If you are already losing hair, it won't make it regrow. But if you start hrt before that, it will prevent hair lose.
At this point I may as well find a way to grow short curly hair with rogue science. Been thinning since early 20's and trying to make it look nice is failing as more of it is thinning out. :scream:
there is definitely documented cases of hairline regrowth after starting HRT but as far as i know research has never directly linked the two together because of the rarity of this occurrence. [editline]29th November 2015[/editline] it's seemingly random.
I was thinking, maybe I should contact my Psychiatrist about this, Like I am seeing him in Jan but I don't know if I can wait that long without talking to him. I did ask my Mom if I could contact him, she said No. I want to start HRT, but I don't want to wait a year, 3 months is okay but I'd prefer to start ASAP. Any idea's as to what I can do? My Mom probably wouldn't like me doing anything without a Doctor or Psychiatrists word and it's eating me up inside. Right now we are looking for a Gender Therapist and I might be buying some girl clothes this week to start Cross-Dressing. I'm not trying to rush things on purpose, I'm just trying to pick up the pace.
feeling a bit like a freak; not feeling male any more but still looking male, but not entirely female either boobs but beard growth. something in between and i just feel disgusting

If its a gatekeeping system then expect something like a minimum number of sessions before you can get a prescription.
I mean Shit the last thing im gonna worry about by then is how i look. When Im 60 I doubt ill even give a shit cus ill be 60. I'd be worrying about my carreer or my cash. How I look is like #345 on the list of shit to worry about when Im 60. Dont let such a tiny thing detail. Surely we'll all be dead before that due to the inevitable apocalypse.
Um, what?
I was correcting my Mom about how long I'd do therapy, she said it would be a couple of years at least, but I said it would be at least 1 year, which our Psychiatrist said himself Then she said if I continued to doubt her she would just ignore this entirely. Maybe I should start thinking about a Plan B incase she does ignore this. This is why I try to avoid pushing her, even just a little bit, because she gets mad at me for the littlest things and says she will do x if I don't stop doing whatever it was I did, even tho technically in most cases, I am in the right.
Um, what?
Oh, you didn't know? The world's ending pretty soon.
Then she said if I continued to doubt her she would just ignore this entirely.
What age are you? Your mom really shouldn't have any say in your appointments and what you do, or at least as much as she seems to.
Oh, you didn't know? The world's ending pretty soon.
Why do you say that?
"I am going to ignore your medical condition if we have an argument" horrible parent
16
I lurk this thread sometimes so I feel like I should reply here since I see you're in Australia: the age of consent for medical procedures may not be 18 depending on what state you're in. It looks like a lot of them have it set at either 14 or 16.
I dont like the whole "think it was a woman but its a man" thing. (User was banned for this post ("Unfunny troll" - verynicelady))
i don't like the whole "it" thing.

Provided that a medical practitioner, supported by another medical practitioner, believes that certain treatment is in the best interests of the child and the child is 'capable of understanding the nature, consequences and risks' involved, that child can validly consent to their own treatment.
It seems vague as to whether it only refers to the ability to not consent to treatment, or whether it extends to seeking treatment, though.
I don't know how healthcare is in Australia but even if you can legally consent to HRT by yourself you may still have to rely on your parents to actually pay for the stuff.
Take it. It seems that Australia uses the gatekeeping system so its either that or self med
What, you can do it weekly, fortnightly and monthly. I was just saying that right now it seems that it's going to be going over a year which I don't want.
