Canadian English is the best because we spell things properly, I mean seriously.
It's:
Arm Our, not Arm Or
Col Our, not Col Or
Hon Our, not Hon Or
Cent Re, not Cent Er (Sounds like you are saying "Er..." if you say Er instead of Re)
Programme, not Program
Etc
Say color and some of those other words and you won't hear anything close to a Or or a Er, you'll hear a Our or Re.
No that is all wrong, its color, gray, honor, armor, and center.

Centre looks and sounds retarded as hell though, if there is an re on the end of Centre, then shouldn't the beginnings of words like reload and rebuild be changed to erload and erbuild? Since apparently er and re make the same sounds and can obviously be switched around at will according to the British version of English.
See, it makes no sense and looks stupid.
It's Program, there's nothing that sounds close to "me" at the end of Program.
I speak English pretty good.

I am on an eternal quest to butcher the English language. However, any attempt I have made has not been as successful as serious comments made by hooligans on the internet.

I speak Australian English and the "re" in centre isn't pronounced the same as the "re" in reload and rebuild..?
In any case, English in general has plenty of exceptions
No one can speak proper english without learning a few other languages as well since english is mostly made up of words from other languages
This question can be applied to any fucking language ever.
After watching a few shows from the UK, I got to thinking, who speaks English properly?
I know that what we now call the English language originated in, you guessed it, England, but It seems to me (Although I could easily be wrong as I'm not a English major) that people from the UK don't speak proper English. Such as using "F" instead of "TH" and leaving out the "H" in words like "Head".
I understand that there are dialects but still, there is always going to be a "Correct" way to speak English.
I'm not trying to put down the British or start a debate on which countries are the best, just who speaks the closest to proper English.
Another question, is the language taught in the UK like that or is it taught to be pronounced the correct way and just not followed?
Now I know that there are parts of the US which also has it's share of language deviations (e.g. The deep south, New Jersey, etc.) but where I live it's pretty straightforward.
There is no "proper" way to speak a language.
In sweden we have a lot of different accents that to some foreigners sound like different languages.

It should be center, centre is a retarded exception because re is supposed to be at the beginning of words that involve redoing something, there's no reason at all for center to be spelled centre, it looks like a damn typo.
If you communicate your meaning with language even if it's slang. I don't see a point in needing it to be "proper".

Back in the day we had slaves and there was no middle class.
america speaks it properly

No reason? I guess there's no reason to spell properly at all, but people understand each other better if everyone spell words the same way.
[editline]11:25AM[/editline]
And "center" is the correct way to spell it if you write in american.
Well I assume since English originated in Europe (Britain), and because Shakespeare assisted in its creation, they'd be the ones speaking it correctly.
america speaks it properly
Everyone does.
tankkiller you are an idiot
Best to completely correct English you're going to get is the Queen's English.
Yep. This topped it off. None of you have lives.

there are different accents in england, we're not all posh twats.
Does it even matter? If you understand what people are saying, there's not really a problem.
Wow, this discussion is just stupid. 5 pages of flaming...
Americans: We ARE the best. We cannot let the terrorists win...
British: OY! Who talks funney, ey?
Australians: *gibrish*
