[x post from the confession threads] I'm not transgender nor do I have gender dysphoria and I feel completely gross for this, but I just feel uncomfortable with how my body looks that I'd want to turn to hormone therapy to be happy with it. It makes me feel like the "sexual deviant" stereotype people say transgender people are. Just feels like wanting that makes trans issues look like a joke. I'm not really unhappy with my gender or anything, just jealous of how trans people look and unhappy with how I look. I don't think I'm ugly or anything, just not very ideal for what I want. I'm probably just an idiot teenager and its a phase or something, dunno.
So, like, for instance, you're a man who doesn't feel gender dysphoria and wants to me a woman, but rather wishes he had a more feminine body?

Don't sacrifice function for vanity's sake, you're going to regret it. [editline]25th May 2016[/editline] Also you don't need hormones to appear more feminine. There are actually quite a few transwomen that don't medically transition and are perfectly happy. [editline]25th May 2016[/editline] Also I can't say I'm personally offended by your desire to go on HRT despite neither being trans nor experiencing dysphoria. I could see how someone could be though, thinking that this sort of situation would be 'wasting meds' or something but in the most likely case you wouldn't be able get a hold of these drugs simply because you're not trans.
Also you don't need hormones to appear more feminine. There are actually quite a few transwomen that don't medically transition and are perfectly happy.
Any resources/advice?
basically do anything a mtf transwoman does minus the meds. shave your face, get it lasered/electroded too if you want, wear women's clothing, experiment with makeup/nails and find something that works, etc etc [editline]25th May 2016[/editline] you could do voice practice too and if you work out swap any weightlifting for cardio (focus on leg/butt exercises lol)

The rest might give you a more femminine aesthetic, but your body will still have notable masculine features.
aesthetic is more or less appearance.
aesthetic is more or less appearance.
My point is that in the end, you can still be disappointed knowing how your body is shaped and the features it has. That can be a general issue for a lot of people, but this goes into how the body is shaped masculine wise versus feminine wise, which can't be fixed.
HRT doesn't magically change the shape of your body. [editline]25th May 2016[/editline] as far as shape goes, it gives you boobs and that's about it.
HRT doesn't magically change the shape of your body. [editline]25th May 2016[/editline] as far as shape goes, it gives you boobs and that's about it.
There's also far redistribution, however there's no bone changes which would be more noticeable.
I was talking about bone structure which ultimately dictates your body's shape.
Does anybody else here get overly depressed about body hair/facial hair? I've got pale skin and super dark hair so It becomes super noticeable super quickly if I'm lazy for a few days. +epilating is devils work because it hurts
Hips can form before the age of 25 and weight restribution is also a thing. Muscle loss makes your frame appear smaller. [editline]26th May 2016[/editline] Of course epiphesal closure might happen earlier, but who's to say everyone is the same?
My bones got locked into their current shape when I was around 14-16... I suspect my diabetes had something to do with that, and also with the fact that I turned out so much shorter than my brother (5'9" vs. 6'3"). Well, it might suck that I won't get a perfect frame, but ever since I confronted my dysphoria I've been thankful for the second part. For people who don't have it, it's the strangest feeling on the planet that I know of... for a number of years I resented "being the shortest man in my household." Now suddenly I'm reading about how HRT recipients can loose an inch or more of height and I'm like "yes please." [editline]26th May 2016[/editline] Also, tonight I was able to get my eyeliner symmetrical for the first time. I'm bouncing up and down right now over the little things. I keep looking over my shoulder at the mirror on my closet door like :badage:

Shaving is an absolute chore. I wish I only had to shave one part of my body every few days to maintain how I want to look, but I have to shave every inch every other day, less it gets uncomfortable and I start noticing it again. Facial hair is even worse. I would have shaved a night before, and my friend would make note of me having a "scruff," or having to shave again.
I literally cannot sleep at all if I can feel facial hair on my face. It bothers me so much.
It really sucks, I can't shave as close as I want to and there will still be a little bit of stubble. It's not that noticeable unless you look really hard but I hate it And trying to shave somewhere that isn't your face when you haven't even started shaving regularly SUCKS, it takes over an hour just to get a single leg done

Unlike the rest of my hair which is a dark brown my body hair is jet black with some ginger thrown in, that I get from my dads side. It bugs the shit out of me, I would epilate more but my pain tolerance is a joke and it totally doesn't set off my darker side, nope.

I used to take so long to do one leg, like an hour each, but now since I've shaved often it takes less time. It takes me about 20-25 minutes now to do everything below my neck that I need to shave
about a month ago when i said i was having my first appointment for bloodwork and possibly hrt prescription has now been pushed! it is now september 14th, kill me within this 4 month period for fucks sake
Started going to a trans support group and it's been really helpful. Met some other transgirls there and even got a few numbers so far. I'm mostly just hoping everyone likes me. I've had to go off my anti-depressants though and I'm feeling fucking miserable and lonely as hell so woo
Have this sassy photo of me [t]http://i.imgur.com/0nss0wa.jpg[/t] Sorry for dirty mirror. Didn't have time to clean it. Dad was out mowing the lawn so I quickly threw some stuff together and took this picture. The glasses are fake. I had to pop the lenses out because I couldn't see shit with them on lol. [editline]29th May 2016[/editline] also i really need to get rid of my belly fat. Only thing that I feel is really holding me back.
A bit offtopic, but facepunch as a whole is changing drastically. You should look at the dev thread for more information. Potentially we may be able to moderate ourselvds, or dictate who from the staff will for us depending on where we re setup the thread, if thats even wanted at all. It will probably be better to come to an agreement now before confusion and/or drama that the thread is known for happens.
only issue i see is like what do we even name the section transgender? lgbt? cdtg?
No, not having a section purely for the subject, instead trying to create a subsection that contains threads like this one, gay chat, life stuff, and other help/discussion threads that are different from other general discussion threads. That is, if you guys even want to do that in the first place.
The way it is ran now makes it one of the better forums on the netz.

we could probably get away with a thread in an /lgbt/ section but that would mean handing the subforum over to someone else that might not be trans friendly
thread isn't popular enough anymore to net its own section tbh, id just wait for a the gay chat ppl to fix up their subforums (hopefully a lgbt or something name) at launch and just remake a thread there id say
That's probably what'd happen. Our LGBT community on facepunch is small as it is so I don't think anyone would want to do any fracturing. It'll probably be a grand total of 2 threads in the user forum
I'm curious, are there any conclusive studies that show that becoming transgendered and transitioning helps gender dysphoria?
this reeks of "i want shit to quote in internet arguments against trans people" lmao

Anyone ever buy/try fake boobs? I'm thinking about getting some B/C cups, but they're kind of pricey and I don't know how good they are. I'm tired of being literally flat chested. I want some lovely lady lumps.
