I don't think it has anything to do with race. Even though 80-90% of the people at my subway are Indian (all of then are uni students here on visa) my manager is white and I had absolutely no problem in getting the job, no discrimination or anything, infact I didn't even need an interview. There's probably just a lot of Indians because they work long hours with no complaints, and all the whites go work at mcdonalds, which is pretty much seen as the standard first job.
