Wait wait wait, what if this Eridan thing only escalates, and he kills a shit ton more trolls, but is killed by the kids or Noir or something, and Gamzee is like the only one alive and his mystery power enables him to rewind time or ressurect or some shit, saving the majority of the troll's lives and allowing their race to continue through the matriorb?
Sounds like his role as "most important homestuck character" would be pretty fitting if that ends up happening, but at this point it seems way too optimistic for the direction the storyline took a turn for.
Kanaya wasn't that great in my opinion, but damn, that was pretty much the last hope for their entire species. Good fucking job Eridan.
And yet the only things I can think of are what the fuck Karkat is doing, and what that countdown is counting down to.

With Gamzee's completely and utterly mysterious upcoming plot twist there's pretty much no way it's not going to be a deus ex machine of some degree.

Okay, seriously, what the hell man. I don't even care about fictional characters in webcomics, but jesus man this is just some bad storytelling. Killing a few characters is one thing, but killing nearly half a cast of characters and removing a essential plot piece? That's just waaaaaay out there.
I foresee either two things happening,
a.) Supreme deus ex machina in the form of a doomed timeline or Aradia saving everyone by reversing time
b.) This whole thing just being one giant troll fest to get everybody crazy.
I have a feeling it'll be the former.
