So I need some advice... I've been on hormones for 6 months already and I'm going to be starting college in about a month. Should I try to go full girl mode or what.
Yeah, go for it.

Go for it
Since you've been on 'mones for 6 months, consider going on an ultra low calorie diet for a while, losing all your fat(anorexic-levels, even), then eating a pig to get it back. It'll distribute to female areas and make the whole process go significantly faster
Not that easy when you buy stuff online. I'd prefer shopping in a store, but for now I'm just not feeling up to having to go find a store and shopping by myself.
I always feel awkward when I physically go into stores to browse the women's clothes section. I'm just not confident enough yet.
careful on that though, I had a phase where I ate veeerrrry little a day and your body adjusts to it and then you try and eat again and you throw up over eating like a full sandwich, at least in my experience
well I mean
eat at LEAST 1000 calories a day
As a member of the trans and gay communities, the push to unban gay and trans people from donating blood pisses me off. I hate that my friends just assume that this is discrimination--a lot of people do, but the AIDS infection rate for trans youth hovers around 30% and it's going up.
We shouldn't be allowed to give blood.
I'm sorry, but it's objectively true. I've noticed that a lot of these kinds of pushes are initiated by straight people who have no idea what they're talking about. they see 'discrimination' and want to be supportive of the LGBT community but they can't tell what is and isn't discrimination because they're straight. I also don't like how it's become taboo to discuss the fact that, in America, HIV is a disease that almost exclusively affects LGBT people, especially trans people and gay men. This is objectively true. Not because of "promiscuity" or whatever but because HIV literally infects more gay people for biological reasons. People exposed through gay sex are literally more likely to get HIV than people exposed through straight sex, because of how the AIDS virus permeates certain mucous membranes better than other mucous membranes.
Tabooing these facts increases the risk of infection by a ton and as someone in the at risk population that's being "discriminated against" I am very uneasy about a society that puts not offending me above not killing me.
As someone with friends with HIV it kills me that this kind of information is largely unknown and assumed to be fraudulent if stumbled upon. Every time someone assumes that gay people having higher HIV infection rates is just because of "culture" (like bigots say) or "statistics" (like I've heard from friends) instead of literal biology, people die.
It's stupid because they test all blood for HIV infection regardless.

black people should be extra scrutinized by the police because they commit a proportionate amount of crime

Proper HIV tests take time
Proper HIV tests take time
But they already do the tests on the blood
Like what's your point even, that's a fact but it's also a fact that HIV tests are already done on donated blood anyways
Proper HIV tests take time
yeah they take time but they actually do test all the blood.
for people taking HRT meds makes sorta sense since the meds transwomen usually take can be real bad for fetal development, but that's all about I know about the subject

Um...
That's not how it works.
I asked my endocrinologist. On hrt your body is going to go through different weight as the hormones do their thing. If you're overweight and lose weight you'll actually see results better. If you're thin eat a little more to gain weight and then lose it. Don't go on dangerous low calorie diets. And shame on your for even recommending such a stupid fucking idea. " Anorexic-levels are okay?" Are you daft?

you're a dangerous, disgusting person
Can we like not drama the thread up? This whole topic about HIV and blood transfusion is not something this thread is for. And yeah the Anorexia diet suggestion was dumb, but lets not harp on it.

This is what mine recommended. Fat redistributes when you gain or lose it , but not passively. By losing a lot of weight, you force it to redistribute, even in areas like your face.

Lmao calling me a disgusting person for passing along what my endo told me and what people are doing successfully, yes, thank you

if your endo actually told you that you should find a new endo
Going on an "Anorexia level diet" is literally never okay, and if any doctor told me the to do that I'd outright go out and look for another doctor.
endo here.
eat nothing but the flesh of infants and funnel money into the catholic church.
(it will give you larger breast growth)
First birthday on hormones :3

Maybe your endo meant go on a diet to lose weight and you just misinterpreted it.
[editline]17th January 2016[/editline]
Actually, no, not maybe. I know he didn't say that because no doctor in their right mind would say that. Every doctor knows getting to a point where you're basically a skeleton is detrimental to your health. Not only could it cause cardiac arrest but re-introducing large portions of food afterwards can cause the body to reject it and make the individual throw up or die.

Not anorexia level diet, getting very thin. Your diet should only be ~700 kCal below your daily expenditure, not more. I phrased it poorly.
reminds me of how my mom's first doctor she had while she was pregnant with me got up on her case about being TOO FAT and YOU'RE GONNA HURT THE BABY because of it so she practically starved herself until she got a new doctor who was absolutely livid that she was told that, since by the time she started eating right and the pregnancy got into the final stages the placenta had been deteriorating
hhhh being starved for nutrients early in development probably explains all my mental illnesses and probably being trans yay
Reaching 2 years with me waiting on Newcastle.
Last time I phoned I ended up speaking directly to the head of the clinic, it seems that with Newcastle anyway they don't have enough staff to replace those leaving, despite them warning the NHS multiple times like two years prior that this would happen.
Newcastle had to pretty much freeze the waiting list just to get through the people they already had backlogged.
So I'm gonna phone them up soon to find out what exactly is going on still, as it's been a good few months since I last phoned.
This really does not raise my hopes... guess I'll look into going the other route once I have a stable income if really nothing comes from going down the NHS route...
you're a dangerous, disgusting person
Also id like to point out how fucking rude and personal that attack was for 0 reason at all
you're a dangerous, disgusting person
what the fuck
people who encourage anyone to be "anorexia-level" skinny are disgusting and awful and clearly know nothing about how awful eating disorders can be
On a lighter note I got a fuckton of shirts, panties, and a pair of swanky boots for my b-day :3
[editline]17th January 2016[/editline]
Also my mom and my dad and my grandparents are using my chosen name and pronouns now!
people who encourage anyone to be "anorexia-level" skinny are disgusting and awful and clearly know nothing about how awful eating disorders can be
I understand you want to get mad but realize that I'm not advocating getting an eating disorder. I'm recommending losing lots of weight and then gaining it back. Again, I said I phrased it poorly, but I rephrased it.
That being said, I've had a friend who would have probably killed herself if she didn't do this, because it helped her burn muscle which made her no longer look. Like a large man. Even if getting very thin isn't good for you, trans-related suicide is worse.
Losing or gaining any large amount of weight in a short amount of time is unhealthy. I've lost 15 pounds in the last 3 months and that is nut goot.
I've lost around 50 pounds in 3 months before without realizing it
