Just make sure you check that nothing ends up ingrowing after a few days, only downside to shaving against.
shave against the grain and use coconut oil, you'll be smooth for dayz
I mean against :v [editline]17th February 2016[/editline] I assume against means from bottom to top. Also I use shaving cream, I don't think Coconut Oil will work in the shower that well.

Well, that sucks." It just seems to be a shit side effect of shaving to me
I'd thought I'd post here, a friend of mine who is a trap confessed that they had feelings for me and wanted me to be their boyfriend. I said I would think about it, but I'm afraid he might do something to himself if I say no. I don't know how to approach this if I'm honest.

Like, is he easy to get depressed and suicidal? Anyway, I have a bit of a problem myself. Long story short, I have Autism, I am not good with changes, I feel really sick and scared. I shaved my legs (as you all probably know considering I've been posting about it) and I am not coping too well with it, I don't think it's because the hair is gone, but because the idea of having to shave a lot is an idea I really don't like. I try to limit my time in the bathroom as I like to get stuff done and the sooner the better, so shaving my legs would make me stay in the bathroom longer, unable to do stuff. I was wondering if you lot have any ideas on what I could do to help me. I did come up with some ideas, such as getting my leg and thigh hair removed permanently, shaving my legs the same way I shave my facial hair, not all the time, just when I need to (such as when it's starting to get obvious, or I am going out)

[editline]17th February 2016[/editline]
Give it a go
If you actually care about people's feelings "giving it a go" just to see what its like and then backing out if you dont like it is kinda an awful thing to do :) [editline]17th February 2016[/editline] Shit this isnt the thread I thought it was

Other options are to literally dig them out with tweezers and have a dish of mild salt water to clean up the area but that's last ditch honestly. Best way to avoid them is after you shave you exfoliate where you shaved then after that moisturise where you shaved, this will remove anything forming over the follicles and soften the skin, basically do the same as if you were using an epilator, only difference is you're not pulling the hairs out, just cutting them. Other things you can do is shave once against then shave again with the grain right after, this will take off the "sharp edge" that'll face towards your skin if you only shave against the grain, its just little things like making sure the hair wont have an edge and it wont grow into anything. Eitherway hopefully you're not like me where my hair is like thin wire and grows really fast, I get ingrowers a lot and isn't much I can do about it, goes in the family apparently. If you're worried they might do something explain that to them and get their side, from there you can both work things out. Someone saying they don't share the same interest wont send everyone over the deep end, sometimes it just makes friendships even stronger.

every new pair of shorts i get makes me dread this torture season known as winter even more
I am starting to be a bit more comfortable with shaven legs, it's not so bad. Still get a bit uneasy when I am out in the open but that will eventually pass.

But my whole body? A shaving shower takes me ~30-40 minutes already, but that'd push me over an hour. Not to mention it'd use up so much shaving cream. I'm not trying to be all "YEAH, WELL THAT DONT WORK, WHAT NOW, REAG?," I appreciate the advice, really. I just kind of deal with it at this point.
no offense but that is an insane amount of time to be showering, you can shave your whole body and face + clean hair + wash body + exfoliate in like 25 minutes
^this it's also worth noting that shaving goes really fucking fast if you have razors that are designed specifically designed for body hair.
Is Exfoliating important?
Sounds like my razors are shit then. I'm not that tall+the whole shaving thing still takes forever. Though my timing is based on doing this while relaxing in the bath.
no offense but that is an insane amount of time to be showering, you can shave your whole body and face + clean hair + wash body + exfoliate in like 25 minutes
If I'm rushing, yeah. But I'm not going to rush, especially shaving. [editline]18th February 2016[/editline]
^this it's also worth noting that shaving goes really fucking fast if you have razors that are designed specifically designed for body hair.
Have I been using the wrong razors the whole time, because I'm pretty sure women's razors are made for body hair
Note that if you're pre-hrt, please use shaving cream and regularly change your razors. <3
Shaving used to make my showers take 45 minutes and i had to shave every single day. After 6 months of HRT it takes me about 15 minutes to shave and shower and I honestly only need to do it every 4 days.
Note that if you're pre-hrt, please use shaving cream and regularly change your razors. <3
Compared to what? Do people shave without any cream? And I change my razors after every 3 or 4 shaves, just about. They're the ones with the little moisturizer things in it, so if there's still a good amount left in it, I figure to hold on to it a bit longer.

Some people dont need to use anything and shave dry tho (not that i recommend doing this)
I usually use shower gel in place of cream. Some people dont need to use anything and shave dry tho (not that i recommend doing this)
jfc that sounds terrible
jfc that sounds terrible
Probably still less painful then using an epilator
I used to shave with only water, felt fine to me. Anyway I guess I will Exfoliate once ingrown hair starts to be a problem. Also my mom said I could try waxing my legs as she has stuff for it (she waxes sometimes) and she also suggested this cream that you put on your legs and thighs, leave it around 5 minutes and wipe it off with a towel, the hair will come off and it will make the hair grow back less over time. Smells like crap but it's an option. Right now I will just do it once a week tho.
Brown sugar scrub is a magical exfoliator.
i think my mom is just now starting to understand what a exactly a transgender person is after seeing a transman on tv.
Note that if you're pre-hrt, please use shaving cream and regularly change your razors. <3
does HRT cause hair to grow back slower or something or are you just talking about repeat shavings being easier
does HRT cause hair to grow back slower or something or are you just talking about repeat shavings being easier
HRT causes most body hair growth to slow down significantly while also making the hair itself much thinner and softer and thus far easier to cut.
Well. Came out to my sister on Thursday at like 11pm and had to cut it short because I needed to go to bed, and then yesterday my sister told my parents about it which is the one thing i've been trying to avoid and well, most of it came out to them. I told them that I was confused and what I've been doing with these appointments and stuff like that and they said to me they're supporting my mental health and only want me to be happy, but still hate anything trans related. So for now I'm guess I'm in a good position as the thread of disownment isn't as strong as it was, but what happens when the Child Mental Health hospital tell me that I'm trans and they put me on hormones? I'm as good as fucked by then. Guess now the next step is for me to wait for them to call me back for when I can re-arrange the appointment that I cancelled which was meant for the 22nd.

You can do a whole lot of What ifs, you can jump around the possibility of being Trans without outright saying you are due to you being confused.
