4 days and i got back to the doc, hopefully to start hrt.
Anyone that lives in Australia/knows about the australian system know how hard it is to start treatment? I was sort of hoping to start before I turn 20 this year but I've been jumping through hoops for the last 4 months and made literally no progress with doctors/psychs Sorry if this comes across as ignorant, I don't know how long this usually takes.
anyone else regret not realising earlier that they were probably trans
Massively, I'd known since I started highschool (13-14), tried acting the way that made me happy and got pretty massively bullied, moved states and kinda just pretended it wasn't a thing for years

Since you are older than 18, I don't know what happens next, as you don't need to go through the family court like you would have to if you were under 18.
United States' military policy allows for exclusion of transgender people from service on medical grounds. The Department of Defence's current policy defines transsexualism as a psychosexual condition, along with other paraphilia such as voyeurism, exhibitionism, and transvestism, a current history of which is grounds for medical unfitness to serve. Where a transgender person has undergone sex-reassignment surgery, they may be excluded on physical medical grounds, based on "major abnormalities or defects of the genitalia" on change of sex or a history of penis amputation. It is estimated that there are approximately 15,500 transgender individuals either serving on active duty or in the guard or reserve forces within the U.S. Military. Whilst gay, lesbian and bisexual service members are now allowed to serve openly, transgender service members risk discharge if they do not pass as their assigned sex.
Jesus H Christ :bullshit:
Support for transgender inclusion in the U.S. Military is growing. In February 2015, Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter made a statement suggesting an openness to including transgender people in the military, stating he is open minded about it, and that nothing but merit should preclude them from service. Carter's statement has since been endorsed by President Obama. Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James has openly supported a change to the Military's transgender policy, stating that it is likely to be reviewed in the next year or so.
At least they're trying to change it I guess

OH SHIT SON. Next week I will be seeing an Endro for Puberty blockers. [editline]14th April 2016[/editline] So, if I do go on Puberty Blockers, can someone tell me if it reverses any effects from Puberty?
Endo central. Next Friday is my last therapy session before I start HRT. Didn't expect to get seeing an endo so soon. Mostly excited but I'm a bit nervous about not being able to hide being trans anymore.
No, it doesnt.
well, it kinda does depending on which aspect of puberty we're talking about.
well, it kinda does depending on which aspect of puberty we're talking about.
Leg/arm/facial hair?
Leg/arm/facial hair?
I've heard HRT can make body hair less visible, but I think that's it [editline]14th April 2016[/editline] I haven't heard anything about it removing facial hair, however [editline]14th April 2016[/editline] either way, as I mentioned in the Discord chat, I've now come out to my mother, and I will meet the sexologist I've been mentioning, next week. my mother doesn't have anything against it.
Is the discord actively used? It feels like the thread has been pretty dead for a bit, but is discussion just mostly moved to discord?
I get an impression that a lot of discussion has moved from the thread to the Discord server, with the server being very active compared to this thread. [editline]14th April 2016[/editline] a link to the server, if you missed Wii60 posting it: https://discord.gg/0VUSjm6wsqk9HKFI
Leg/arm/facial hair?
facial hair will stop spreading and developing but won't reverse, arm and leg hair will thin. voice will cease to deepen if it hasn't already bottomed out. bone growth will shift directions from male pattern to female pattern slowly over time (doesn't entirely matter when you're 18+). etc etc.
I've never really found any exercise or fitness of any sort to be fun. Some people love it - but me? Eeeeeeeeeehh. :v:
It really isn't. You tend to get irritated by the most trivial of things due to contant urges to stuff your face.
Jesus H Christ :bullshit: At least they're trying to change it I guess
Last I remember it's under internal review at the Pentagon and they are expected to make a statement in May allowing transgender individuals to serve. Things could've changed since I last read up on it but that was just the rumors a couple months back.
Today was my third day back in school. My grandpa owns a cosmetology school and offered to pay half my tuitino, so I'm going for esthetics. I got a facial yesterday and it was great. I spend all day watching girls do makeup and get their hair done (girl talk about each other :J). Ill probably keep you guys posted because I'll have like a million tips for you guys because this stuff is super interesting.
in other news I went to intensive outpatient therapy (where you get the same group therapy that people who're a danger to themselves get, but you get to go home at the end of the day) for a little over a week before the insurance people decided I didn't need it anymore despite what the therapists said man it's fun feeling like maybe if I actually attempted suicide I would've gotten more/better help than what I got by admitting myself
How does someone officially start HRT, anyways? Kind of curious how that whole process works.
How does someone officially start HRT, anyways? Kind of curious how that whole process works.
I'm more curious about how this shit works regarding shemales, cuz as much as I'd like to be more girly without the need of a stuffed bra and/or wig, I kinda value my penis :x
How does someone officially start HRT, anyways? Kind of curious how that whole process works.
Personally, it was a lot of google searching for gender therapists. I found one who was experienced and who people liked. We talked over the course of a couple months or so and then she ok'd me for hormones. She works with a specific doctor so I went to his practice (had to schedule an appointment maybe a month ahead of time), talked to him, underwent a physical, got blood tests done, and after he called with the results I was good to go. I'm also lucky to be young enough that my mom's healthcare covers me (<25) and live in a state where it's considered discrimination for healthcare not to cover trans stuff (Illinois).
[t]http://i.imgur.com/XDaAa7C.jpg[/t] #TeamCap Haven't posted a selfie in a while, so here. My breasts are finally visible, even when I'm not wearing a padded bra.
