Yes because creating a frog god that becomes a universe makes sense.
It makes enough sense given the context. They're reverse-breeding an animal that is known to become a universe. It would be like creating a First Guardian; they make no sense at all, but their origin story sounds plausible. I was always under the impression that Skaia adopted the changes caused by prototyping, and it was used up in the Ultimate Alchemy to create the new universe, as Skaia was called "unlimited creative potential". It made sense given the information available, and seemed rather impressive that the object that the kingdoms' eternal war is over would have been an unfinished universe. Now we have the known method of creating the new universe, by creating the Speaker of the Vast Croak, or as the trolls called him, Billious Slick. Ectobiology is used, and frogs from around the worlds are used to engineer him. They are creating a god in the same way they created the demigod First Guardians, and makes sense given this information. It's also probably less impressive to me because I had an expectation about what was going to happen and Hussie chose a different path that failed to live up to my expectations. But oh well.
homestuck is serious business

It does serve as the plane of awakening for players who choose to ascend into God status. The dream clouds are important too. I love how just back at the end of Act 4 we knew so little, and now we are already talking about navigating the furthest fucking ring.

After reading the update, all I could think was, "And then Slick was universe." Things are starting to get deeper into weird plot shit.
I feel shitty reading this thread because everyone has a firm grasp on the storyline while I just pray for a recap.
I feel shitty reading this thread because everyone has a firm grasp on the storyline while I just pray for a recap.
All you need to do is ask and we can explain.
I hope he retcons this last update. Even by homestuck standards this is a stupid plot point. Disagree all you want, but it just sounds really *really* dumb and unimpressive by any standards.
Disagree all you want
And so we shall. Ridiculousness is the bread-and-butter of Homestuck, and if this is over-the-top for some people then how did they survive the last 2 or so Acts? Seriously.
All you need to do is ask and we can explain.
Okay so sorry if some of what I say is painfully obvious or not answered yet. So is the timer from "http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=005198" the same timer from "http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=005119" ? Is it some weird time shit going on? or is it a completely new timer all together? And who is this Billious Slick character? Has he been mentioned previously, or was he just crowbar'd in recently?
So, is Bilious Slick Lord English? Maybe that's a bit of a stretch, since the Black Queen would hate him no matter what and wouldn't really work under him, but I think it's an interesting possibility.
Isn't Bilious Slick Lord English's arch nemesis?

The timer is assumed to be the same one I guess.

Billious Slick is the The Speaker Of The Vast Croak, I don't remember when the name was said but it was mentioned before.

Andrews introducing so many big things that at this point none of them are really sounding that cool
So if the universe is a frog, what part of the frog are we in
http://www.formspring.me/mspadventures/q/2213658548 I love Andrew so damn much.
Just finished Problem Sleuth, the ending was great.
Just finished Problem Sleuth, the ending was great.
I reread it this week with some friends. It shows how hilarious Andrew can be.

It's not really a shocking development to find out that a special frog is necessary to win the game.

But that's besides the point. I think Kanaya was just making a figure of speech when she said "The Frog Is Your Universe", in that the frog is just really integral to kicking off the start of the new universe. Also the "Speaker of the Vast Croak" is a callback to the Vast Glub (Feferi's Lusus) which was responsible for the galaxy-wide extinction of the troll species. One caused the end, while the other will cause the beginning. Of course this is still all completely silly.

There's the greensun.gif that, is explained but I'd like more focus on it The vast glub, which happened The scratch which is about to happen etc etc and just adding The vast croak seems to be overdoing it a bit, I kinda want him to well, wrap up at least one or two ends before introducing another huge event
-Decided this might fit better in another thread.-
Do remember that he planned so that in Act 5 shit will be started, Act 6 shit will hapen, and in Act 7 it will be wrapped up. Or in Act 5 shit will hapen, Act 6 will wrap stuff up and in Act 7 will be a prologue. Forgot which it was....
Makes me wonder what the volcano has to do with the breeding now. Probably has some sort of gene splicer in it or something. Or it acts as a swimming pool for the growing frogs.

He apparently wanted it for some reason. While each Denizen seems unspeakably evil, Hephaestus doesn't seem like that bad of a guy. He got pissed at Dave for breaking his sword, and Future Dave somehow got the code for Fear No Anvil from him, so I wonder what Dave's Denizen is really like. [editline]20th January 2011[/editline] Also, update
I hope Jade gets to talk to Gamzee, becoming multicultural with him would be amusing.
