SHOW spoilers obviously: View Vimeo video http://vimeo.com/98292348
Must feel awkward trying to pretend you're shooting an arrow when you don't have anything to grip.
Show: [sp]I loved the skeleton battle to death, even if it was short and had some problems like the teleporting children. I don't know how it's handled in the books, but the show is very scarce when it comes to the supernatural elements (there's pretty much just the dragons, a few White Walkers, that red woman who uses some sort of sorcery, wargs and now the Children). I've accidentally seen some spoilers around the internet so I know there should have been at least slightly more of them by now, such as the "Coldhands" character. Hopefully there's more in the next season, even if they are not the main focus of the show/books. I'm an absolute sucker for things like this.[/sp]
I honestly thought that was the worst part of the episode IMO [sp]The skeletons looked absolutely terrible, the fight was odd and Jojen getting stabbed looked hilarious and terrible[/sp]
SHOW [sp]They even said Bravos about 3 times in their conversation with the Bravosi captain who looked at her Bravosi coin that she got from the Bravosi assassin (Jaqen H'ghar) that helped her (and company) escape from Harrenhal.[/sp] Also, the fitness phrases that everyone was making up a few pages ago were absolutely classic. Especially about bench pressing every fucking chicken in the room. :v:
[sp]I know they said Bravos multiple times, but I thought the coin changed their mind.[/sp]

Just started watching it all. On s1e5 at the moment, and it's damned good. Why did I wait this long?

So I just watched the season finale. BOOK [sp]Still mad that LSH didn't show up. It would have been the perfect ending for the season, and that they ignored it completely, even though it was basically all written anyway, is just terrible. No matter how good the rest of the episode may have been, her absence just makes the whole thing a big disappointment to me, seeing as that epilogue is my favorite part of any of the books.[/sp] [editline]17th June 2014[/editline] Other than that it felt slightly rushed, I really don't think an entire episode dedicated to [sp]the battle of Castle Black[/sp] was a great idea.
The coin [sp] pretty much means that whoever is carrying it is affiliated with the faceless men, a most feared guild of assassins based in bravos. All bravosi respect them to the highest degree. Also there is a rule where[/sp][sp] if a faceless man knows your name, you cannot accept a contract on their life. Which doesn't make sense to me because they'd just send another, but it's still a reason to have her onboard [/sp]
Book [sp]People are making the lack of LS a bigger deal than it is. Joffrey's death was delayed to season 4 despite being originally planned for the end of season 3. Chances are we're going to see LS early in season 5.[/sp]
Book [sp]People are making the lack of LS a bigger deal than it is. Joffrey's death was delayed to season 4 despite being originally planned for the end of season 3. Chances are we're going to see LS early in season 5.[/sp]
Book [sp]Thing is it would work so darn well as an ending. Joffrey's death is big and all, but it hardly packs the punch of a revived main character with a mind to kill anyone even slightly affiliated with the downfall of her family. It's a part of the story with no comparison, while another death, however big the impact may be, is just another death. While I realize that she will most likely show up later down the line, it would only have taken a few minutes of showtime and very little rewriting to get in, and would have given us a far, far better ending than the one we got. That's why I'm making a fuzz about it, at least.[/sp]
My lord I just watched S4E1, when I read the books I did not picture [sp] Arya being such a sadistic sicko[/sp] also,[sp] the actor is 17, which sucks big time, because she's not going to grow/mature much further and that's going to suck shit because she's supposed to grow into the spitting image of lyanna stark, who was the most beautiful woman in westeros[/sp]
Laughed at the [sp]medieval Robocop[/sp].
My favorite bit was what he said about Jaime and Tyrion's embrace.
Book [sp]Thing is it would work so darn well as an ending. BOOK[sp]In the book her appearance, and her reason for being, makes sense because of the way the story is told in the books. On the show? All the top characters involved with the downfall of her family are dead, all that's left is the Frey/Bolton guys. It's not worth tv time to show her going after Freys, come on! That's small potatoes. Maybe if they bring her back for a new major plotline it would be worth it. In that case, bringing her back at the start of a season, not the end, makes more sense. I think the real reason book readers wanted that character to appear at the end is so they could tease nonbook readers with hints about what that character is all about, being smug about reading the books as usual.[/sp]
S4E10 Show [sp]Littlefinger sees the future #wow http://i.imgur.com/FYoGPf7.jpg[/sp]
That's some real foreshadowing. I need to rewatch the series in retrospective to see if I can find more of these hints.
books [sp] [arya]'s supposed to grow into the spitting image of lyanna stark, who was the most beautiful woman in westeros[/sp]
erm what? When/why is that supposed to happen?
erm what? When/why is that supposed to happen?
It happens as she grows up and it happens because she is described as sharing the "wolf blood" of Lyanna, that encourages wildness as well as beauty or w/ever "Most beautiful" is a huge overstatement but yeah Lyanna was hot as fuck [editline]17th June 2014[/editline] Basically Arya is like Lyanna Junior
erm what? When/why is that supposed to happen?
[sp] In the beginning she's described as plain and with a horse face. towards the fifth book she's got pretty eyes and a bunch of other better traits that i forget. However, her personality is also often described as lyanna- Wild (and great with horses). There's also one point in which Bran uses the greensight to see lyanna beating the crap out of ned with a wooden sword in the godswood. He mistakes her for arya [/sp] [sp] lyanna was model pretty, like "I'm so pretty i'm going to cause the current (already married) prince to fall in love with me and take me away from robert baratheon, who will go to war over me" level pretty)[/sp]
It happens as she grows up and it happens because she is described as sharing the "wolf blood" of Lyanna, that encourages wildness as well as beauty or w/ever "Most beautiful" is a huge overstatement but yeah Lyanna was hot as fuck Basically Arya is like Lyanna Junior
alright.. I still find it odd to use such certain words "supposed".."the spitting image of" just because of a blood relation..? I mean just logically even with "beauty" presupposed by genes a character like Arya is so much more inclined due to her personality to end up with scars and hair she'll never care about. But maybe I'm missing the point. No worries.
book [sp] There's also one point in which Bran uses the greensight to see lyanna beating the crap out of ned with a wooden sword in the godswood. He mistakes her for arya [/sp]
Forgot about that, thanks. In that case I wouldn't worry about Maisie Williams not growing much more, make-up artists are going to have no trouble [sp] turning her into a Lyanna-protoge, [/sp] and her character will definitely own it.
and I just got to the end of ep 4... That was some surreal shit right there.

Think about it : the point of LS is that she comes back from the dead and IMMEDIATELY starts wanting people dead for what happened to her and her family. In the books this happens fluently due to the fact it's one big slab of text, but on the show, it wouldn't exactly have the same impact if there's more than a year between her reveal and her actions.[/sp]

BOOK [sp]There's always Cleganebowl.[/sp]
BOOKS: [sp]The hound is dead. Sandor, on the other hand, found peace. The gravedigger, cleganebowl... [/sp]
books: [sp]Isn't the Elder Brother a healer anyway? I have no doubt that Sandor is still alive. I can't wait until he's revealed again, but damn it's going to be a long wait[/sp]
So, the 5-book ebook bundle is $20 on Amazon right now. Apparently it's just one big file, instead of every book being their own one. Is it still worth it?
