So I was thinking, it's really hard to go from one day presenting as you've always done, to then go presenting as female. It might be easier to sort of ease into it by being more androgynous. Does anyone have any experience or ideas? It's mostly a random thought from me as I did even really know how to be more androgynous.
thank you! and yeah, i didnt think id be able to get it so fast, even though ive been waiting for over 6 months at this point. youre making great progress on your voice btw! i need to start training but ive been putting it off x_x
Meanwhile over the seas, 4 years of waiting (3 before they even saw me, one more due to situation). Fuck being 25 now, birthday 2 days ago really nailed that emphasis into me.

Come the winter I'm looking to experiment a bit more.

I wear hoodies all the time myself (always have), but it doesn't really do much on it's own.

For example, I don't really wear men's cut shirts anymore (you would be surprised how much of a difference this makes) and leaning more towards clothing that is shared by men and women , for example round about here slim cut jeans are worn by everyone regardless of gender. Probably one of my first steps in changing my dress was adding a selection of thin sweaters to my existing shirts, ideally neutral colour so it takes attention away from my pretty obviously masculine shoulders.
i wore girl clothes it felt nice
I've still yet to actually start wearing the clothes I want, just feel so limited and constrained with living in a house with other people
i think i might take a selfie every week now that im on hrt so i can put together a timeline after a while, should be fun plus itd help to be able and look back at my progress whenever im feeling dysphoric
Would recommend. Although maybe every half-month or month instead of week. Not much will change between weeks.
knowing me i'll probably take one every half a day regardless lol
knowing me i'll probably take one every half a day regardless lol
I was gonna suggest one a day and compile them into a video a year or three down the road. :v:

I do a similiar thing about every 2 weeks when it comes to working out, It really helps whenever I feel demotivated by how little change I see, having comparisons help me see how far I've actually come along It's worth trying to be consistent with the lighting, and environment of the photos, makes it easier to compare
speaking of timelines, here's one I did way back... it's pretty useless coz the lighting, camera, my weight, and pretty much everything else changes in each one but you can still tell shit got better than the first few photos... and a more recent photo [t]http://jennybur.net/pix/21371248_10214223117190541_1793070652146299834_n.jpg[/t]
You're looking great.
Anyone have recurring dreams about their transition? I keep having dreams where i either try to present female and some others where i'm trying to present boymode. Last night i had a dream where i was in some class and there were a lot of guys i served with in the military and i started hiding my face to avoid being recognised. At first they were calling me dude which made me go "here we go again" and then started recognizing me. Some other times i'm with my family and they missgender me which makes me really frustrated, while some other times i get drafted back in the military and i have to somehow hide my breasts and hair from my superior officers. I wouldn't call them bad dreams, but they're pretty annoying V:v:V
I only have reoccurring dreams of nuclear bombs being dropped, but that's just me. However when I have a dream that I'm the focus of, I'm usually able to identify myself as being female usually by looking through a mirror.
You guys and gals got any tips on raising voice pitch? My voice is deep and gravelly as shit and it is the one thing my doctor cant do shit with
Do you have a discord? I'm not like perfect in terms of voice, but i know SOME stuff. We could vc and practice together if you want.
I do but I dont have a mic right now, I am heading back to Scotland soon so I will be sure to pick it up then
Finally gained the courage to go to my doctor and start the very long process of transitioning. It's such a weight off my shoulders and I thought I would drop a lot of spaghetti for lack of a better term when explaining myself but it just came right out. [editline]5th October 2017[/editline] In the words of the famous warrior poet Ice Cube, today was a good day.
Now get ready for the waiting lists! They suck, but progress is progress
I never thought it was going to happen, but today, a complete stranger gendered me correctly. He was about 30 feet away from me, but it's a start.
Indeed, the ball is rolling and I did explain that I do know how long it can take but as you say to reach a better life for myself it's worth it.
It'll either be 3 months or ~5 years. Have fun, I sure have...
I was so ready to make an appointment with planned parenthood to get hrt. A friend of mine did it a few weeks ago. Things were going well. Then suddenly she gets a $550+ bill for the bloodwork they did. Which we all thought was covered by her insurance as they mentioned nothing about the cost of it when we were there and the insurance covered pretty much everything about the visit. I guess I am not setting up an appointment anytime soon if that is how much bloodwork costs. I can't afford that. :(

Ask what exactly everything is going to cost before it happens. If they say that insurance will pay for it and you have a $X copay, if you ever get a bill, challenge it. "I was told that this would be covered, why is this not covered?" I had to go through similar stuff recently where copays for blood work and X-Rays were extremely cheap ($10-$30), and then had a $250 copay practically out of nowhere because we had gone to a hospital.
im pretty sure i got gendered correctly by these two old guys yesterday, i havent done any voice training yet and i wasnt dressed up special so it felt rly good
Ok it's late at night and I'm getting weird thoughts again. What are my options for taking HRT but NOT doing any form of surgery? Would I just take medicine for the rest of my life?
What do you wanna know? There’s oral, Injections, sublingual forms of hrt.
I was never really good at taking medication daily, so I don't want to get in on something that I have to take once (or multiple times) a day. I keep seeing good transition timeline photos and it's giving me thoughts again.
dunno whether theyre right or not, but i asked my doctors and they told me there's no difference between oral and injectable estrogen in terms of effectiveness
today i'm going to come out to a vice principal at my school (i have had a lot of dysphoria lately and she wants to know what's happening) wish me luck! (also hi everybody!)
today i'm going to come out to a vice principal at my school (i have had a lot of dysphoria lately and she wants to know what's happening) wish me luck! (also hi everybody!)
I wish you all the best.
I'm going to miss Pride this year because I just put in my 2 week's notice and my boss denied a PTO request I made like a week ago. While it's not really a high crime or anything, I'm pretty pissed off about it.
Therapist told me to look into seeing if my insurance covers HRT, Im guessing thats a good sign that I wont be waiting for much longer
Would recommend. Although maybe every half-month or month instead of week. Not much will change between weeks.
Eh it depends. I couldn't even look at myself or take selfies regularly when I was presenting male Don't do it if you're not comfortable with it
