What even triggered this
I'm finally at a point in my transition where everything is going well. my face looks feminine, i figured out my hair/makeup routine, people use my chosen name. but there's still this residual anxiety, like, when the fuck are things going to start going wrong again???

my experience is that having a decent stylist is way more important than your type of hair, because they know how to work around thin hair and such. your hair looks a lot like mine did a couple years ago and mine's long and ok looking now if that's any reassurance

My hair dosen't grow that long, gets to just above the shoulder than gives up.
Anyone ever transition through Kaiser in Southern California? Northern California Kaiser has it easy, but SoCal is being cryptic as fuck.

Make sure you get split ends cleaned up every few months, otherwise your hair is going to grow out instead of down.

Yeah, I was in the same position as you six months ago, just confused as fuck as to how you're supposed to get anything started
I couldn't find any info so I just set-up an appointment with my primary care physician, told them how I was feeling and asked to be set up with a gender therapist/specialist/whatever with the goal of starting HRT and they just kinda took it from there
A couple different people from Kaiser called me and referred me to a therapist. I had to complete an assessment in-person with this therapist over the course of five separate hour-long meetings, and then I started getting phone calls again a couple weeks later and they hooked me up with an Endo

I ended up going through a third party since kaiser wanted me to jump through the entire gatekeeping system
I really love how my mom likes to call me a dumb man because I didn't do "research" on how to cook before making some stupid Betty Crocker cupcakes instead of just reading the instructions. Hahahaha really good joke. I also love how she loves to idly make fun of how stupid and awkward and manly my walk looks. HAHAHA really funny, I'm really busting a gut over here. I also love how when I get upset she loves to go on about how I need to just take a joke and how I'm just overreacting. it's just a really funny situation, and I'm so happy to have such a great, accepting, and loving mother :^)

Are you west coast too? I heard that was the case for the Midwest Kaiser with the mandatory real life experience which the thought of actually makes me queasy.
The most gatekeeping ive heard in socal was a mandatory support group meeting to be eligible for hrt and a therapist sesh for srs. Or something like that.
I am so glad the people I am with are not enforcing RLE.

Yeah I wear my bangs down basically 24/7. I was on a film shoot in that pic on the right, so I was doing a lot of physical movement all day. Got annoyed with my hair in my face so I held it back with my glasses and actually kinda liked how it made my hair look.

I don't remember exactly which members came from /lgbt/ raids but most of them are just lurkers, which actually worries me that they're trying to pull info to dox or some such, but that's just me being paranoid.
