Haven't heard from Kelao in a while, he did a lot of converting for the 1337surf clan I used to play on before it disbanded. Isn't too shabby at surfing either. [editline]26th March 2012[/editline] Aren't KSF's servers based in America or am I thinking of another group? I'm not a big fan of surfing/bhop with high ping
player movement is decided client side and is then verified server side, there isnt really any problem with this server and koreans with 300+ ping have managed to get world records and the like. if you get lag you can just do !hide which removes other players and most importantly the server doesn't send you movement data for those players, which gives you more fps!
Anyone saying Surfing is dumb, it's not. It's black magic of the darkest kind.
Surf is one of the best thing in source games imo. In CS:GO, it would be better since there will be new textures and maps will look epic. If someone played a bhop map bhop_exodus, Imagine that map in CS : GO (this is bhop but same counts for surf.)
The whole point of Jailbreak though is to go CT and freekill everyone who has the voice of a 10-year old.

I got to know him back when he and Panzer ran the "final destination" surf server on TF2. Panzer just goes to css bhop servers now and Kelao is mostly on some VDL clan surf server whenever he's on TF2. And KSF is located in the US iirc. Im on there sometimes, though I still suck at skill-surf.
doesn't work that way at all they've literally rewritten the movement code [editline]24th March 2012[/editline] And nah, I'm glad they've changed the movement code for this game specifically to kill off these things. I'll tell you what should have happened by now, though. A group of modders should have come around and themed and entire new game off the concept of "surfing" in Source games. You keep the original "feel" of surfing (the movement style and controls), but do something like drop in a "futuristic" environment like a strangely designed city and use that as the foundation for levels. Instead of players' animations awkwardly stuck in stand-stance, introduce something like suits that allow humans to wall-ride at super fast speeds, or give them rollerblade-esque footwear to justify being able to accelerate at such speeds and maneuver in the way they do. Keep the multiplayer gamemode "surf" available for old Source players, but introduce new things like tricks, being able to flip or something of that sort every time you gain air. Keep in weaponry if you're killing off people while surfing. This is the type of road this sort of gameplay needs to take. It shouldn't be forever awkwardly injected into a game where it doesn't belong other than due to movement code in CS, and stock Source code allowing for it. [editline]24th March 2012[/editline] It reminds me of people using Infiniminer to build which wasn't what it was designed for at all, and then Minecraft came along.
You are a beautiful and brilliant boy
hey uh i am a surf mapper (surf_the_distance surf_christmas surf_fruits surf_vegetables surf_1day surf_ghost_busters and many more) and i can safely say that sv_airaccelerate is in csgo you'll just have to sm_cvar it when sm gets released for it
Oh god, the man responsible for the hours of torment for such a bad surfer as I in surf_fruits I shall never be able to wrap my head around this sub-gamemode v:v:v
I love watching skilled surfing videos, but not necessarily attempting to actually surf. Advanced jumping feels like a pre-made linear arcade game compared to surfing. The ridiculously unconventional feel of it makes me clench my butt cheeks together.
I think I've played surf more on CS than actual gameplay. It'll be one of the only reasons I get CS:GO, aside from Zombie Mod and Gun Game / "Arsenal Mode".
or this
I miss Urban Terror :(
Personally, if they find a way to kill off surfing and bhopping in cs:go just like they tried killing off bhopping in CSS(Almost at least), Its basically saying fuck you to a group in the games community, I only play Bhop and occasionally surf and rarely the game itself which is ironic to say the least, but really, there's just gonna be plugins to allow the said gamemode like surf and bhop into cs:go, just like how mpbhop was made, and other stuff so I'm not generally worried about these gamemodes dying off in cs:go.
I meant the default system, right now you can't bhop online or anything without changes, unlike source and 1.6.
well you cant bhop competitively in css anymore so not gonna happen
well you cant bhop competitively in css anymore so not gonna happen
Yeah but you can at least maintain your speed in css. Unlike cs:go where you jump 3 times and apparently someone attaches a car to both your legs.
