Good movie, although it was hard to get attached to the characters with most of them dieing/leaving/changing feelings often. But i'm guessing this was to show the unpredictability of war, so it's not really a complaint.
Good movie, thanks for the recommendation.
wow
this movie is near perfect
I liked the movie but the amount of pure bullshit in the story is amazing. A lot of things just felt completely out of place and never would've actually happened. The opening was brilliant though.
The movie looks good. I have it in my Netflix, but I'm still unsure if I should watch this or watch the last few episodes of Pitchmen.
I just watched it, makes me think of things in a whole new shade of gray.
The Contractor scene was great.
At the end, you see them hurt a locker in Iraqi. Movie ends for no reason.
Okay, I'll see this movie, when's it opening here.
I watched it. Was disappointing. It just wasn't that good.
This is wrong on so many levels.
Jarhead didn't bottom out and get bad reviews because the critics were like "LOL NOT ENUF EXPLOZIONS K?", Jarhead was just generally a shit and misunderstood film. When you release a trailer getting everyone geared up thinking it's the Full Metal Jacket of the Gulf War, and then it comes out as a character piece, people are going to feel misguided. Also, Jarhead actually did well critically, so try again, insert more coins.
Furthermore, your assessment that todays moviegoers only want pure action is also wrong. If this were true, movie awards would cease to exist, specifically, the oscars and the academy awards. Shh, don't tell anyone, but maybe we like watching actors, to see them, ACT?
I can name plenty of movies that have either no action or loooong periods between action, that have done incredibly well in both the box office and in critical reception.
jarhead sucked because they were saying fuck every single sentence
and it didn't make any sense
