stood there for a while the rain of arrows came, and I was hit and about immobilized, then after I had been there for a while, bleeding quite badly, this massive arrow launched from the forteress and landed next to me, and I was thinking among the lines of 'Hah can't even aim', when the perspective very weirdly (felt very odd) changed to Nepeta sobbing on Equius' back, then flinching when it exploded. Then they walked quietly for a short while, until they got to the river thing that was divided into three, when some guards came from behind them, and after Equius started running I woke up...[/quote]

In the alternate timeline where John died he died before creating himself and his friends, so they weren't created, but they did exist anyway. Is that a plothole or is that supposed to be that way

They existed because they were created already (because they existed) but John wasn't there to create them so that was one of the things that made it a non-alpha timeline, which are doomed to be destroyed, so after four months of that bullshit AlternateFutureDave (of that timeline), went back in time and stopped John from dying, which ensured that it was the Alpha timeline and the kids were made, and so on...
I don't know I just go with it.

Wait, that's true. That's the real definition of doomed timeline. It's an offspring of the main timeline, caused by what Terezi did. Kids within it aren't supposed to exist, as they failed to get themselves to get created, so they are doomed.
