That's more of a control freak/power thing there. He can lead troops into battle.... He might not be intellegent, but he's somewhat competent.
Judging by the books at least, it seemed to me that his troops mostly lead themselves, he just picks the most bloodthirsty and vile Westeros has to offer to be under his command.
i think they should have stuck with one actor
Apparently the first guy was a massive dick. I just rewatched Kick-Ass 2 the other day and realised that Jorah is in it.

So (season 1 spoilers, brought up because I finished all 4 seasons)[sp]Is there a chance Syrio Forel[/sp] survived? I mean [sp]A sword did drop to the ground. I found him to be a really cool guy and seeing him come back would be amazing.[/sp]
(Book 1 spoilers, but relevant to your answer) [sp]Unless they changed it from the books, he's dead[/sp]
[sp]Ah, perhaps there is a possibility then. Most likely not, but damn. [/sp]
Just finished Season 4. Hot damn, what a fucking good season.
About Syrio Forel (book 1/season 1 spoilers) [sp]In the books, Syrio basically kicks everyone's ass but since he's using a piece of wood he can't actually get through his opponent's thick-ass plate armor and gets viciously murdered. If he had a proper weapon that fight would have been a different deal[/sp]

Unless there's real confirmation somewhere I think it's open to debate.[/sp]
[sp]there's been nothing in the books regarding Syrio after the first one when he fought Trant[/sp]
[sp]there's been nothing in the books regarding Syrio after the first one when he fought Trant[/sp]
Syrial Spoiler [sp]He comes back as deus ex machina with the most sincere grin ever. Fuckin' calling it![/sp]
But Meryn Trant is fine so...
oh my god imagine the mountain with a huge valyrian steel halberd
Dont get me wrong, the halberd is my favorite medival weapon, but its not really gregors style. Weapons that are gregors style, would be things like, say, a lamppost, a greatsword the size of a lance, a tree, a dead body, a dead horse body, giant steel gauntlets with bear claws built into them, or a wh40k power hammer. [editline]4th July 2014[/editline] hmmmmmmmm Gregor is a chaos marine [editline]4th July 2014[/editline] Speaking of gregor, I came across this the other week: Guess who is at 12:50
But Meryn Trant is fine so...
[sp]he taught him how to waterdance and they went their ways[/sp]
Not really spoilers, but it's got some names you won't recognise if you haven't read the books. [sp]Benjen, Syrio, Jaqen, The High Septom, Coldhands, and Daario walk into a bar... and orders a beer.[/sp] b-dum tss
Just heard today that the guy that played the Mountain will be coming to my town in September, cause there is some strongman contest. Awesome. He should totally come dressed as the Mountain :v:

I have the box set with all the books so far in it and they've all only been read twice. However, the books are no longer their original size and therefore won't fit back in the case they all came in. Anyone else had the same problem and know what to do about it? I can get most of them in but the last one won't fit. They haven't been treated badly or anything, just the books aren't as compressed as they were when they were new.

I think the entire point of Syrio was to introduce Arya to Braavosi culture and their fascination/worship of death. He sets Arya on a very specific path, I highly doubt she would have trusted/helped Jaqen H'gar if she hadn't had Syrio as an instructor. so yeah, he's dead.
Nah, Maybe in the TV series, but in the books syrio has a different purpose (and the 'god of death' dialogue isn't there if i recall correctly) . He teaches arya Balance, silence, speed and sword techniques; All of which are useful. But he doesn't realy try to make her [sp]a killer[/sp], that's her pragmatic/cold and calculating/ vengeful nature. Also "Jaquen" isn't bravosi.

I'd probably break my first with the first punch. He's made of stone.

had a dream the other night that clearly appropriated ice and fire characters there was a cruel queen, who was punishing a once-great soldier, who was essentially the Mountain. he had to duel someone even bigger and stronger than him. when the gate opened, this mutated giant, who still had some baby features, crawled out and the cruel twist was that they were actually long-separated brothers except then my brain was like, "okay, now you're crystal golems." so then not-the Mountain was this shimmering crystal giant and his brother was made of golden crystal. but fortunately, they recognized each other and hugged--except according to my brain, crystal golems hug by play-fighting and slamming their fists into one another. so everyone was like "oh shit run," y'know, 'cause of the deadly shards flying everywhere The consensus is that 1) the wait for season 5 is going to kill me and 2) I should probably eat less cheese before bed
