Lore [sp]Also they had some dragons eggs as well but they lost those in the Summerhall disaster, which happened the same day Rhaegar was born[/sp]
Is this stuff in the novellas?
SHOW [sp]Man this show really lost alot of star power in terms of acting during this season with Charles Dance,Rory McCann gone and Pedro Pascal only appearing in one season they need to step up next sesaon[/sp] BOOK [sp]Gonna be interesting how they handle Varys with Tyrion seeing as he doesn't really appear until the end of ADWD so Varys with Tyrion and Jorah? also curious how they handle the Kingsmoot[/sp]
Is this stuff in the novellas?
Gosh it's all so mixed up at this point I think a lot of lore, particularly dragon lore, is expanded by a certain characters POV in book five. Some is mentioned in Dunk & Egg (Though not Summerhall, obviously) and a lot is "semi-canon" that GRRM mentions in letters and interviews
Also SHOW [sp]That shot of Varys looking at the Red Keep and going "fuck this shit I'm out" and then sitting next to Tyrion's box was hilarious to me, so was Jojen getting stabbed it just looked terrible.[/sp]
That's one thing about the show, and it's not really a criticism, but just because the format demands it, you miss out on a lot of the deeper lore. Not that Ice and Fire has a very deep lore, but there's a lot of important and interesting stuff, like the Dance of the Dragons or the Blackfyre Rebellions, that is totally not touched on. It's a shame, really, but unavoidable.
Also is BOOK [sp]Jojen paste all but confirmed in the books now? also good to see the show basically confirming who Robert Strong is, I REALLY want Cleganebowl to be real just to see Rory McCann again he was awesome as The Hound.[/sp]

The Dance with Dragons is referenced a fair bit, but there was a novella released not long ago, and I guess there's a full length novel coming on the subject, that detailed it in full Summerhall is always shrouded in mystery though
Now that I've finished the latest episode. SHOW: [sp] Very good episode, I enjoyed the opening especially. It was a very strong scene, John and Mance sat in a tent drinking to the battle. Wondering what Melisandre see's in John, he seems very much to be an architect of his own destiny in how much of what he does is his decision. Don't know what the fuck was up with Pirates of the Carribean, is that whole sideplot actually important in any way? I'd honestly rather watch Dany sit and cry that her Unsullied can't solve everything. Jaime and Cersei's relationship seems to be back on as well? I thought they were through, but he seems to be relapsing, but kudos to him for breaking Tyrion out. What a champ. Was surprised to find Tywin sleeping with Shae though, happy fathers day motherfucker.[/sp]
Welp, (SHOW)[sp]there goes all my hopes of the show ever ending like Ali G Indahouse, with dancing Tywin, Ambassador Tyrion and everything On a more serious note; those poor dragons, man[/sp]
I liked the episode. SHOW [sp]Arya's last scene felt rather anti-climatic though.[/sp] BOOK [sp]But I expected Stoneheart so that's probably why.[/sp]
I didn't see the episode, did Bran [sp]meet the Children of the Forest? If so, is there any photos of them? I'm curious how they made them look.[/sp]
I didn't see the episode, did Bran [sp]meet the Children of the Forest? If so, is there any photos of them? I'm curious how they made them look.[/sp]
[sp]Can't really get pictures but yeah he did meet them[/sp] [editline]16th June 2014[/editline]
I liked the episode. SHOW [sp]Arya's last scene felt rather anti-climatic though.[/sp] BOOK [sp]But I expected Stoneheart so that's probably why.[/sp]
BOOK [sp]That fucking river shot what a goddamn tease, I felt that even if Stoneheart appears later I would've still loved her appearing during this episode it would've been the perfect cliffhanger.[/sp]
BOOK [sp] They missed the best line in ASOIAF "Hands of gold are always cold". :([/sp]
BOOK [sp] They missed the best line in ASOIAF "Hands of gold are always cold". :([/sp]
BOOK [sp]I'm upset no Tywin not shitting gold line or no wherever whores go[/sp]
BOOK [sp]I'm upset no Tywin not shitting gold line or no wherever whores go[/sp]
Yeah! I was waiting for that line too :( All in all, great episode. Feel like it missed out on a couple of really important lines though.
I really feel like whenever they decide to change an iconic line in the show they mess it up.
I didn't see the episode, did Bran [sp]meet the Children of the Forest? If so, is there any photos of them?
[sp] He's less like "fuck this shit I'm out" and "fuck this, I'm outta here" and more like "shit, now I have to leave." Tyrion killing Shae and Tywin wasn't part of the plan and he knows if he stayed he'd probably be killed. [/sp]
I just found his face and the cut to him sitting next to the box so hilarious though :v:
BOOK [sp]I'm upset no Tywin not shitting gold line or no wherever whores go[/sp]
BOOK [sp]The shitting gold line was great - but it was in Tyrion's head.[/sp]
BOOK [sp]The shitting gold line was great - but it was in Tyrion's head.[/sp]
BOOK [sp]Yeah but they could've done something like with Tyrion's speech IIRC wasn't that a mixture of what he was thinking correct me if i'm wrong[/sp] [editline]16th June 2014[/editline]
Show:[sp] He's less like "fuck this shit I'm out" and "fuck this, I'm outta here" and more like "shit, now I have to leave." Tyrion killing Shae and Tywin wasn't part of the plan and he knows if he stayed he'd probably be killed. [/sp] Show/Book Also [sp]I don't recall Jojen Reed dying the books, plus it was kind of weird that in the episode when he was calling out to Bran he was standing up/kneeling and looking okay and then a second later he was on his back looking weak and about to get skewered[/sp]
SHOW/BOOK [/sp]Well he always was saying he was gonna die so not a big surprise there.[/sp]
BOOK [sp] Odd that they didn't even mention Tysha; can't decide how I feel about Tyrion's goodbye with Jaime, I kinda liked how it was really conflicted in the book. Also fueled his lust for revenge ready for his murders.[/sp]

Also fueled his lust for revenge ready for his murders.[/sp]
BOOK [sp]Yeah that was really weird, the show version had a much more simpler escape for Tyrion and his goodbye with Jaime was really sweet but didn't expect him to peace out that quick so Tyrion's motives for killing Tywin in the show was understandable obvioulsy but felt simpler.[/sp]
SHOW [sp] Tyrion's reasons in the show were completely fine. Maybe not as intricate as the books but the medium is so different and it's nigh impossible to give a character that much depth with the time they can give him. Translating the books to TV isn't going to preserve a series that is deep essentially because it's a series of books and there's more room for lore. I loved it personally [/sp] But what a great episode, and goodbye to game of thrones for another year. What a fantastic series

SHOW/BOOK [sp] Yeah I agree the changes to his motives were fairly justified. Sometimes I worry that it simplifies some arcs more than it needs to, but I guess it's hard to evaluate that objectively having read the book before. [/sp]
BOOK [sp] They missed the best line in ASOIAF "Hands of gold are always cold". :([/sp]
should have been credits music tbh
BOOK/SHOW [sp]i hope they reimagine the look of bloodraven (leaf too but less so) next season, he looks like an old man who fell into a bush. they even kept the thousand eyes and one line yet he has 2 eyes lol, did they not get what that line meant?[/sp]
BOOK [sp]Was Davos sent to meet with Manderly before of after Castle Black?[/sp]
