Now that I'm out of high school, my biggest regret next to not trying very hard was not joining drumline.
I don't know much about marching bands, but the Jazz band i'm in beat one once.
I found the site where I believe my band director orders most of his music. Cool thing is, they have recordings for most the music. http://arrangerspublishingcompany.com/marching.php?page=6&alpha=d Go to M860 Holiday. It's the second Holiday you see, that's one of the songs we're playing. Has a fun bass line for us tuba players. :D
Opener and ballad of last year, horrible audio I know its the copy they give the directors. Closer from last year at the homecoming game I believe. Now in even worse quality!
This is the end of our season, as we compete on a tour basis for roughly the first half of summer, around the midwest... anyways, links to old shows as yt vids, I present: Oregon Marching Band: Shadow Armada [from Oregon, WI] 2008-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cknFfAj57jc 2009-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3BQG8p59zM&feature=channel_page Have fun, both great shows :)
We're doing Aerosmith. 1. Sweet Emotion/Ragdoll/Love In An Elevator 2. Dude Looks Like A Lady 3. Walk This Way Band camp starts tomorrow.
We are doing James bond Band camp starts monday i think
I got done with my band camp on the 1st. That was tough. My back was hurtin a bit, but I'm fine now. Bein a tuba player, gotta love it.
As a short freshman on the battery (one of two snares), band is pretty frantic and challenging for me. Apparently this is show is pretty tough show we are doing, so I guess that doesn't help. http://www.keypoulan.com/admin/view_marching_original.php?id=30 Our band is pretty small compared to others with 70 people give or take 10.
The year before my freshmen year (I am now a Junior), our band roughly had around 45 people in it. Now it has about 120. Our battery consists of 3 snares, 2 tenors, and 6 basses. We also have 7 tuba players! I love it.
I'm mostly afraid of falling down during a show, because I have to go as fast as I possibly can in every direction. Sometimes I take an extra half step because the snare and harness weighs 20lbs and I only weigh around 107. (And I'm not athletic at all. Drumming is my only real physical activity other than a 1.5 or so mile walk home every day.)

My schools band has about 40 people
July 27 is an early start? We start around the beginning of May every year.
We just did our first halftime show on friday, Gilmer vs. Fannin. Our football team sucked, like always, but our band really owned fannin. Even when fannin has about 125 in their band, and we with only 95 or so, we are still quite louder. But both bands did a good job, i'll say.

I'm in Collins Hill and I think I've sen you guys a couple of times and if I'm not mistaken usually place higher than us in finals :P. If so are you guys doing BOA Atlanta? Also, band had about 220 people last year and I think about the same this year. We're only going to locals and BOA Atlanta this year though due to budget. Our 2007 show that won us 5th at BOA St.Petersberg and an 80.6 for the score :D
our show is based off the Mexican opera "Carmen", it sounds awesome yea i play trombone, and our band is huge, over 600 people.....
Not sure what the name of the show is, but we're playing Overture to Candide Make our Garden Grow Candide Suite Go lassiter?
This year at Texas Tech our first show is the Planets Suite from Gustav Holst. Plus we have 500 people... so... yeah
Not sure what the name of the show is, but we're playing Overture to Candide Make our Garden Grow Candide Suite Go lassiter?
Guess I'll be seeing your band in a few weeks then. If you mean Lassiter Georgia.
We just got done with our first football game. We lost 17 to 19. We were going to kick a field goal with only 15 seconds left, to try and win. The kicked pretty much failed, felt bad for him. But on a brighter note, the band is bigger this year. We got 7 sousaphones, 6 are easy to spot, but there is a bell hiding on the right side. We are all sitting down, plus he is only around 5 feet tall. Here is a small shot of a part of our sousa-line. I'm the middle sousaphone.
We're playing "Thundercloud" By T.C. Powell. It's a pretty good march, but challenging because of the high notes on the trumpet part.
I quit. It's my senior year, and I'm fed up.
Enjoi, if you are on the drumline, you should watch these 2 videos. These guys are amazing. Don't forget to HQ! USC Drumline Cadence 05 USC Orgasm 05 (This is fucking amazing)
Haha oh shit is that a watered down SVC Electric Wheelchair? Oh I think it is. USC sucks, as do almost all college lines. [editline]04:43AM[/editline] Also everyone knows that the most rocking warm up ever is the SVC Double Beat and The Ditty Double Beat: The Ditty
