the cruelest death of them all: surprise cancellation of the show

Kill everyone off in one small announcement. I honestly would be in fear for the directors lives, people would snap.
Got books 1 - 5, time to get some reading done

Dario I's face scared the shit out of me. I just find it realy creepy and can't see how anyone could find it attractive. Dario II is an improvement. Though I do wish they did the [sp] champion fight in front of mereen with strong bewlas. Bewlas was like the best character. That fight was realy disappointing. [/sp]
Still, from the books I expected a peacock version of Captain Jack Sparrow (visually). At least the change isn't as bad as Tyrion.
Don't get me wrong; Peter Dinklage is great. Problem is; He's too great and he's too likable. It's hard to imagine everyone making him out to be a monster when he's the most handsome dwarf to ever live.

I think that's actually a good reason to have him. The entire point is that people only see the dwarf part of who he is. Much like they only see women as, well, women instead of equals(just people). The world they live in has these built in prejudices and we see how that ruins lives. If the actor playing Tyrion in any way resembled the monster they think he is it would undercut all that aspect of the story.
oh god
i finally caught up and finished the season
damn it, why'd [sp]the hound[/sp] have to die

book [sp]no, i did some reading up on a few of the chars, and some weird crew claims to find the hound dying, then the hound dies in his arms, he gets buried with his hound helm on top of the grave and some dickwad steals it and uses it to go plunder and rape and all that, meanwhile the mountain becomes fucking frankenstein's monster but without a head, so no cleganebowl[/sp]
not to mention (show) [sp]he had a broken leg, his neck bite reopened, dude was in shambles and slowly on the way out. yes i know an off-screen death is hardly ever a confirmation but still, he dead.[/sp]
here's hoping for a crazy-ass return through like the brotherhood without banners or something to that effect.

It's widely believed that [sp]the tale of the hound dying in his arms was very metaphorical and the Hound is actually living as a monk at that monastery. It was a spiritual death and rebirth. They also noted a black horse there that was very similar to Stranger.[/sp]

Books [sp]the leading theory though, is that the mysterious old dude is speaking cryptically and acknowledging two parts of Sandor Clegane's character: 1) Sandor Clegane, the kind-hearted protector and rarely-seen man of empathy, and 2) The Hound, the ruthless killer and vicious fighter. the old man uses Sandor's full name at first, but then only refers to the death of the Hound. the idea is that the awful side of Sandor's personality died when his body came close to death, as he began to reflect on his life of regrets. the old man, a healer, was perfectly poised to revive Sandor, minus the Hound, allowing him to live on and change his ways in penance for his sins.[/sp]
[sp]of course, it's a complete tossup whether or not this is true, because even if the signs are pretty obvious, GRRM absolutely loves to write prophecies that never actualize.[/sp]
Books [sp]It's really weird that The Hound didn't visibly die and was instead left for dead but it be to draw a parallel between his fate and his brother's, as both got fucked up pretty badly in battle and died an agonizing "death" following the fight. Kinda hard to know if Martin will actually draw the parallel further and have Sandor come back the same way Gregor did.[/sp]

[sp] So he isn't going to die, he's just going to be boring?
Shame, his angry dialogue was amazing [/sp]

Books: [sp]Quite Isle, I want to believe![/sp]
dear book people : does jon snow stop being such a mary sue duder in the near future (yes or no)
Sure does
I never realy thought of jon snow as a mary sue.
He's brooding, his intelligence is very average and he makes a lot of mistakes (and like many characters he seems a bit dumber in the TV series, given how [sp]how poorly his assault went on craster's keep[/sp])
yeah but show [sp] none of the mistakes are really ever blamed on him, he never suffers any personal consequences for them. the only bad thing that's happened to him was ygrittes death, and even then that was more to get cheap sympathy esp. with that scene of him holding her on a live battlefield.
he's as dark and brooding as something that isn't very either of those things [/sp]

Joined the knights watch on whim and stayed there out of peer pressure/social influence.
s1: [sp] became unpopular because he beat the crap out of everyone in sparring, which probably wasn't great for his everyday life. To my knowledge a sizable group of Nights watch men still hate his guys[/sp]
3 [sp] was realy shit at trying to fit in with the wildlings, almost at the cost of his own life [/sp]
book 5 [sp] couldn't see the point of views of the rest of the crows. picked a male whore to be his steward and kept ghost locked up even though the red witch was giving him reasons to keep him close [/sp]
book 5 [sp] reading that letter out loud and asking for the black brothers to attack winterfell was stupid as fuck[/sp]
