Game of Thrones version IV: Preface your spoilers with BOOK or SHOW

Only halfway through ACOK, but I gotta say I prefer the books to the tv show.
Atleast now I understand why Theon [sp]Went back to his father, the show just kinda dropped him at the castle and was like 'yeah figure it out'[/sp]
The inner thoughts are helpful as fuck for working out character motivation.
I've just started AFFC and it's amazing how paranoid Cercei is. Every time anything happens her immediate reaction is to think it's some plan Tyrion had to kill her.
Didn't Robb [sp] send him to Pyke or something? I forget the reason, but I think there was one. [/sp]
[sp]Theon was suppose to deliver a letter in Robb's name, asking for the help of Theon's father. Theon mucked everything up ofcourse[/sp]

[sp] Woe to be Cercei, a monster that killed her Father is hiding within the walls, she can hear the faint voices within them whispering to one another.
But to be honest, If Cercei wasn't a paranoid fuckhead she really could be Tywin with teats. But the concept of not being paranoid and rash continues to fuck her over time after time after time after time. [/sp]

She's like a dog chasing a car.
[sp]She loves to try gaining power, but hasn't a clue what to do when she gets it.[/sp]
I was thinking
Spoilers from all books kinda [sp]Joffrey named his sword Widow's Wail, right? I wonder if that sword will have something to do with a certain's paranoid widow/mother demise... It's the kind of thing that I can see GRRM pulling off on us, to be honest.
It would make even more sense if Jaime is the one to do it, it fulfills the valonqar prophecy and it also leaves both Jaime and Brienne with a half of Ice, respectively, which sounds very satisfying plotwise... [/sp]

subsequent all books spoilers
[sp]and yet GRRM also loves to lead us on with prophecies and dreams that are never realized[/sp]
subsequent all books spoilers
[sp]and yet GRRM also loves to lead us on with prophecies and dreams that are never realized[/sp]
All books
[sp] Some of them are so deep that they mean something else entirely and/or may not have even happened yet [/sp]
Just finished S04 E07, and I love how [sp]because Emilia Clarke refuses to do nude scenes now, HBO forced a completely unnecessary nude scene with Melisandre taking a bath rather than just have Daenarys have sex with Daario for a few seconds.[/sp] It's like HBO is forced to have at least one instance of nudity per episode :v:

Apparently they do have a nudity quota. http://winteriscoming.net/2012/06/01/blackwater-director-neil-marshall-on-nudity-and-creating-the-battle/
Why did she stop? Personal reasons?
"I want to be remembered for my acting, not my breasts"
Fair enough, considering how many videos and gifs of her getting groped by Viserys there are, lol
"I want to be remembered for my acting, not my breasts"
too bad hehehe
"I want to be remembered for my acting, not my god damn freaky eyebrows"
more accurate
it's okay, she'll be remembered for her eyebrows' acting

fuck no
she signed on knowing what would be expected
it's her own fault
fuck no
she signed on knowing what would be expected
it's her own fault
so she's not allowed to decide that she doesn't want to be known for nudity?
she wants people to remember her character not her boobs
fuck no
she signed on knowing what would be expected
it's her own fault
As Cringe-y as it sounds, I believe there's a reason for Sex Scenes in the books, it portrayed the characters, their desires & flaws and their relationship with other characters.
However, I do understand and support her decision. The desire of doing the scenes was because they also provided story, however people are glossing over the story and giving inordinate amount of time on her sex appeal instead of the character.
Still, she's freaking hot, but when people become mongering assholes who want her to still do naked scenes just so that they can see her nude body, fuck off.

please, it's not like A) they knew exactly how many nude scenes she would have over the seasons, or B) they let the actors read the books, or C) HBO doesn't embiggen their view counts via arbitrary nudity
It's pretty obvious that she didn't really have a choice regarding nude scenes when she first came on because she was a very new and undiscovered actress. Now she has leverage and could have probably threatened to quit if her contract wasn't changed. As much as they've done recasts for minor characters, no way would they be able to get away with recasting Daenerys.
Good for her tbh
Well to be fair the no nude thing was never confirmed to be her anyway, it was even after she appeared nude on broadway so IIRC it was either Talisa or Ros that was the more likely option.
Or Shae. I don't recall her having any nude scenes in season 4.
so she's not allowed to decide that she doesn't want to be known for nudity?

Literally the worst character in the show? A Character you can pretty much (Season 2-4) [sp] Skip forward and not watch it because it's just her failing miserably at everything[/sp]

Agreed.
Nude/sex scenes are perfectly fine if they add to the story and actually contribute to something. But so far in GoT (Show) its been used as an excuse to just have nudity, sometimes at the most unfitting times.
Let's be honest, there's more people recalling GoT as 'that show with nude scenes' than 'That show with the complicated story and well planned out characters'
