To be fair Biodude isn't a transgirl, just a big fag. :P <3
Well, yeah, I already knew that. I think I read it on Wikipedia, irrc
:snip:
oh fuck its like being surrounded by mousetraps :scream:
Y'all, like, look really great that probably sounds really creepy or something hovers backwards out the door
I think I'm a pretty feminine guy but I'm pretty much just a lurker. I don't do makeup or dress up enough to really consider myself a crossdresser or anything.
The threads full of transgirls, not feminine guys.
Shit, sorry. I've only ever known the term as good since it means you pass enough for straight cis dudes to hit on you Went ahead and snipped that tho
Shit, sorry. I've only ever known the term as good since it means you pass enough for straight cis dudes to hit on you Went ahead and snipped that tho
I mean, it's not bad, just wrong. It's a trap being "oh, that girl looks cute," but they're actually a boy. I've heard that it's derogatory in how people use it as "oh, that girls look cute" but they're a trans girl, and it's "oh, no, I've been trapped into a penis." but tbh I've never heard it as that, just as the former.
So I finally went to the doctors about my issues, gender, depression, anxiety, so I'm starting to go somewhere with this I feel pretty good right now
I drove across the country to speak to a psychologist, did a horrible job at it, then drove back. I will hear back from them in 3-4 weeks time and they'll probably reject me.
Psychologists will never outright reject you unless they're really shitty psychologists.
Shit, sorry. I've only ever known the term as good since it means you pass enough for straight cis dudes to hit on you Went ahead and snipped that tho
I've amended my post as a result [editline]4th November 2015[/editline]
Psychologists will never outright reject you unless they're really shitty psychologists.
Unless you present a danger to yourself or others, a psychologist won't turn you away. You may be assigned someone else if their biases work against you, but still. Shit like this is why I don't wanna be a psych anymore; too many dickheads.
Psychologists will never outright reject you unless they're really shitty psychologists.
Considering that I was told to consider whether or not I could be comfortable in my current body, I'm thinking that I probably will be. The system is pretty shitty in Denmark and they said that they will be discussing whether they think I will benefit from anything they could offer me.

As a matter of fact if thats the case they're required to possibly put you on an involuntary psychological hold.

Just that they would 302 you due to such, which is a little on the extreme end.
Well, I didn't want to imply they'd turn you away period. Just that they would 302 you due to such, which is a little on the extreme end.
Meh I've been 51 50'd before (California equivalent of an involuntary psych hold). It's really not all that bad.
It seems my hipbones grew again, but not my actual hips. I don't understand what my body is trying to do
Your hips are unbound by mortal laws like euclidean physics it seems.
That's legit kind of weird do bones grow much
if you're lucky your hips will widen like 1-2 inches tops [editline]4th November 2015[/editline] the pelvic bone i mean, can't speak for fat redistribution cause that's all over the place. pelvic bones fuse somewhere between 22 and 26 years old, if you're on hormones from a relatively early age the growth plates could add a couple inches before 'deactivating'.
Also I'm kind of curious, is there a "too old" age to start or do the hormones and stuff generally always work?
Also I'm kind of curious, is there a "too old" age to start or do the hormones and stuff generally always work?
There's no set "too old" age, genetic lottery always falls into play, but 25 and over can be seen as a bad time to start, and if you're in your late 30s or early 40s you wont have a good time
The philosophy is that "it's never too late", but the reality is the longer you wait the less drastic the results of transitioning would be.
Hm ok I'm kind of just now learning about all this and it's pretty interesting.
I wish I'd known earlier in my life so I could have had puberty blockers. I'd be on hormones by now.
Also I'm kind of curious, is there a "too old" age to start or do the hormones and stuff generally always work?
As others have said, there really isn't a "too old", but there is at the same time. Around 30+ is when it doesn't have the same, profound effect as it would if you were to begin earlier. At that point you'd have to rely more on surgery. I wished I had known it was a thing in general, maybe then I'd actually feel better about my choice. Alas, that wasn't the case so I decided against it. Ah well, life goes on.
Yeah it seems most people start in their mid-teens at the latest and I'm almost twenty Takes a while to decide this kind of thing. Idk :/
Late teens really isn't as common as you might think. I'd say early 20s is the more common starting point, mostly due to non-supportive families refusing to allow them, so they need time to get out and on their feet before being prepared to pay/get hormone therapy.
I got lucky and got to start more hormones this year (I'm 18)
