Properly Citing Sources - General

It would be easier to standardize it across the board, but it seems each discipline needs to have their own. Honestly I wish nowadays they would just place a citation at the end of reports and books. Some of the articles in the databases my university provides does this already- it saves a lot of time. If the rest did that it would, I imagine, make things a lot easier for people to cite on reports and what not. As for Facepunch though, I don't think people should do that- just provide a link or whatever if you're going to make a claim. Honestly though I don't think we can expect that level of discussion on a general forum anyways. Most of the science threads here end up pretty much as "OMFG SCIENCE IS AWSUM@!!!!11 :kamina:" type posts.
