Very good episode
show [sp] The big damn fight was pretty much everything I was hoping for. It's not often that you get to see an iconic moment from a favorite book series come to life like that. This is the kind of thing I watch GoT for. I know the story, I know what's going to happen, but I just love being able to see and hear something faithfully adapted from the books. Pity that Oberyn is gone, his character was a highlight of this season.
Do we get the Battle of Castle Black next week? Neil Marshall is directing the next episode, and the only other one he directed in the entire series was Blackwater. [/sp]
yeah we do
[editline]2nd June 2014[/editline]
[sp]it'll take something spectacular to top this though[/sp]
I literally felt sick after this episode. I'm not normally bothered by gore, but that was rough.

tumblr game of thrones fans are going apeshit over this scene because apparently it 'mocks people with disabilities'
who gives a shit about tumblr game of thrones fans
a simpleton saying 'hodor' all the time is acceptable but the moment a simpleton starts smashing beetles yelling "GUNK!" it's cruel and disgusting
Show [sp]idk maybe hes still alive like next episode he gets up like "its cool guys im fine" and they reverse the sentence[/sp]
SHOW, latest episode (8) [sp]I unfortunately read a spoiler about Oberyn's death in the books, but during the fight I legitmately thought he won for a second. I was watching the Mountain's body intensely while he was asking for his confession and he looked pretty still and dead. When all of Oberyn's teeth are knocked out in one punch, I knew he was a goner. Anyways, I'm completely bummed. At first I wasn't much of a fan, I thought he was a little oversexualized, but apparently that's how it is in the books, and his dickish attitude towards the Lannisters. After a few episodes I began to empathize with him against the Lannisters. He instantly became my favorite character when his mission to avenge his sister became more evident, for instance, when he became Tyrion's champion. I hate to say it, but the Red Wedding didn't sadden me like this episode, for whatever reason, Oberyn just really stuck to me. I think it's because he values his family (sister specifically) over anyone else's mission to take the Throne or whatever.[/sp]
This right here is what cements Oberyn as one of my favorite characters SHOW (8) [sp]especially with how it was portrayed in the show, was beautifully executed. You see how he looks over at Ellaria, he's so over-come with emotion, lost in the moment. I was invested in this man's quest very quickly in the books. I rooted for him through and through. There was always something about him that drew me in to his character, his motivation. And even after all the pain and suffering that so many characters have gone through in this series, all the shocking moments, in those final moments all I could think was, he's going to do it, he's won, he is getting his vengeance, his confession. You raped her, you murdered her, you killed her children repeating in my head, I could feel his rage. And suddenly one of the most horrifying deaths I've ever read/watched. The Red Wedding was shocking in its own right, but the death of The Red Viper, shit fucked me up man.[/sp]
SHOW [sp]I wonder how they did the effect of Oberyn's eyes bleeding while the Mountain was crushing his head[/sp]
What the hell there's like 5 minutes left of this episode I thought there was going to be a fight
...aaAAAAA
[sp]fucking Oberyn you literally had him in the palm of your hands but you had to be cocky and get all up close and personal with the biggest angriest guy in the entire city, I need this week to recover from that[/sp]
I really liked how (SHOW)[sp]Roose giving Ramsay the Bolton last name[/sp] came right after [sp]Jorah getting exiled.[/sp] Was a good juxtaposition.
SHOW [sp]I wonder how they did the effect of Oberyn's eyes bleeding while the Mountain was crushing his head[/sp]
SHOW [sp]Blood sacks with tubes going to the Mountain's thumbs?[/sp]

[sp]I agree, I don't think it was his cockiness, it was his anger that got the best of him. He's a cocky person in general, and was cocky before the fight, but when he had the Mountain where he wanted, he was overcome with emotions rather than a sense of superiority.[/sp]
SHOW [sp]ugh that Oberyn death scene fucked me up. I felt so sick and it was so saddening that he got the response he got while he was dying. Ugh. fuck this shooow maaaan[/sp]
Yeah that episode [sp]legit made me feel like shit, which is odd because I was upset at the red wedding and I knew those characters longer, and despite that this one still affected me more. Idk, Oberyn felt more relatable for some reason then a lot of the other characters, at least IMO[/sp]
man that episode was so good only one person here talked about Missandei's tits.
