I really liked how the episode was completely focused on the Wall. Really really liked it.
but now the finale is gonna be rushed as hell because it needs
BOOK [sp] STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS, Tyrion killing Tywin, Children of the Forest, Stoneheart, Arya getting on a boat to Braavos, some Dany scene according to the next time thing. [/sp] gonna be a reaaaally rushed episode.
Wow, I didn't even notice that an hour had passed until the episode was over. I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be a sign that this episode was great.
SHOW [sp]I want to see a gif of that kid after he killed Ygritte. He just nods to Jon like "Yeah, bro, I got your back!" Too bad he just killed the woman Jon loved, though.[/sp]
Crap is there some way to change a link name?
just got my hands on all the books, i was wondering if i could just skip to where the show is now and not miss much?
(TV) [sp] did they seriously just kill Pyp and Grenn. Fucking seriously? I know hue hue apparently show watchers can't be introduced to a side character without the world lighting on fire but did they seriously just kill off two main characters for fucking shock value? Like add all the silly new characters you want I seriously don't care but kill off already established ones.[/sp]

i agree with all aspects of your post apart from the last bit
[sp] he didn't in the book. [/sp]

TV: [sp]but muh sam and gilly[/sp]
[sp]hate him all you want, Alliser is kind of a goddamn legend on the field[/sp]

No you can't. The books are much better anyway.

Fixed it, was remembering it wrong... [sp]would have been better if he had >.>[/sp]
Holy shit, that was easily my favorite episode. I really didn't like battle of Blackwater compared to the books, so I was a little worried about this episode. It blew my expectations out of the water. I think it may be the best battle I have seen on television. Also those special effects were amazing!

[sp]no. that would have been cliched and bad. him talking to her before she died was bad enough[/sp]
Dany's one of my favorites. I feel like I'm the only one who thinks she was [sp]completely justified kicking Jorah out[/sp]? I know he stopped spying on her, but pretty much the only reason he stopped was because he started wanting to fuck her.
dude tag that kind of thing
also guys, when you quote a spoiler and reply with a spoiler, please still prefix with show/book since otherwise what is being spoiled gets lost in a quote chain
That episode really felt like a movie

Eh, I took issue with that too. It was nice but I didn't like how the wildlings, for all their numbers, apparently only attack in teams of twelve at a time.
Also why didn't anyone you know, actually ignite. It happened when the barrel exploded, but when the fire arrows hit anyone they sort of just slumped over like anyone else.
Also I've decided the number of arrows you can take is proportionate to how main your character is. Side character is realism valley, main character is six or seven.
show [sp]So did Alliser Thorne die? I couldnt really see what happened after he fell off that thing[/sp]
show [sp]the fuckin scythe tho[/sp]
show [sp]the fuckin scythe tho[/sp]
jaw dropping
show [sp]So did Alliser Thorne die? I couldnt really see what happened after he fell off that thing[/sp]
[sp]looks like he got dragged away to be treated for his wound, interpret as you will[/sp]
God that one shot that lasted like ~a minute or so that just panned around the entire battle was fucking amazing
show [sp]So did Alliser Thorne die? I couldnt really see what happened after he fell off that thing[/sp]
show [sp]He got his stomach sliced, fell off, then when he landed some nights watch dragged him into a building while he was giving out some final orders. He most likely got treated, I think they would've shown him dying if he hadn't. [/sp]
I seriously can't believe they're going to drag this out, the finale is going to be a rushed cluster fuck.
You know, the ending wouldn't be so rushed if they didn't slice 8-9 minutes off each episode just because.
I know I'm being optimistic but maybe the final episode will be extra long?
I really hope Sam and the dumb love interest dies soon or in the next season. I really cant stand them.

Or if they didn't shove needless romance plots into half the episodes. Hell if they removed all the shitty romance plots that weren't in the books, we could have had this whole episode last week.
anyone got a link to the new episode? none of my usual ones work.
That episode was pretty fucking awesome. But, show+books [sp]Any Stannis the Mannis coming to the rescue in the next episode?[/sp]

[sp] looked like it in the preview[/sp]
latest episode spoiler
[sp] i knew the ygritte scene would go down like that, but the fact that the rest of the episode was just packed with greatness really makes up for it
but i have to agree on killing off pyp and grenn, it was dumb [/sp]
also book 3 stuff [sp] didn't they even introduce Donal in like the first season? they could've easily had him in the show, but i think the reason they did it was to make the battle feel like it had consequence instead of a bunch of nobodies dying [/sp]
Here's a list of everything Major happening in the next episode (probably). (BOOK SPOILERS)
[sp]Stannis curbstomps the wildlings.
Tyrion escapes trial and kills Tywin and Shae.
Jon becomes Lord Commander of the nights watch.
Lady Stoneheart wrecks some Freys.[/sp]
...If they fit all of that into one hour, that will be the most jampacked hour of television ever.
just got my hands on all the books, i was wondering if i could just skip to where the show is now and not miss much?
You would miss a lot. Still, it depends on what you're trying to do.
Do you want a full appreciation for what you're seeing now on the show? You need to get reading.
Do you just want to compare what you're seeing to the books? Then feel free to skip ahead. Keep in mind two things. One, they are jumbling around some stuff, so it's going to be hard to piece together what you should read. It's not simply one chapter after another. Two, the show includes things not in the books, so you can look all day and never find a scene like that in the books.
My advice, because it's what I did, is wait for the season to be over, then read the books. By the time next season starts you'll be done reading.
edit: This episode was about as epic as any episode of any tv show I can remember seeing. It really blew my mind, the production was incredible.
