I should probably look into freezing my sperm or something since I'm not completely sure that I don't want kids. Of course, that's even more money that I don't have. Jesus.
my mom payed for my banking because she really wants me to have grandkids
but tbh i don't think i ever will, i never want to be a biological father
my mom hates the thought of having grandkids so at least im not pressured into getting married and having kids and stuff
You're obscenely lucky. I'm 19 and my mom is already starting to drop hints about how I need to find a nice girl to have children with. Joke's on her, I'm a lesbian now
Since it was brought up in the Discord, here's your yearly friendly reminder that it's never to late to transition. It may not be the most optimal time and you may wish you had started earlier, but it's never too late to start.
it's never too late to start
it's never too late to start
IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO START. LITERALLY NEVER. You could be 80+ years old and it would still be a good time to start. If you are transgender and transitioning is the right choice for you, then you can start whenever you are able. Especially if it will make you comfortable within your own body.
Not trying to come across angry or anything, I just see this all the time. It's an important message that I want to get out to as many people as I can. I personally knew a lady who started in her mid-to-late 30's (I think, I could find her timeline on reddit) and she came out of it just fine. I never even knew or questioned her being a woman when I was introduced to her, I just thought she had a deep voice.
Again, IT IS LITERALLY NEVER TOO LATE TO START.
any tips for trying to put on weight? i've been stuck at 130lbs for a good few years now, i'd like to be a bit thicker-set to try and help with my figure
I got a skirt today and I realized I forgot how gross my knees are after wearing jeans for so long.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Go slightly above your daily calorie limit once you figure out what that is. You want the gain to be slow and steady so it looks as pleasing as possible.
Otherwise you end up with stretchmarks eeeeeeeeeeeeeeverywhere. Speaking from experience :v:

frequently eating smaller, but filling meals is the best way to do this, instead of trying to tackle huge meals 3 times a day. less binge-y
protein smoothies are good for adding weight and arent too unhealthy. adding things like more dairy products (milk for a beverage, cheese toppings) to meals also is good for gaining

I know the feeling. Well, I'm not transgendered, but I used to be very anorexic as a kid, and it was really hard for me to gain weight (90 lbs at 5'7!!!). Now I'm at a much more healthy weight (~165lbs).
Here's some tips:
1.) Use a TDEE calculator, and use programs like MyFitnessPal to count your calories/macro-molecule consumption. It's very simple to gain weight, just consume more than you give out. None of that "fast metabolism" bs that people like to spew. Gain 1lb a week for a lean gain (+500 calories from your maintenance). Anything more will put some fat on you. Anything less is too slow.
2.) Just eat a fuckton. Check out /r/gainit for some great advice and recipes to help you out. Drinking nutrients is easier to get down than eating solids, but both are important to your digestive system. Protein shakes are a good weight booster, and put olive oil on whatever you can, whenever you can to add some extra calories. Make sure that you switch stuff up once in a while, though, don't just eat the same stuff. This is a marathon, not a race. https://www.reddit.com/r/gainit/wiki/recipearchive#wiki_meals
3.) Weightlift! Just eating made me feel sickly and nauseous, but pairing it up with some heavy lifting pushes you to actually eat, since otherwise you'll feel starved for some food. You can do the same with cardio, but lifting adds great muscle to things like your butt, thighs, makes you more confident and gives you a great figure all the same. Lemme know if you need a program/advice!
Also, an update for anyone still interested. Fatimah decided that he wants hormone therapy after a long time mulling it over, which is great. The problem is that he needs his parents to accept it, which is not so great. I'm talking to the same rep from Halsted to see what we can do to maybe ease the declaration to his parents. It's a very sticky situation though. I'll let you guys know what we've decided to do/how the reveal goes when it happens.
If you're working at making only certain areas gain weight you could try doing exercises that keep the other parts thin exclusively, and if that doesn't work there is a service I've been told about at beauty places.
I think it was called body sculpting or ice sculpting. I think Ideal Image was giving it.
They freeze the fat in targeted areas of the body, and when it melts you pee it right out. Supposed to be safer than lipo.

Body sculpting does work greatly, but usually it's pretty damn expensive, and you have to be the right applicant for it.
You cannot "gain weight" in certain areas, that's a myth. You can work out certain areas, but the result will be muscular areas and the rest flabby/disjointing. You'd look much better actually working out with a good program consistently and a strong diet. Taking shortcuts will show.
So I'm actually curious. I've been eyeing up cypro and spiro and comparing and contrasting between the two, but I'm curious if anyone here has experience with cypro after spiro and how it compares. I know spiro's AA function is kinda secondary, but it still works. I also know cypro is kinda dangerous. I just don't wanna damn myself to it if I know something else works if done right. :s:
Can confirm that Cypro can have quite a nasty depression side effect going on, turned me into an absolute wreck for a long while and I had to entirely re-learn how to control myself emotionally and adjust dosage. Other than that it's been pretty chill - tastes of nothing and you hardly have to take anything.
I had some annoying allergic reactions to Spiro so I couldn't take that, anyway.
Yeah, apparently cypro has this weird phase where you hit a hard depressive slump but stabilizes after a while. It allegedly gets worse at dosages higher than 50mg but, as the saying goes, ymmv. Other than that, it seems to be superior to spiro in terms of AA. There's also the risk of suppressing E levels with cypro?
Also doesn't taste horrible and makes you have massive salt cravings
Or massive stomach pains :wavey:
True! I'm DIYing it for the most part until certain planets align. So far so good!
i'm really worried that i might be resistant to spiro. been on hrt for 5 months now, and the only change i've noticed is breast growth, which happens regardless of testosterone levels...
ive been on hormones (using spiro) for 1 year and 3 months and my boobs are so .. conical .will they eventfually get rounder
Oops I've been taking my hormones wrong for about a year now. That explains a lot!
oh god you can do that???
also all this talk of tblocker resistance is scary, I've been on t-blockers about 4 months now and not too much has changed, I wish my dysphoria didn't stop me from taking photos it'd be easier to tell but I've got a check up with my doc on the 15th so I'll maybe bring it up then..
i didnt develop breast buds until about 4 months (currently 6 going on 7 this month) but i was on a dose of 50 mg spiro and 1 mg e until then (currently 200mg/4mg). my levels are better but i think i have some resistance to it as well as i think my T levels are still out of the range it should be
i was told testosterone does inhibit breast growth though if your levels are too high by my endo awhile ago
I don’t reckon. I was on 50 mg spiro and 2 mg estradiol Valerate and my t was well within the male range and I developed breast buds the first 3 weeks. While spiro does inhibit the production of progesterone it doesn’t inhibit the production of breast buds.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i guess i just got super unlucky with breast growth then. i started sometime in august and i dont think i had noticable buds until november/december when my dose got increased the first time
it was my last visit when i complained about my breast growth and she said having high T was an issue. im not the doc so i just take her word for it
I'm a bit late from sickness, but
Happy international women's day y'all :cat: hope its been a good one
[sp]Sorry for maybe being an ass last time I posted? I was definitely in the wrong with the second post.[/sp]
Today I had my 3 month checkup for my HRT and did my second round of labs. I had my spironolactone dose doubled to 200mg. After the labs I went to court and filed all the paperwork for legally changing my name and sex on my birth certificate.
Very exciting.

Some of my nails naturally look misshapen as fuck, what do you do to make yours look that good?
I'm three weeks into hrt and ow, my nips.
Also, I'm suffering at work so much since I work in an Amazon warehouse as Jeff Bezos' bitch and it's getting way difficult to lift heavy boxes. It sucks lmao.

Every time I lift something and it accidentally bump my nipple at work, I let out a cry of agony. Luckily everyone at my work has to wear mandatory hearing protection so no one can hear my bitching about how my nipple just got wrecked.

Are you getting tested?
These weird pains around my body have me on edge. Is it HRT or am I experiencing old people pain? I can't tell aaa :scream:
Are you getting tested?
yes but for some bullshit reasons i haven't been able to see the blood test results yet, hopefully will get that cleared up soon
I shape them after I paint them, so that they look even when painted. If i cut the white tips down, theyd look very misshapen. I dont bother to paint my nails unless theyre at or near this length
