Well I watched S3E9 [sp]EVERYONES DEAD, JESUS CHRIST[/SP] I understand that something hardcore has to happen on episode 9 of every season, but I walked into that episode with the only knowledge being that this episode 9 was the most "episode 9" episode of the entire series. [editline]10th July 2014[/editline] Favorite part of the episode is definitely this though
This is scary
However, as he’s noted before, he knows how the book series will end. David Benioff and Dan Weiss (showrunners of the HBO series) also know how it will end, although they do not necessarily need to follow Martin’s conclusion. He’s sold the rights to HBO, he says, and while he consults (and even writes an occasional episode), he technically has no say in what HBO does with the series going forward.
http://uproxx.com/tv/2014/07/george-r-r-martin-to-those-who-think-he-wont-finish-a-song-of-ice-and-fire-f-you-to-those-people/
not really. the showrunners have a lot of respect for martin, they would never just ignore him
This is scary http://uproxx.com/tv/2014/07/george-r-r-martin-to-those-who-think-he-wont-finish-a-song-of-ice-and-fire-f-you-to-those-people/
Yay more stupid filler moments that don't make sense or add to the plot.
I'd prefer if they ignored him, they could go and bring the whole thing to the ground without spoiling the books
Right, is Arya pronounced 'Are-e-ya' or 'eye-ya'? It seems to switch between the two throughout the episodes, are the actors just not sure?
Arr-ya
I don't like the way the directors have been running the show at all, but I know it could've been MUCH WORSE. I just hope they either add filler or drift apart from the books, I enjoy the books as a completely different thing from the show and I'd hate to have the last ones spoiled in a twisted -adapted- way that is not of my liking to start with.
Arr-ya
'Arry
Arya = Are yah [sp]READY KIDS?[/sp]
Nan or weasel
To be honest, AFFC is my second favorite book. AFFC spoilers below [sp] Cersei's POV chapters are golden, never before have I enjoyed a character have all of their plans backfire. Jamie's chapters are solid as always. I like the beginning of Arya's FM arc far more than the parts in ADWD. The Kingsmoot, mainly because of Euron's introduction and promises. Sam manning the fuck up with Dareon, also just all of Aemon. Brienne's chapters were really interesting, mainly because of the perspective from the common folks The Dorne chapters are just perfect. [/sp] With all that talk of the book being lackluster, I was set up for disappointment but I came out with a high level of satisfaction. I'm in the incredibly unpopular boat that ASOS was not that great. ASOS spoilers below. [sp] My one critique of the book is that it is so top heavy. The Red Wedding, Purple Wedding, The Battle at the Wall, STANNIS! STANNIS! STANNIS!, Tyrion killing Shae and Tywin, Stoneheart, CRUNCH!, and Jon Snow becoming Lord Commander all happen in about the last 300-400 pages or so. Hell, there's probably a lot of other plot points I'm forgetting. It's overwhelming and could have been spaced out over other books.[/sp] ADWD is perfect except [sp]Quentyn, I fucking hate his chapters so much and I am so glad he gets blasted[/sp]
AFFC [sp] Cersei pov is annoying. I kinda went into the mindset of 'she's stupid, she's stupid, she's doing stupid things and I was perfectly accurate. Yeah you might have found it fun that things were 'spiraling out of control' but I found the whole thing rather predictable. Also I'm fairly sure the maggy the frog stuff means [/sp] Book 6 or 7: [sp] that she will be killed by jamie.[/sp] Dorne chapters [sp] are shit and all over the place. Maybe if he'd chosen less point of view characters for that part of the story it would have been ok. It's the same with the kingsmoot [/sp] Also; [sp] Arya is a force of nature and her chapters only get better and better. [/sp]

[/sp]
AFFC/ADWD[sp]Cersei's chapters were predictable in the sense that it would all go to shit, sure. With Waters stealing all the ships and her being detained by the High Sparrow, well, it was exciting to see it all go down. Most of the Dorne chapters are brilliant. I view them as some much needed world building. In the overall game of thrones, they are an important piece for Dany or Aegon (still would love to see him be a Blackfyre). With the exception of Arys' chapter, they all really established Dorne as a setting which is good because it was shrouded in mystery. Arys' chapter did not a whole lot except for some awkward sex. All that talk of lords clamoring for the return of the Targs actually has some weight behind it because of those POVs. Areo gave insight to Doran's plans, Arianne's is self explanatory. It sets the stage for Dany/Aegon in Westeros and all of Quentyn's stuff in ADWD. Aeron's important because it gives a lot of background into the history of the Kingsmoot and I'm sure the whole "no ungodly man may set upon the Seastone chair" that Damphair goes on about will play a larger role in the future. Victarion is necessary because he actually does shit after the Kingsmoot, with his betrayal of Euron. Asha did need chapters in AFFC or at least, she should have been in Deepwood Motte in it. Looking at AFFC as a book of enriching the world of ASIOAF makes it way better because they do explore the more alien areas. The Faceless Men, Dorne, the Iron Islands, the common folk, the faith of the Seven, and the Braavosi are talked about in other books but are not explored at the depth seen in AFFC. Really made Westeros feel more alive, which elevates it in my eyes.[/sp]
there's some adwd spoilers mixed in there

arya looks like bilbo baggins also, this reminded me that the other day, i realized that the Walking Dead's Daryl and Murrell run very parallel to the Mountain and the Hound's relationship
ever hear of a show called the wire? its like game of thrones but better
Real talk though, don't watch the Wire unless you've watched literally every other cop show that exists ever because once you watch The Wire everything else is gonna look way sillier.
though related works like NYPD Blue and Homicide: Life on the Street will suffer less greatly
