[sp] He hinted it was going to happen multiple times, and made the rez terrifying instead of a positive thing. Very Martinesque the whole time. [/sp]
[sp]That has nothing to do with what I don't like about it.[/sp]

BOOK (AFFC) [sp]What don't you like about it then? Is it because she came back to life? Because Beric himself did that many times before, from things more severe than a slashed throat. Or her whole vengeance thing? Because she's not even really going after people who've necessarily wronged her, just anyone who she doesn't like really. Since she, as far as I know, hung Brienne and Pod for no reason other than thinking Brienne betrayed her in her own insane logic. Which makes sense why she's cray cray since she was absolutely mad to the point of scratching her own face apart and laughing by the time she died.[/sp]
Just saw dinklage in the new xmen movie.
I kept expecting him to have a trial by combat.

They are all replying to a book spoiler that was marked so don't randomly click spoilers that are replies to more spoilers.
BOOK (AFFC) [sp]What don't you like about it then?.[/sp]
Same book spoilers
[sp] For me it irritates me that apparently we can just turn back the clock and bring anyone back to life, it takes away the impact of one of GoT's biggest boasts: that nobody is safe and anyone can die.
Secondly I don't like it because until now I've really appreciated reading a fantasy novel that has subtle magic, I even feel like the show's depictions of things have been a bit too flashy compared to the toned-down magic of the book.. so resurrection was a bit far, and moreso when it's a PoV character we expected to be dead as oppose to Beric Dondarrion etc.
.. and thirdly, god damn, why Cat? I'd had enough of Cat's whiny chapters, was very glad I wouldn't have to read them any more, at least if she's absolutely insane now they might be interesting. [/sp]

Continued spoilage [sp]The difference between Beric coming back and Cat is, Beric was resurrected immediately after his death and while it was noted it tore his body down, it was no where near as bad as Cat who was resurrected after 3 days of being a rotting corpse down a filthy river and probably pecked at by birds and fish.[/sp]

Same spoilage [sp]Cat was raised again because she was spotted as the wife of the man whom sent Beric's party out into the country in the first place, so they felt a small allegiance to her in a way. Unless why Cat from a literary stand point, to which I can only say it's not yet been said why.[/sp]
BOOK [sp]Not really sure if this is a proper book spoiler, but the VFX supervisor for GOT confirmed in an interview with the magazine Cinifex that giants and mammoths will be in The Battle of Castle Black[/sp]
GET HYPE
Well they have to, otherwise it would be one lame battle.

Do you happen to have a link or a scan of the page or something?

This is who is getting cast next year. Minor Spoilers, major spoilers in comments.
[sp]Looks like we're going to be seeing a lot more Martells![/sp]
Book Spoilers: [sp]Their storyline was the only one I found interesting in AFFC, so this is good!
No Arianne Martel... I bet Trystane is the new Arianne. Or they already cast her.[/sp]
Is A Feast For Crows really THAT boring? I've heard almost nothing but negativity about it.
Yes, and no. The thing is Martin basically cut off a huge number of plotlines from AFFC, and the remaining ones were uninteresting because it was basically (minor spoilers) [sp]Lannisters fuck around in westeros.[/sp] It has hardly any conflict, save for the Dornish, which is why I'm pumped for them.
Theory.
Dany has visions in the house of undying.
[sp] Winter is on the Iron Throne.
Could it be Jon Snow? I know it's far fucking [/sp] FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR [sp] But could it be? [/sp]
AFFC is my second favorite novel in the series
Is A Feast For Crows really THAT boring? I've heard almost nothing but negativity about it.
Not really. It's not up to par with the other ones, but it's still interesting enough cause it explains some other important stuff that happens on the side.
Is A Feast For Crows really THAT boring? I've heard almost nothing but negativity about it.
its my favourite book
it's just all politics and no action which is why people find it jarring and boring to read after the action orgy that is ASOS
Is A Feast For Crows really THAT boring? I've heard almost nothing but negativity about it.
Personally I love it, I thought it was a nice break, getting to see things from some of the lesser characters, the Ironborn, and the Dornish of course. Oh and it has a good amount of [sp]Jamie[/sp], my favorite character. It really seems to set up a large story on all sides, and I'm excited to see where it leads too, still finishing ADWD currently.

Book layout spoilers, nothing story/plot related
[sp]Yeah its because he literally cut half of the book out and based it on their geographical location, so you have a bunch of people in the same place, and its less people than normal so it gets kind of heavy, and to top it off a dance with dragons the first half of the book happens at the same time as a feast for crows so you get overlaps, which is kind of interesting as you see two sides but its sort of repetitive.[/sp]
Feast for crows is the worst book
Jamie: good to read
Arya: great to read, but she's got about four chapters in the entire book.
sam: decent, few chapters
sansa: better than she used to be, not many chapters
Cersei: a chore to read, many chapters. too many chapters
Brienne: a chore to read.
Various dorne guys: whut's goin on?
Various ironborn: whut's going on?
(I kinda got what was going on. It was still boring)
No tyrion, No dany, no jon, almost no arya. No davos ( i think)

I hate it solely because of [sp]Brienne chapters[/sp]
I literally did not read the book for a month because the next chapter I had to read was hers.
That isn't a spoiler. Brienne is just realy, realy shitty to read about in the books.
Every single chapter can be boiled down to "I struggle to be feminine. I will be masculine. The world doesn't like me because I'm not pretty. The men are arsholes and the women are mean. Life's a struggle". It's shit. Shit shit shit shit.
The actor for the show's alright though. Makes the brienne scenes better.
That isn't a spoiler.
Listing who is in future books is spoiling. You're letting everyone know who's still alive. :L

Brienne is a feminazi in the books? :v:
Brienne is a feminazi in the books? :v:
Not explicitly, It feels like her chapters were written by a feminazi. The kind that hates men because she's incapable of getting men.

Fuck spoilers
Book 6, appropriately named winds of winter:[sp] Winter comes and everyone on westeros dies, Literally,Everyone on the west continent is either buried in snow or ice. then dany's all like "fuck that shit, It's like invading the artic. Who'd want to invade the artic" [/sp]
Dany, being shit with decision-making, eventually does try to invade the artic. Everyone between the iron island and volantis is dead from cold. But six thousand years later they rise as draugr to fight the dragonborn.
[sp] Kidding[/sp] [sp]hopefully[/sp]
(User was permabanned for this post ("After four bans, still not using spoiler tags. "Fuck spoilers". Can't learn." - Orkel))
I liked A Feast for Crows on my re-read a lot more than in the first time through.
Not explicitly, It feels like her chapters were written by a feminazi. The kind that hates men because she's incapable of getting men.
i'm not sure how you could get that from her chapters, she in no way hates men. she wants respect from men. she's not aching for sex, she's just secretly romantic (who isnt?). i can see how you'd dislike the chapters if you're reading them from that weird perspective though i guess?
Shae is an annoying bitch

i don't think it's much of a stretch to say that everyone who unironically uses the word "feminazi" is a bit of a misogynist.

Just bought the first two books, gonna get reading asap
asap
With all these book acronyms thrown around here, my first thought was that there is no book called ASAP in this series.
Then I realized I'm stupid.
