For the book readers (bunch of potential spoilers) http://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/2c86ja/spoilers_published_what_would_asoiaf_be_like_if/cjd15oh Someone posted what would happen if all of the ASOIAF fan theories were true. It's a fun read :v
This is probably a stupid question but [sp]Khal Drogo dies from an infectious wound, right? And Strong Belwas has a LOT of scars from cuts on his body Is this just pure chance/luck that he's alive?[/sp]

If he had some of the other people help his would, he probably would have survived.[/sp]

dany is stupid spoilers?
well she is a 13 year old child driven largely by her emotions yep shes stupid
im asking why is that in spoiler tag
im asking why is that in spoiler tag
A better question is why it's not prefaced with appropriate tag.
so drutehkehs what crawled up your ass to think that any of those posts were dumb? Or any of the other people you rated on the same page too And I guess I apologize for not tagging my post, it was in response to previous spoiler tags so I assumed the reader would already know what was spoiled, but General and Scorpius should've tagged theres. Edited it with a proper tag
well she is a 13 year old child driven largely by her emotions yep shes stupid
Well to be fair Jon Snow is like 14 in AGOT and he's still a lot smarter than Dany.
Well to be fair Jon Snow is like 14 in AGOT and he's still a lot smarter than Dany.
Yeah GRRMs ages are retarded I mean Rickon Stark, a 4 year old kid talks pretty eloquently at times. I don't know about you but I sure as hell wasn't like him when I was 4. And you have 15-16 year olds winning tourneys against fully grown, hella seasoned men like the Kingsguard, and barely a few years older than them, leading rebellions and huge armies Ridiculous
Then again the world of a song of ice and fire is fantasy so for all we know people just grow up incredibly fast.
honestly I feel like the show's insta-aging was a better choice
Do they even mention the age of the characters directly in the show ? I don't think they ever did.
i think they subtly don't so we don't feel as bad about seeing a 13yo get raped
A rape that doesn't happen in the books anyway, mind you.
A rape that doesn't happen in the books anyway, mind you.
It'd still be really awkward to see Conan the Barbarian fuck a 13 year old girl.

Truly ridiculous!
You mean to tell me elements of fantasy novels don't perfectly match up with how our reality works? Truly ridiculous!
well the constraints of the world that he gives us does at least in my opinion try to line up with a more realistic (eg: our world) element, at least as far as human physiology goes I mean they aren't superhumans or anything, he just describes them as ordinary people
I don't remember this happening in the book:
I visited King's Landing today (Mdina, Malta) interior: they also shot many scenes inside, not just the entrance, but I wasn't sure where exactly. view from the opposite side that's basically 70% of the island right in that picture
What game is this and where can I get it
It is the Game of Thrones mod for Crusader Kings 2 I'm surprised no-one posted about it here before http://store.steampowered.com/app/203770/
How come people make awesome GoT games by just modding already existing strategy games but when an official GoT game comes out it's a steaming turd.
How come people make awesome GoT games by just modding already existing strategy games but when an official GoT game comes out it's a steaming turd.
because fanboys of a series will take the love and care to craft the perfect game they want other example is the Third Age mod for Medieval II
There's a mod for Mount & Blade Warband as well that's cool though pretty intensive
Know im prolly late to this party, but finished the first book. Starting the second. This stuff is too gooood
Can someone explain all the hate for Feast for Crows? I'm just about to finish it and I enjoyed the shit out of it. I may be a little biased because it's the first book that features thing that haven't happened in the show yet, so it's all new to me. But even still. [sp]The introduction of Dorne and the Iron Islands are great. The Iron Islands start out slow, but by the end they basically become one of the biggest twists in the entire series. Almost every chapter with Cersei has some sort of plot development or big reveal, and it's great to get some more backstory on why she is the way she is. Brienne i'll admit is a bit slow, but I can't say I haven't enjoyed them.[/sp] I can understand being disappointed after waiting 5 years, but the amount of people who have told me they literally stopped reading because of how boring it was baffles me.
My only complain was that after the (ASOS and AFFC spoilers) [sp]The big reveal of Catelyn, it wasn't mentioned until very late in the book. I was super hyped and was hoping for a massive Frey murder spree, but instead we got Brienne who got killed (or not?) I also wonder why they didn't feature that in the show[/sp]
