I've never disliked any episode of GoT.
i liked the latest episode, but some of the acting felt kinda weird and cliche at times? such as - the cheesy scene with the nights watch members slowly standing up one by one - the scene where brienne rides away on her horse and looks back at jaime (+ the ridiculous wide angle shot of pod's face) - the panning shot of evil daenerys standing on top of the pyramid - the 'little finger was an evil mastermind all along' scene idk the show has its fair show of cheesy moments and cliches from time to time but this episode was especially filled with them. it was still a great episode though. also i don't know why people thought margaery was trying to seduce noteviljoffrey, it felt like she just wanted to get to know her future husband and they had a cute moment and in the end nicejoffrey was able to go to sleep without being paranoid
So it wasn't just me that liked the Margaery and NotEvilJoffs scene? I totally liked she seemed to take Olenna's advice and twist it into something more compassionate, like when she tried to make Joffery a more caring person when she took him down to the Keep's ghettos to visit the poor.
I haven't read the books (my father and brother did, I only read a bit here and there but I did spoil a lot of big events for myself), still I felt the episode was strangely informative. Overall not much happened in the episode but there were parts which seemed disconnected and at the same time very revealing.

How old is Margaery supposed to be? I would just google but I don't want to stumble upon any spoilers.
In the books, 16. In the show, I'm not sure.
I'm not really into the books so I don't get the fuss, I thought the episode was fine although it felt a bit different for some reason. The last few shots and all the scenery looked amazing.
He reminds me of a deranged and violent Lee Evans.
Fuckin' legend! Reminds me of Hitler actually. And Grey Worm's language lesson reminded me of playing online with Russians. Also - I'm not sure why - but this scene made me laugh.
Burn Gorman is the man! [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/5aMRebq.jpg[/thumb]
All the book nerds being mad is hilarious. The show is it's own thing, it can make changes if it wants. Last episode was fine, it had some cheesy stuff but it was enjoyable.
Yea I'm fine with most of the changes but one or two but [sp] Darth Maul as the leader of the White Walkers is fine but don't call him the night's king because that contradicts everything told to us about the Night's King. Hell even the show established the Night's King as a former night's watch commander gone rogue, I think the whole Night's King debacle is an honest mistake by whoever made the synopsis[/sp] also fuck the show for removing coldhands
i actually thought she was going to fuck him. we've seen gay sex already so why not underage sex
Hahahaha what now
So can any book readers confirm if [sp]the Faceless Men will make a return this season[/sp]? I want to see more of them so badly.
hey i can control animals and scout ahead really well but whoops we camped close to all of these people and now we're caught oh fuck also another minute of "MEESA" and a lack of character development
All the book nerds being mad is hilarious. The show is it's own thing, it can make changes if it wants. What the fuck is the big deal? Who fucking cares that the show goes a little ahead of the book or tries to develop its own thing. I fucking love this show and I love the books, I don't give two shits if the show goes ahead with yet to be seen plot lines from the book. It makes it all the more interesting and makes up for the forever-long wait from book to book.
I heard the part in the books this season is supposed to take is pretty boring, so i assume the changes by HBO might be justified.
Let me just clarify the reason I think why some of us are butthurt about this episode "Seriously" reading GoT is all about catching the small details, the off-hand comments from characters, subtle phrasing, history, and drawing logical conclusions based on information presented to you at wildly different situations and points in the timeline. You can read Game of Thrones and miss a LOT of the plot if you don't pay attention to the details. What the show has done in this episode is to blatantly reveal a character which was only rumored to exist in the book, and by revealing this character to be canon (at least in the series universe) it has killed the speculation around it. The bookreaders love to speculate because GRRM writes his books like a fucking maze, and half of the joy of reading it is to guess what's happening between the lines. When the show throws subtlety out of the window this way it pisses us of because it destroys one of the key elements that makes the book so enjoyable to us Of course I don't speak for any book reader but myself, but that's how I feel at least
wow really glad that scene with [sp]margaery and tommen[/sp] didn't go where I thought it was going
drinking out of jorah mormonts skull wtf [editline]29th April 2014[/editline] also when did they capture ghost?! wouldn't jon be able to sense that his fursona is in trouble?
anyway the big deal to me is the [sp]number of dudes in the back & the colour of the clothes they're wearing[/sp]
that's just a ridiculous thing to make a big deal of. So stupid.
The intro to this show is probably my favorite TV show opening ever. Seriously, the theme song is enough to get you hyped up, but the fact that the intro keeps changing locations is really interesting to me.
When i first watched GoT and saw the opening I thought "hah, what a mediocre soundtrack" It's been stuck in my head ever since. Like, literally almost every day. And i've bought the first 2 seasons soundtracks and plan on getting the rest. Rains of Castamere is an epic epic song. And now every time I see the intro I get chills. [editline]29th April 2014[/editline]
I don't think it has to do with reading it before it was cool or some thing. We're just kinda pissed we got something spoiled for us because they needed to extend their run time (despite cutting out other important plot points). Its fine if they change things or whatever... I may not agree with said changes but at least they aren't passing Martin. As G19 said your analogy with Resident Evil doesn't work at all. I'm not arguing the Craster crap, they can interpret that however they want. The stuff showing (and literally saying it is) the [sp]Nights King.[/sp] Do show watchers even know his back story at this point?? They should've just shown the WW taking the baby and that's it. I guess we all thought Martin cared more about his work than this. Guess not!
The scene what have been no where near as interesting if it just shows the WW taking the baby. We already know the WW come for the babies. Ooo such an intense end of the episode scene, a white walker picking up a baby. Can't wait for the next one!!
Jesus you'd think someone had desecrated the bible or something by all these reactions. I've read the book and I'm in favour of these changes. The changes to Bran's story mean we don't get a season and a half of him wandering around in the snow being hungry, and the addition of that last scene gives everything north of the wall more immediacy. We know more about the White Walkers/Others and it presents them as a more obvious enemy and threat. I always felt everything happening in the North lost a lot of direction after (book 3/second half of season 4 spoilers) [sp]the attack on Castle Black and Jon's appointment as Lord Commander[/sp] and I reckon this will make it so there's a lot more going on besides [sp]the things in the sidelines with Ramsay and Stannis[/sp]. The "spoiler" you guys keep bitching about is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things, and am I seriously the only person who saw it coming from a mile off? It's pretty obvious if you check the lore.
wow really glad that scene with [sp]margaery and tommen[/sp] didn't go where I thought it was going
Why would they? She never attempted to make a strong "move" on Joffery, someone actually of age.
The intro to this show is probably my favorite TV show opening ever. Seriously, the theme song is enough to get you hyped up, but the fact that the intro keeps changing locations is really interesting to me.
I think the intro is the worst part of the series.
Why would they? She never attempted to make a strong "move" on Joffery, someone actually of age.
i know but GoT never fails to make me antsy because you never know when they might decide to try to push the boundaries
that's just a ridiculous thing to make a big deal of. So stupid.
uh? i don't mean big deal in a bad way, i think it seems like a cool hint.
i know but GoT never fails to make me antsy because you never know when they might decide to try to push the boundaries
Well I guess it's a reasonable worry after the "Jaime Incident", but the most important part is because Margaery is a strong believer in duty, like when she was trying to help Renly pop a boner so they could be stable in the royal marriage thing, so people wouldn't keep questioning why Renly hasn't had a heir yet, and therefore denounce his duties as a lord, etc. But they already fucked with Jaime's story ark, so you never know.
Does Jamie have have bipolar?, [sp]Literally last episode he was raping his sister in front of their dead kid, now this episode, they have a weird ass conversation like nothing happened and he's back to his cool self talking about oathkeeping and shit.[/sp]
drinking out of jorah mormonts skull wtf [editline]29th April 2014[/editline] also when did they capture ghost?! wouldn't jon be able to sense that his fursona is in trouble?
The moment I saw this scene I thought of Mount and Blade when you encounter sea raiders..."I will drink from your skull!"
