This isn't a case of 'doing it for the UK and not for the US', it's just that cinemas in the UK have purchased prints to show in their cinemas. They have gone and asked Universal to do this. US cinemas HAVEN'T. It's nobody's fault. Maybe you should ask your cinema chains (I don't know who you have over there) if they have any plans to show it.
