I looked at the video's dislikes on YT and I just heartily laughed.
I just wish they'd sell/license the Fox engine, because what it can do is pretty amazing.
Fox, Unreal, Cry, Unity, Source 2, etc if it was in the same situation as the rest that would be amazing but :ohno:
kojima's rolling in his nice sony office
Guess this is the true end of Metal Gear. They had this huge opportunity to literally drown in money by making MGS3 HD Remake with these glorious models but... fucking pachinko. Fucking gambling twats.
let me suffer now
I'd say we should start a kickstarter to garner the money to buy the MGS rights from Konami then give them to Kojima, but Konami don't deserve the fucking money.
To be honest Kojima has done a less than stellar job with the franchise recently. It'll be good to see him work on something new (probably shown at Sony's E3 conference.) If pigs fly and Konami's new development team does a good job, okay then. If not, the story's already down the drain and everyone thought the franchise was dead. Best case scenario they let Platinum make MGR2, everyone's a winner that way.

He has been tied to that franchise for too long.
It makes me upset because I saw screenshots thinking "oh shit a true HD remake of MGS3" but then saw the video. I'm truly sad inside, such amazing cut scenes and that high quality Naked Snake w/ The Boss. Eugh such a bummer that this series is dead like every other Konami game.
That was more down to time constraints that ruined the story, but even then, I wouldn't want to give him mgs again. He needs a good co-writer, just like how any Konami sequels (gulp) will need people that are very familiar with the franchise for any hope in hell of being successful.
Honestly I don't get the appeal of making metal gear solid pachinko. What kind of self respecting fan would use such a device? And if its not video game fans that are using this device then they are just making a fancy pants pachinko machine that doesn't appeal to their real core audience (pachinko players).
I slightly screamed when i saw the cutscenes. This is what the Fox engine would be use for for now on :(
The Fox engine deserves a better fate than this. Too bad it won't get one.
Is there a reason Konami said fuck it,we don't like games anymore? I have never seen a company be so open about being dicks and be okay with it.
Games are expensive, require high up front investment and the margins are thinner. That's just one of the factors. Another huge factor is how a lot of national corporations work. They care significantly less about overseas profits than about local ones. As nondomestic cash often stays nondomestic, which doesn't interest shareholders that much. It's really visible with swiss corporations for instance as well.
True, which is why I'm hoping for a PC release if it happens. :yarr:
Good luck. MGSV used Denuvo for its DRM, and while it was cracked, it wasn't without some issues. Not only that, but I wouldn't doubt that they'd probably use a newer version of Denuvo next time, and progress on cracking the newer versions is pretty much nonexistent. At least Kojima's next game (whatever it is) will also be coming to PC at some point after its PS4 release.
shes got the same face but retextured. the eyes give it away [editline]2nd June 2016[/editline] the model's been edited a bit obv like her lips but they're not gonna make a whole new model for pachinko when they can just edit quiets
Not even close to be honest.
I just want them to make a MGS3 remake at this point, but that's never happening.
I want a directors cut of Phantom Pain. But instead the director was cut.
What a thrill...
If they went through the trouble of modeling the Cobra Unit then I don't think they just used a re-textured Quiet, if they did I will give Konami props for some good re-texturing but it's probably not the case.
Imagine replaying Snake Eater with those glorious graphics. Instead we get a pachinko machine. :v: [editline]2nd June 2016[/editline]
haha you can tell the boss' base model is quiet
What??? Her jawline, cheekbones and overall shape of her face is completely different.
I don't know if I can even feel pain anymore. I knew MGS pachinko was coming but goddamnit I did not expect a gorgeous ground up remake of the final cutscebe and graveyard salute Big boss being used like this feels so filthy [sp]venom stay pure [/sp]
Is this actually the Fox Engine? A lot of people are assuming it is but it doesn't really look the same as MGSV did to me. Something about the lighting or the textures seems different. They are really nice models, though, and there is a surprising amount of attention to detail (things like the backgrounds of the bosses' fight arenas) in there as well. Some of the animation is a bit stiff, but the rest looks so good it hurts - that panning-in pachinko overlay is a real kick in the teeth. It'd be cool if some fan dubbed this with the English audio from MGS3.
I hope if you get the pain from the slot part, bees actually pour out of the machine instead of balls.
I'm pretty sure it's just a pre-rendered cinematic and not actually made with the Fox Engine.

RIP MGS franchise
I think the reason they chose MGS3 is because the high quality assets were already made. When MGS 3-DS was being made, they remade all the characters for promotional stuff and even added some of it to the game. It really just looks like they took that and improved on them further.
Really though, all slot machines are sad. I live in Vegas. We have Willy Wonka slot machines. We have Lord of the Rings slot machines. We have Ellen slot machines. I see them all the time. And people play them. No IP is safe. Also, it's funny thinking about it too because all of my life I've driven past the Konami building in Vegas wondering why it was here and it just now occured to me.
i've been to las vegas i know what you are talking about hell i am bit of sucker for it when i saw them (hobbit/lotr) granted i would spend under 25 at most a day
This is pathetic.
Guys I want an MGS3 remake *Konami releases MGS3 remake for PC, PS4, and XBONE* Really? Konami is trying to cash out on Kojimas' work again?? They can't even make their own new game? #FuckKonami

They've made some very poor decisions, but if they were to release a Fox Engine remake of MGS3 with the original voice acting, I'd play it. Any new Metal Gear titles I would avoid, as without Kojima I'd consider them non-canon.
all we can hope for is a new Metal Gear Rising I don't think they can do much more than that
