Alright, i'm asking here because I have no one to ask IRL. Does anyone have any advice for dealing with gender dysphoria? I've been dealing with it for as long as I can remember, and at this point i'm just tired of it. Its been really hitting me hard for some reason as of late,
everytime I look in the mirror I remember what i'm not and just sorta hate myself for it. Would take hormones, but I don't think any amount will fix my body as it is, its simply too late.
I feel like a selfish ass for posting this shit here, so i'm sorry. But please, if anyone has reached a personal solution, i'd very much appreciate it if you pm'd it to me.

make up can hide the fact that im a goblin, so if it works for me it should work for anyone
Firstly: You're not a selfish ass. You're more than welcome to vent your concerns here!
Secondly: Don't dismiss hormones saying "it's too late". You would be surprised the age range those things can feasibly make changes at!
Thirdly: I would suggest experimenting with things you can change. My recommendations are clothing and/or makeup for starters. No matter what your gender identity is - these will help you experiment with different looks to see if any help you feel any better about yourself.
Do you happen to know if the hormones can be ordered online? Honestly, i'm thinking if I can even make my body 25% more feminine i'll be complacent atleast.
Thank you both for responding, it means the world to me!
Since I've been able to wear things that are more masculine at both school, at home, and at my internship, I've been feeling a lot more comfortable and confident in myself. I also haven't felt the need to wear makeup to look presentable in the past several weeks.
I still wish I could explore more but I'm at kind of a standstill here. But I'm glad that I'm moving in a positive direction though. It feels nice.

On that note, sometimes I feel a little hesitant about flirting with people when they're obviously gonna go with the assumption that I'm female but I feel like I'd be lying to them since I don't really feel like a female?
I dunno what that means lol but it makes me a little worried when I say someone is cute or something.
Do any of you know where I can get makeup without going out? I'm wanting to see how much of a difference makeup could make to me but I don't want to be caught with it because my family still don't know (and going outside randomly will raise a bit of suspicion) :s:

Sephora is a little expensive but they have a lot of good stuff. And they have an online store. You can click around and see what you might like.
If you wanna be more subtle there's probably a lot of makeup on Amazon.
day before appointment and ive heard absolutely nothing, so i guess it's not happening. even if she got back to me tomorrow the relationship of trust between us is now so irreparably damaged i don't know if i'd feel comfortable going.
fuck this. the idea of having a specialist to actually talk to about this was practically keeping me alive the last month.
what razors do you reccomend for shaving legs? I have a gillete mach 3 with the detachable blades, but I'm not sure if they're the best for that
Gillete is a decent brand, they get the job done.
Avoid Bic shavers those pesky things nick my skin more times than I can count.
On the topic of shaving legs, how do you guys do it exactly? Like what is your exact step-by-step procedure? I feel like I'm making a big mistake as every time I shave against the grain I'm left with a bunch of gross red bumps. I've read your supposed to shave with the grain to avoid that, but that ends up preserving most of my hair. It takes me like, an hour and a half to do it too, which I feel is too long but /shrug.

get an electric shaver, this allows you to buzz the whole area relatively quickly, then go for the wet shave. go slow, and use as little pressure as possible when using the razor (genuinely, try to just touch it to the surface) and don't bother shaving the inside leg unless you love pain. you can use more force and go more quickly on sections where the skin is rough/taut, go easy on the parts where you have more chub. once you're done, use a clean towel to dry.
shaving the backs of your legs is necessary but kind of a pain in the ass.
I recommend using disposables. I also have a Mach 3 but I never use it for body hair. Body hair clogs up the blades and is hard to remove, so save the expensive blades for your face.
i'll be honest, i just use a disposable gillette blue 2 with shaving cream to help with glide and shave against the grain bit by bit
like scrapin off toe cheese
cus leg hair is about as desired as toe cheese for us lot

if you're unlucky you'll get spiky stubble the day after you shave so you should shave when you're expecting to have time to appreciate it
also if you've never shaved before be prepared to feel like everything sticks to your legs
it's like fucking satin it feels so weird (but good)
but shaved legs then tights is literally the best feeling in the world
I tend to use disposables and gel rather than foam, mostly because thanks to genetics I am covered in body hair.

I use a cheapo mens tri blade from Morrisons of all places and gel.
Foam sucks for shaving in period, I have no idea why people would use foam, gel works so much better.

I think it's more of a tradition thing. My uncle loves foam, it's what he taught me to shave with.
I use Venus razors and just use body wash to shave with.

I used to do this but I kept slipping with the razor :s:
Whenever I see body hair on me. I get depressed and want to shave. But I remember how much time it takes and I get even more depressed and don't do it.
I shave my legs pretty much every time I shower, so it's just habit and routine for me now lol. Tho my showers are like 25-30 minutes long in general so.
Listen, showers are my luxury! Very rarely will I ever take a shower that's quicker than like 20 minutes at LEAST lol. Also we have a new hot water heater so we like never run out of hot water. It's great.
Gotta indulge!
Is it safe to shave without gel while in the shower? I've done it a couple times with just hot water and I get about the same results, but maybe it's some hidden smooth leg ruining technique that I haven't noticed the effects of yet.
You're a little more likely to cut yourself without something to sort of help the blade glide but you won't be tearing off your skin or anything. Just gotta go slow and careful.

I tend to only get away with it when everyone is out, I can easily spend up to like an hour in the shower, its great.
I'm thinking of getting an epilator. HRT has made my hairs really thin and slower growing so i don't think it's gonna be as painful as it would be pre hrt.
I bought one a while ago. Plugged it in and turned it on, then turned it off and put it back in it's box.
That thing is a spinning death machine.
I kinda want to try wax but tbh I have no idea what to do.
Are you on hrt tho? When i was pre hrt with really thick body hair all over i couldn't even wax my legs without crying and stopping at one leg and then just shave the rest.
Nope, probably never going to be on it either.
Are you trans or a crossdresser? I've seen you post in these threads, but i don't remember if you're trans or cis.
I'm hard to pin down. Crossdresser would most closely associate with what I am, but I dislike the term because I feel it it's too closely associated with fetishism.
If "not caring" was a gender I'd probably be that.
not trying to disparage anyone here but I think we should be careful when constructing a dichotomy of "crossdresser vs. trans"... I know crossdresser has more negative connotations than trans, and I've heard younger trans people associate it with fetishism ("ew I'm not a CROSSDRESSER, I'm just transgender, how dare you get those mixed up?") but the truth is, it's simply a term that means someone who is female/male-bodied wearing clothes that are male/female-gendered.
it's extremely common that trans people crossdress a lot (or even identify as a "crossdresser") in total privacy before figuring themselves out, as clothes are a pathway to seeing yourself as male/female. Anne Vitale (Ph.D.) points out on her website that of the clients she saw who eventually went on to transition, ALL of them had previously crossdressed regularly or semi-regularly:
CATEGORY 3. Crossdressing vs Transsexualism
3a. What is difference between a male cross-dresser and a man wanting to be a woman?
I have never met a genetic male who has gone on to transition to the female gender role that did not have at least one or two experiences crossdressing with many doing it daily. However, it does not mean that every genetic male that cross dresses will go on to transition. Keep in mind that cross dressing is a temporary way for a genetic male to experience what feels llike femaleness. For some genetic males that short period of experiencing the feminine complements their sense of being male. Some crossdressers may make some minor modifications to their body to enhance their feminine appearance when dressed such as beard and body hair removal but they have no difficulty holding on to their core sense of being male.
Genetic males who eventually go on to transition permanently to the female gender role (transsexuals) on the other hand, cross dress to ease gender expression deprivation. Dressing is serious business for these individuals. It is only during these cross dressing periods that they can find a sense of wholeness. Unlike the cross dresser described above, transsexuals have little or no love for their alienated sense of masculinity and they are more than willing to give up its influence on their lives via taking cross-sex hormones and major surgery.
tl;dr it's called the crossdressing & transgender thread for a reason. these two things are often very closely related.
