Game of Thrones version IV: Preface your spoilers with BOOK or SHOW

God one of my friends got into the show, I've watched him go through the first 3 seasons, he's on episode 4x02, [sp]doesn't know that Joffrey dies[/sp] and refuses to watch it. It's driving me nuts I want to talk about it
Book Five [sp]Oh wow just realized the significance of "What is dead May never die, but rises again harder and stronger" regarding Theon/Reek/MurderGhostofWinterfell[/sp]
BOOK [sp]The actress who played Cat confirmed Stoneheart was cut and she wont be returning to the show.
There was a lot of online conversation. I heard third-hand that you were basically told that it’s not likely to ever happen. Is that accurate?
Yeah, the character’s dead. She’s dead.
Do you have a preference at all—do you think Catelyn’s arc should end where it ended, or would you be into the resurrection idea?
You respect the writers’ decision. I knew the arc, and that was it. They can’t stick to the books 100 percent. It’s impossible—they only have 10 hours per season. They have got to keep it dramatic and exciting, and extraneous stuff along the way gets lost in order to maintain the quality of brilliant show.[/sp]
If that's true it's really fucking stupid. Book spoilers ahead (book 3-5). First they don't show [sp]Coldhands[/sp] and now they wanna cut [sp]Lady Stoneheart? That's stupid if you ask me because in the books that had a really wow kinda feel for me when I read it. Really unexpected. I imagine the show would've been even more dramatic.[/sp]
That's... very disappointing. What are they going to do? That was one of the most interesting plot lines in the books to me.

Pedro Pascal is such a cool guy
That change makes no sense, there's an actual plotline there compared to some of the other changes made

[sp]I remain optimistic that she'll appear in the next season and she just didn't want to say anything, plus LSH is already dead.[/sp]
I WANT TO BELIEVE DAMMIT
Regarding cut characters:
[sp]The only way they could leave out characters like Coldhands or LSH is to know for a fact that they won't have any major importance in the storyline later on, so they must've consulted GRRM way before they made the decision and he gave them the greenlight.[/sp]
ASOS [sp]Thats a fucking shame, how cool would it be to have a zombified Catelyn Stark go around taking revenge on people.[/sp]
Shit, sorry lads
Please tag that.

If that hadn't already been spoiled for me I would be really fucking pissed off right now.

Which is basically a spoiler to all those who have read the books.
It has turned full circle.
asos/affc [sp]why even introduce the brotherhood without banners lmao, the whole oathkeeper thing is basically pointless now too? i enjoy ls as a concept but a lot of her value is thematic, especially regarding brienne's oath and jaime actually keeping an oath too for once in his life. the next few seasons are basically gonna be OC. ugh.[/sp]
Couldn't you do [sp] stoneheart without the actor? I mean she was chucked in the river. She'd be all bloated and shit. Just get some great makeup/masks out [/sp]
Book 4-5(?)[sp]No fucking way that they could cut her?! I mean isn't she the one that sentenced Brienne to hang? Might remember everything wrong because it was a long time since i read the books.[/sp]
You remember correctly.
why are some of you instantly believing what someone said with no source to back it up
and even if that conversation did really happen it seems likely the actor was wrong

[sp]Well you never know, in the show it's become obvious that a cut character doesn't equal a cut storyline, they just replace them with another character to fulfill their role. Such as replacing Vargo Hoat from the books with Locke.[/sp]
Book continuation of discussion on page [sp]rather than assume Stoneheart has no major role to play isn't it more likely whatever ends happening in the books will just be replaced by Beric Dondarrion in the show[/sp]
Horrific book spoilers [sp] Just me that hated the concept of LSH? I mean in a book that's got two pretty core themes of character deaths being impactful and meaningful, and having a wonderfully subtle notion of magic, why would they go and do something like that? [/sp]

All books spoilers [sp]frozen zombies, three fire dragons, blood sorcery, shadow assassin = subtle?[/sp]
[sp]didn't seem to out of place to me, especially when necromancy and the undead were an already established condition of the world[/sp]
It realy feels more like magic in the books was more subtle though
Television/Book
Draugr/Normal people with extra pale skin and blue eyes with ice-like armour.
Renly;[sp]Smoke demon/ A shadow[/sp]
Quarth: [sp] teleporting, shadow cloning wizards/ men who offer some pretty hefty hallucinogens [/sp]
North of the wall stuff: [sp] Warging makes eyes go white/ warging doesn't [/sp]
There's also a bunch of other stuff there; Like dragons seemed a little more fantastic in the the tv series (mostly through the way they fly, Martin wanted his dragons fairly realistic. Actually martin was originaly going to write the series without dragons; Fun fact for you all)
Martin wanted his dragons fairly realistic.
Book three [sp]Uh Beric Dondarrion died like six times by the time Arya met him, and the only reason he for realsies died was to bring back Catelyn
The magic is far less subtle and more just rare. When it happens it's very direct and open, it just never happens[/sp]
Has George R. R. Martin even estimated when Winds of Winter is coming out?
show, SE 3-4 [sp]when Gendry reaches land[/sp]

No not even close, but I think he has something like a third of the book written and ready, and much of the rest is written and needs to be edited
I just finished watching S4
Am I the only one who doesn't give 2 fucks about Bran
