I watched the original in Toronto, does not need to be remade.

Aaand his point still stands.
The Halloween remake was beyond awful.
This is not a remake. This has been in production since before the original film.
And inb4 "That makes no sense!" - it's based off a book.
Dumbing it down? Read the fucking OP, maybe. And "If it isn't broken, don't fix it" is easily one of the least-accurate adages in the history of adages.
'For a wider audience'.
How else can that be taken?
I'll be willing to give this film the benefit of the doubt if they keep that twist at the end intact.
God fucking damn it. Now all of the dumb fucking Twilight fans are going to watch it. Fuck.
you're just saying that
No, seriously. What is so great about Scarface? I was bored to tears watching it.
They're going to fuck this up and then they're going to go ahead and fuck up The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
What the... they're remaking The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as well?
God damn it.

The Halloween remakes were terrible and generic.
Holy crap.
I loved them.
Also, the children actors in the remake are vastly less adorable than the original two.

Why? It was more of Rob Zombie doing dysfunctional family and over-the-top gore/horror movies. It worked for House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects because that was somewhat original, but it stopped being cute after that.
I found Halloween II really good. But the first remake wasn't good.
I liked the second cause it was nothing like Halloween and more of Rob Zombie's own film. And it was fucking brutal. Like I've never been bothered by a movie before until that movie.

Also, Let Me In is a stupid name. But so was Let the Right One In - only because it applies nothing to the movie.

Oh, Let the Right One In is from a Morrisey song.
I hope they don't change the ending too much.
Ending made the film.
3 years is way to fucking early to do a remake of a movie. especially when it's a masterpiece like Let the Right One In.

Why did your avatar zoom in
Kinda OT but the woman who gets bitten is the woman in my avatar. (In the original that is)

I'm confused by this statement. The Halloween remakes didn't have over-the-top gore.
But, I liked it because it did a great job of updating Halloween. I mean, the original wasn't meant to become the legendary film it is today, but it did. It's no Citizen Kaine, but it was good. And the remake was good too because, in my opinion, it projected the core of Halloween while letting Rob Zombie project his own style on it.
Plus the way they made the mask all dirty and stuff instead of perfectly clean was really cool.

the only good part of the halloween remake was the first half, when he was a kid. that part was really interesting, to see the psychopath as a child. the rest sucked.

Oh for fucks sake.
They changed the names? Oh, hell no.
Oskar and Eli are WAAAY better names than Owen and Abby for those characters.
Honestly, I don't think it'll be as good as Let the Right One In.
But Owen and Abby are more American. We have to appeal to wider audiences, don't we?

Great...
Eh, Matt Reeves made Cloverfield, so don't expect any disappointment.
