It's not that but I felt they really screwed up with ASOS [sp]Tyrion's escape and no Stoneheart I mean I don't expect it to be perfect but they really lessened the brutality of that scene showing that all of the Lannisters are severely fucked up right now, just wish they included Tysha and making Tyrion seem like an asshole to his only friend in the world.[/sp]

Oh well atleast SHOW [sp]Stannis is cool during this episode always happy to see The Mannis get his moments.[/sp]

I'm not reading the books or anything but it seems like the whole "only friend" thing was replaced with [sp]jaime, as from what im reading in the books tyrion has a mega beef with the jamester?[/sp]
I dunno I really enjoyed it, [sp]Tyrone has enough motivation which was all the shit he had thrown at him in his life. That was his one chance to confront his father. Finding Shae in the bedroom threw him over the edge though and that's why he ends up fuckin them both up.[/sp]
excited for S5 tho!

Some book spoilers in here but [sp]Basically Tyrion had a wife in the name of Tysha, Tyrion really loved her but found out that she was a whore that Tywin hired to make Tyrion a man. after that she made Tysha have sex with his guards paying them silver coins with Tyrion being the last one and paid a gold coin as Lannisters were worth more. so after that Tyrion obviously was sad because that was really fucked up so when Jaime helps Tyrion escape he reveals that Tysha was not a whore and genuinely loved Tyrion, Tyrion obviously furious reveals that Cersei was fucking other people and says that he killed Joff and swears revenge on him after that he goes to Tywin's room and finds Shae nude only with Tywin's chain and strangles her with said gold chain after that he finds Tywin shitting and demands to know where Tysha went Tywin just coldly replies "wherever whores go" and Tyrion kills him escapes and after that is next season.[/sp]
sorry if I messed up on some grammar and stuff, it's probably not the best looking as english isn't my first language so hope it's understandable if it's not hopefully someone else can explain it better
Y'know, maybe it was for the better that the finale didn't show BOOK[sp]Lady Stoneheart.[/sp]
We would've had ritualistic sacrifices for season 5 to be here already all over the place.

oh thats pretty neat
biggest thing i can say is that I guess no one should have really expected it, cause it seems like that'd have required some like season 1 deep delving into tyrions love life which wasn't really tyrions arc at the time
neat to know what happens in the books though
Show [sp]IIRC they mentioned it in Season 1 obviously most won't remember but kinda weird to cut that out since it's what makes Tyrion go off the deep end and go straight to Tywin's room.[/sp]
maybe it's one of those things they said "ok book guys what we meant when we mentioned it season 1, and for everyone else they're just gonna think he [sp]goes nuts due to shae testifying and just all sorts of shit[/sp]"
I mean he obviously planned how to get in there so he had some big motivation, maybe they wanted to cut down that arc while still giving the book readers a bone
hmm
Oh well I'm not gonna stop watching the show just because I disliked one episode as my favorite characters are in the upcoming seasons so can't wait to see what they look like.
[editline]16th June 2014[/editline]
Book [sp]I'd lose my shit if they made Euron look like Daario.[/sp]
Great season finale. And now... the wait begins.
All show: [sp]the fight "Brienne vs the Hound" was amazing, they didn't hold back any punches at all, and the Hound even kicked her in the vag! That cracked me up.[/sp]
[editline]16th June 2014[/editline]
[sp]Gotta love Varys's expression when he turned around, heard the bells, and said to himself "fuck this, I'm outta here"[/sp]
[editline]16th June 2014[/editline]
[sp]Also, if I had to guess... Melisandre either has the hots for Jon Snow, or knows something about him nobody else knows.[/sp]
[editline]16th June 2014[/editline]
[sp]Okay, one more - What the fuck Qyburn, FRANKENMOUNTAIN?! :O[/sp]
The only character that didn't get shat on this finale was [sp]------Stannis------[/sp], and I am really grateful for that. I love that character, despite everything the showrunners have done.

After tonight's episode, I'm now on board of the [sp]"Stannis the Mannis" Bandwagon[/sp]. He's really growing in me.
[sp]And wtf Dany, instead of finding a way to tame her dragons, she locked them away? You could hear the sadness in their bellowing. She's the worst mom ever.[/sp]
So what happened in the book instead of the [sp]Brienne vs. Hound fight[/sp]?
Havent watched the show yet but BOOK [sp]When the hound and arya are hungry/thirsty w/e at the pub when he fought the lannister men, he gets cut and his wound festers and shit and then he sits by a tree to die and asks arya for the gift of mercy but she is all like fuck you you dont deserve it and she rides away and we dont know if he ded.[/sp]

BOOK [sp]CLEGANEBOWL GET HYPE.[/sp]
Question to book readers: [sp]So I understand Dany *could* tame her dragons by using Valyrian (or wildling, can't remember the spoiler) magic, and even then, there's no guarantee that it will entirely work, since they're so unstable, yes? If so, my question is - how come no one in Mereen ever seen/heard of dragons, or a way to tame them? I was wondering how come there's no elder in Mereen showing up and telling her how to deal with them.[/sp]
[editline]16th June 2014[/editline]
So...
Show speculation, may or may not be related to the book: [sp]Cersei is interested in keeping the Mountain alive not only because he's her hired muscle, but because she sees him as the only person who could bring back her daughter from Dorne, right? Otherwise I see no real reason why she'd be so interested in his recovery.[/sp]

lore stuff:
[sp]Elders would be like what 80? The last dragons were around like a thousand years ago so no.[/sp]
Second bit: Show
[sp]In the books she has an entire different motive, it's not to bring her daughter back[/sp]
book
[sp]its to fight as her champion[/sp]
I'm not a book reader, but this episode just felt rushed as heck. Maybe they shouldn't have given the stuff at the Wall an ENTIRE episode last week. I mean, I liked both episodes fine, but even with the expanded run time the story didn't feel like it had enough room to breathe to me.
I also felt this way, it felt so compressed and they left out many details.

[sp]Her hired muscle (and something else that I don't know yet, for being a show watcher), then. Ok thanks!! :D[/sp]

[sp]But there must be "How to Train your Dragon" books somewhere, right? :V[/sp]

Touched on more in the books, but has been mentioned in the show[sp]There are books on dragonlore, and Tyrion was obsessed with dragons in his youth so he read them all[/sp]

[lore stuff] [sp]Since the doom of valyara i dont think anyone else but the targarayans had dragons and they only got out because some bish had green sight. And I am pretty sure the doom of valyararara was like 4000 years ago or some shit, how ever old the valyarayan steel swords are[/sp]

lore? [sp]Weren't those books by maesters who observed the targaryan dragons?[/sp]
the more i watch this show the more i realise that this show is just a really basic retelling of the original story (with somebody adding and changing things, thinking it makes it better. Not one of the show changes has been better than the book), skipping out all of the rich world building and characterization. it's like a really basic wikipedia summary of the plot.
which I guess is okay but it makes me sad that show watchers are never gonna get that "HOLY SHIT" feeling of a few big moments BOOK [sp] Tyrion snapping at Jaime & the reveal of Lady Stoneheart [/sp]
For how much amazing stuff happened in this season the finale didn't impress me much. Even with S04E10 [sp]Stannis' army, zombies and Tywin's death.[/sp]

I think the job of a tvshow like this is more to visualize the story in the books, sure they skip things but can you do better with limited budget.
I was all teary eyed and shit when [sp]Hound was dying. Even when he started spewing that horrible shit at the end, I know(hope?) he doesn't actually mean that. It was more like "you should despise me so you don't feel bad about killing me" speech, right?[/sp][SHOW]
Also it looks like that [sp]Hotpie scene with the wolf bread was a completely useless scene after all(except for showing that Hotpie is the real deal now). I'd bet good money on Brienne giving Arya that bread this episode, but nope.[/sp][SHOW]
[editline]16th June 2014[/editline]
Also Tywin? [sp]More like TYLOSE HA[/sp]
I think the job of a tvshow like this is more to visualize the story in the books, sure they skip things but can you do better with limited budget.
They did better in season one with an even smaller budget.
SHOW, LATEST EPISODE: [sp]What the fuck is this, Pirates of the Carribean?[/sp]
I liked this episode.
I totally forgot how cool and awesome [sp]frownface king guy[/sp] is.
I was actually rooting for him, I hope there's more of him next season

Lore, not really a spoiler but [sp]Uh the Doom was only four hundred years before the current time, and only one hundred before Aegon's landing. Plus the Targaryens, along with the Velaryons and numerous individual riders, had dragons up until the reign of Aegon III, the Dragonbane, which was only a hundred years before the War of Five Kings.
Most of the dragons died in the Dance of the Dragons, basically the English Anarchy but with funny names and, well, dragons[/sp]
So what happened in the book instead of the [sp]Brienne vs. Hound fight[/sp]?
Book three season four [sp]The Hound is severely wounded fighting Polliver and the Tickler, and as the two make their way towards Saltpans he slowly succumbs to a deadly infection.
I know it's not as actiony as him fighting Brienne, but I thought it was much better way to get rid of him (..?). It kinda mirrors the way Gregor died as well, laying around, writhing with poison and infection enough to kill Pentos.[/sp]

[sp]So 163 years for last dragon, 400 for doom of valayria. I had too many zeros[/sp]
I have disgraced myself.

Lore [sp]Also they had some dragons eggs as well but they lost those in the Summerhall disaster, which happened the same day Rhaegar was born[/sp]
