I also have the same thing in my area. Always fun to climb around and traverse the honeycomb like structures. Sometimes there are hobo's in them though.
Sir, you're avatar is win
the orbs in the pictures are spirits ooooo really cool hobby, way creepy for me though
Try looking around you'll be surprised on what places are in your area.
I found a small underground bomb shelter filled with bricks and glass
Um 4:11 the ground is absolutely littered with footprints. Why?
I want to do this so bad.
Gotta try it out someday.
Huuuge pictures. Also, that's shit in the jar.
That's what I thought as soon as I seen it. [editline]08:58PM[/editline] Also, if you want scary and abandoned places to explore come to Scotland this place is full of shit-scary places like that. Although you may find that there is neds (chavs) waiting there to stab your or something.
If its so abandoned, why are the roads cleared of snow and there's not grass or trees and whatnot growing in it. Everything looks pretty clean.
you have a big crew. I was exploring this pipe that was like a sewer system but it was me and two others and it was wet and I didn't want to get my clothes wet so I didn't crawl through it D:
Um 4:11 the ground is absolutely littered with footprints. Why?
There are people other than us that go there.
If its so abandoned, why are the roads cleared of snow and there's not grass or trees and whatnot growing in it. Other than that there is no one in any of the buildings, as you can obviously tell.
I have gone into an abandoned asylum that started as a turbuculosis center and turned to a mental hospital and off in the woods next to it is a corrections/detention center. There is still a open correction department in that same area and some human test labs. People are still working out there. EDIT: I have also gone to abandoned houses with a crazy piano in the front room and I have gone to an abandoned Chinese theme park that is HUGE.
Also, if you want scary and abandoned places to explore come to Scotland this place is full of shit-scary places like that.
Edinburgh and Glasgow have some amazing sites. I really want to check some of them out now after reading this thread Except for mental asylums, those places are creepy as fuck
Jesus, I do not have the guts to do this,
Wish there were places worth exploring near me. I'm totally into this type of stuff.
I'd have the guts do it, if I lived near places like this.
Funny this thread comes up, I just visited a day ago after not going for like 3 months. We found the morgue. When I saw all the hospital gowns on the floor I was done. That grossed me the fuck out.
I would wish i could get into this shit, but my parents are bible beaters, and i feel bad when i dont do as they say.. Could be pretty cool.. Wait, i could explore one with my new good friend, we do all sorts of crazy stuff..
Dammit, I want to try this stuff too! Near my home we have an abandoned brick factory, what looks like a former small military base, and maybe a couple o' abandoned houses. in the woooods! Still trying to find an entrance for the factory.
closes thing I've ever done to urbex is exploring a nearby storm drain. didn't find much, it eventually got too small for me to crawl through. I don't think there's any abandoned buildings like this around here. well, not ones that are likely to be empty.
This is pretty close to my home town in North Norfolk, England which I'm back from uni at for easter at present. http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=28424 I've been there many times especially when I was at school since the place is pretty closeby, the place is massive and really fun to explore. There were originally lots of fun windows to smash but me and team of psychotic misanthropes took care of those one day when we decided to "relieve some stress" using things we found laying around. Writing about it makes me want to go back! The tower is especially fun, still has a ton of chairs in it so we used to sit up there and plan world domination, <insert supposedly evil plan here>, etc.
Dude, CT represent!
I've done some urban exploring (If you call what I did Urbex) at Hawes Auxiliary Bunker in Helendale, CA where I grew up. It was built in the 50's as a radio antenna for the Airforce and general National security, but was then used as a training area for pilots (I believe) and then it was abandoned later on. It was used as a party hangout for teens, drug exchange area, exploring, shooting, etc. For years people had wanted the thing demolished because the Airforce only removed main equipment like the antenna and generators but left the facility nearly in tact. Anyways, long story short a few years after I moved away here to Georgia a group of teens were having a party, as sunrise was coming up the party disbanded but a teenage couple stayed behind to watch the sunrise and were fatally executed, and tortured inside the bunker, as well as the girl raped in front of her boyfriend. We knew the families that they both belonged to, but hadn't spoke to them in years. It was a really sad event. Not too long ago it was finally demolished after these events because the Airforce finally realized what a danger it was to leave standing. There's an abandoned insane asylum near here. It's an hour north in Louisville, KY. However it's very popular and people have already left a bunch of shit inside it and people go in every day, so it's not very exciting. It's supposedly insanely creepy though. But lately they've started doing tours, so it really doesn't count. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waverly_Hills_Sanatorium
I'd always wanted to explore an abandoned mental institution. Unfortunately, there aren't any in my area.
