The remaster is using Unreal Engine 4, right? That's probably part of the reason why a lot of the visual effects is missing, such as volumetric lighting and reflections. Look up the redux version of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, which also went from UE3 to UE4.

The remastered doesn't look as good because it's being showed on the PS4/Xbox One and the originals are being shown on the PC at max settings. You disagree but a few posts above mine explain this.
This apparently uses Unreal Engine 4 whereas the originals used Unreal Engine 3. It looks like the engine switch didn't go too smoothly, which is probably why there are a lot of missing effects and worse looking visuals. Starting to look like just a lazy port for the current-gen consoles. [editline]lol[/editline] Whoops I'm late, this guy already mentioned it. :v:
The remaster is using Unreal Engine 4, right? They shoulda just done a Gears Ultimate and updated the engine's renderer instead of switching engines all together.
I guess this is the new Doom 3 BFG.

why is it that catwoman and joker have less facial details in the remaster than the original?
I had to look this one up holy shit that is the original how did they fuck up this bad
why would you have to look it up if the games creators told you that it is the original, in the video
this looks lazier than the arkham knight pc port
why would you have to look it up if the games creators told you that it is the original, in the video
It's really rather unbelievable that this is real so I get where he is coming from
this really isn't worth a remaster yet it's like remastering portal 2 or DXHR :v:
Is this a fakefactory mod
Fakefactory in reverse Lower res and less graphics
The only thing in the remaster that really looks better is Harley a bit, most of the others are a joke.
Some of the effects look better, like the rain on Batman's suit in that one shot in Asylum where he's looking at the church from that cliff, but otherwise this looks worst than the originals.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/Os1a07T.png[/t] is this a joke
What the fu- Remastered looks like a damn joke in here. Only good improvement I saw was the motion blur.
We're all in agreement that Asylum is the best game in the series, right?
I'm throwing another unpopular opinion but I liked Origins and City most.
It looks like The Joker had some teeth removed.
It looks like The Joker had some teeth removed.
Is this shit seriously intentional? Original has way more details on the character models.
It looks like The Joker had some teeth removed.
I don't get it. How did this even happen, looks like they intentionally tried to make it look more cartoony or something
2:34. Batman's suit has higher texture detail in the remastered.
To be fair, the original shots are from the PC versions on max settings I believe, so the remaster probably is better than the original console versions at least. [editline]21st May 2016[/editline] Still though, they should have just made it be as good as they were on PC and work from there.
but those new consoles are made specifically from pc parts whattaya mean they can't handle it? sad part is people will buy this shit.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/Os1a07T.png[/t] is this a joke
those fucking eyebrows
I hope this runs sub 15 fps. Because I would find that very very funny Jim sterling would post a video that's 30 minutes of him laughing
This can't be real, there is no way this is real.
Only Asylum needs a remaster, City is perfectly fine. What a fucking pathetic money grabbing attempt. I fucking love these games too (even Origins... Knight was really meh). Such a shame to see this happen tbh.
The only thing in the remaster that really looks better is Harley a bit, most of the others are a joke.
A few parts of Harley look better but her collar looks worse, the seams of her outfit are less sharp and the tan lines across her chest have strangely disappeared. I don't understand this remaster.

Honestly all they had to do was rerelease the game using effects from the PC version, it would have been faster and cheaper, and it wouldn't look worse than the original like it does now.
Hahaha, holy shit this looks worse. Like, they had to put fourth effort to do this. lighting is fucked, shader system is broken. Everything is just flat now, the removal of fog makes it have no depth. This is honestly baffling.
