I feel bad for Tony, he always seems really excited and passionate about the games.
This looks like a launch title for the Xbox 360.
Is it really this glitchy though? There are plenty of glitch highlights for sports games out there that make the game look like it's like that all the time when the glitches are actually pretty rare.
This looks like a launch title for the Xbox 360.
Don't worry, it's just a tribute to old graphics
If it is anything like TPHD:
Well, i got a good 16 hours out of this game. It's disappointingly lacking a lot of stuff, but i was able to enjoy it. And tbh i haven't experienced a notable amount of glitches. Can't even recall any at all.
I'm more depressed by how empty it looks than its numerous glitches. This is sadware.
For me, the last GOOD Tony Hawk game was Underground. Tony Hawk literally DIED after the Playstation 2 days.

Tony Hawk literally DIED after the Playstation 2 days.
I wasn't the biggest fan of American Wasteland even though I adored the Underground games, but Proving Ground wasn't bad. Although it did lack a lot of earlier charm of the series.
This looks like a launch title for the Xbox 360.
It almost looks worse than Project 8. (Which was a pretty decent game, imo)
This isn't all that different glitch wise to skate 3 stop jumping on the bandwagon. The physics are bugging out, when it happens in skate 3 its funny when it happens in tony haws its trash. It understand that it was said it was all recorded in 1 hour of play time. But the thing is, helix and all those crazy fuck ups, i had happen frequently on accident on a normal round of skate. I just moved on because it was funny. This is more thps being more an easy target at this point.

If you want to really break Skate 3, you have to try to, it's somewhat rare that it will happen in "normal" gameplay (just skateboarding around main areas with no props, cars or peds). You might find areas of the map that are glitchy, you might get launched every once in a while, but you won't just randomly phase through a completely ordinary ramp and other parts of the floor like 15 times in an hour from just trying to play normally (and that's assuming they used all of the footage they had of stuff like that happening). That amount of glitchiness is inexcusable. Especially considering that the Skate series is so dynamic and physics based that it's a MIRACLE that it's not glitchier, whereas in THPS5 your character rigged to a skateboard and controls like a vehicle with extremely simple physics made to imitate an N64/PS1 game, with the only change being the fact that they turn into a ragdoll when they bail. The glitch you see me do in Skate 3 where I phase through the ground? I didn't discover that until after at least a hundred hours of playtime. There's only one specific glitch that does that as well (not counting the one that requires a turbo controller). Other times when the ground or walls are phased through it's almost always in high up or far off places where normal skating doesn't happen and often where the devs didn't count on you getting to (but they put physics there anyways because the Skate devs were just awesome like that). Here's an example: this is the glitchiest stuff I could get out of Skate 3 for the first few months of playing, before I started really figuring out the major glitches and how to break it. Notice how I have less glitchy content than Eurogamer did after one hour. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FH88z7wOTw

This is more thps being more an easy target at this point.
I can kinda agree that THPS is easy to target nowadays- and hell, even they had their own share of glitches and bugs through out the series, but back then, those were only found when intentionally trying to break the game. Some of the clips in the video do appear as if they're trying to make a glitch happen, but in THPS:HD (which uses the same engine), glitches would happen while trying to play normally, just by using the mechanics of the game. But people are only targeting it because once it was a great franchise, close to many people's hearts, but then after 5-7 years of a new title each year, they started to go into a strange direction and lost their appeal. And then, to spit on the grave they were digging, the next 3-4 years, a handful of spin-offs were released to Shred all hopes of a good game. Then comes the "revival" games, which are slow, clunky and just soulless in comparison. They don't carry the same charm, in part to not using the same engine, but just not being made by the same team that actually made Tony Hawk games good.

People are shitting on it because it's a terrible game that isn't fun at all to play and doesn't even begin to compare to any other Tony Hawk games.
You should check out Giant Bombs (not so) Quick Look on THPS5 http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/quick-look-tony-hawks-pro-skater-5/2300-10729/ It's a fuckin' hot mess.
Why, Tony? Why?
He's old, $$$ from his franchise, and because when you have franchise you don't have to care about quality if folks buy it because of name value alone. At least that's the idea of franchise anyway.

Then they got into the gameplay where every mission and mode has a brief loading time instead of anything remotely seamless, the menus basically mean that you have to stop mid-session to choose to actually do things, and so many other problems. I thought that it was bad enough that Robomodo couldn't get past the classic games setup instead of trying something a little more advanced, but apparently they just butchered this whole system. [editline]30th September 2015[/editline] Christfuck they took out the advanced flatland stuff from Pro Skater 3 and onward and you can't even do double or triple kickflips. They even made special tricks completely automatic via just pressing a button to activate your Special; after that you just automatically do the tricks. [editline]30th September 2015[/editline] oh god that space jelly custom park might as well be "lil wayne drowns in space"

I wish they would have just had a 1 to 1 port of the first 4 THPS games, with online capabilities for the games that actually had online. Trying to recreate what THPS was is kinda hard in this day and age, and the HD thing from a few years ago was okay, but it wasn't quite hitting it. I just want to play Pro Skater 3 in HD, at a high framerate, without any massive changes or graphical overhauls.
I hope some indie studio manages to basically do what Cities: Skylines did to SimCity and just make an amazing Tony Hawk clone
I used to enjoy glitch hunting on the THPS games, shit was fun with friends trying to pull glitches off.

See, if they actually gave this to a component developer, I feel like people would love to start playing skateboarding games again. It could easily become a yearly thing. Unfortunately, they fucked up, and now the name is stained even worse.
i have no idea why they keep letting robomodo do these games literally every robomodo tony hawk game has been shit
i have no idea why they keep letting robomodo do these games literally every robomodo tony hawk game has been shit
They burned Neversoft remnants into Infinity Ward while the rest quit, and none of the studios they have left are open or good for skateboarding games as far as I know. They probably don't have anyone else they could outsource these games to, because Robomodo isn't even a studio under Activision. Think about that; Activision cares so little about the series that they've outsourced the last four shitty games to the same developer.
Why, Tony? Why?
I hope tony wasted money on this game.
I hope tony wasted money on this game.
That's kinda pointless way of thinking. Tony is a skateboarder, not a game developer. He didn't know if the game was going to be a flop or not, and it certainly wasn't intentional. Him losing money isn't gonna make him think "hmm, maybe I should give it to another developer that's better and try again", it's just gonna solidify him not making another tony hawk game again.
just play thug pro
I didn't even know that existed, so thanks for that.
Where the hell are the colors like in the old games?!
