Being fat and in a fight has more pros than cons. First of all, you'll probably be able to withstand much more, plus, you can just force you weight upon your opponent.
I remember a really fat guy at my school, but damn, he was like a tank. He didn't even move when people ran into him, and if he managed to get a hold of them, he would either just fall down ontop of them, or squeeze the living shit out of them.

Do you want to know why this happens? I was in a situation like this a while ago. Except when I was being picked on I decided not to fight back and eventually I got punched in the face. I was suspended for seven days because the kid broke his wrist when he struck my temple. It never healed properly.

The problem is that most kids don't know to. They don't want to be seen as a coward and just try to ignore it. Especially kids of Casey and his bully's age. They're just beginning to get hormonal and weakness is something they're afraid of showing and will be for the rest of their lives, it's a fact men hate being seen crying and all that kind of stuff. He will bottle up his emotions and eventually they will come out in an explosive manner. This probably has to do with the way his parents act at home, too, as kids often relate to their parents in how they deal with their anger and stress
