I waited three years for AFFC and hated it when I first read it, but later on it became my second favorite in the main series.

Aw that sucks. Guess they'll have to recast.
Well to be fair Jon Snow is like 14 in AGOT and he's still a lot smarter than Dany.
but he also acts like a ignorant spoiled brat with a stick up his ass when he first gets to the Wall. bless Donal Noye's soul though, for breaking him out of it.
[sp]So will Victarion Grejoy appear in this season?[/sp]
but he also acts like a ignorant spoiled brat with a stick up his ass when he first gets to the Wall. bless Donal Noye's soul though, for breaking him out of it.
I'd argue acting like a ignorant spoiled brat is better than acting like a stupid careless idiot in the grand scheme of things, because being ignorant and spoiled takes much longer to kill you than being a careless idiot. And if you cumulate both then good job your name is Viserys III and we all know how well that went for him.
[sp]So will Victarion Grejoy appear in this season?[/sp]
No, he was fused into pretty boy Trystane Martell Greyjoy too. [sp]I'm kidding... I hope.[/sp]
[sp]So will Victarion Grejoy appear in this season?[/sp]
Book [sp]I hope he'll appear next season. No Greyjoy love from D&D.[/sp]
How come people make awesome GoT games by just modding already existing strategy games but when an official GoT game comes out it's a steaming turd.
Paradox once had a license to make ASOIAF games but it became invaild before the show took off.
Show seems so rushed compared to the books really glad I bought them
After finishing the show and finally looking up community opinions and etc. the biggest surprise I could find was that people liked Oberyn and that there are lots of them.

His cause of vengeance was exciting.

Oberyn is my favourite character, that scene where he [sp]visits Tyrion in his cell[/sp] is my favourite scene of the whole show. I think it's quite easy to see why people like him.
[sp]Can you really call it a pyrrhic 'victory' if he failed his prime objective?[/sp]
Wasn't his main objective (SEASON 4)[sp]making The Mountain admit that he raped Elia Martell, killed her and her children, and kill him avenging his sister? He made like 75% of that[/sp]

Oberyn knew he was a mere lackey and was acting under someone else's orders so he wanted to get to the root of things. And he didn't get as much of an admission of guilt as he did a good ol' dose of gloating and bragging.[/sp]
Yeah but I'm sure he [sp]didn't want to have his head crushed in as well[/sp]

ASOS/AFFC/ADWD/AWOW spoilers [sp]Jeyne Westerling is going to be in the prologue of A wind of Winter[/sp]
All books [sp]So she's going to die? Because prologue characters always die. That sucks[/sp]
All books [sp]So she's going to die? Because prologue characters always die. That sucks[/sp]
[sp]she just appears in it, gurm didn't reveal whether she'd be the PoV character. probably not. guessing the PoV will be someone from the group she's with when they get attacked by the brotherhood or blackfish's men[/sp]
[sp]Can you really call it a pyrrhic 'victory' if he failed his prime objective?[/sp]
(Season 4) [sp] Whatever poison Oberyn gave the Mountain is sure to cause great amounts of pain and now is left at the hands of someone who loves live human experimentation, a fate worse then death and if you ask me, Elia and her children have been avenged. [/sp] Also Oberyn is fucking awesome. How can you NOT like him?
SHOW [sp]Oberyn is like the absolute master of win-win situations. I don't recall a single moment in the show where he simply did not get what he wanted. Even when he died he still came out on top in the long run.[/sp]
To say they [sp]have been avenged is to blame the gun and not the man who pulled the trigger.[/sp]
To say they [sp]have been avenged is to blame the gun and not the man who pulled the trigger.[/sp]
[ASOS / Season 4 spoilers] [sp]well that analogy only holds up if the gun decided, on its own, to fire heat-seeking baby shredder cartridges, as in an excessive manner. having killed Gregor means no-one else in the kingdoms will fall victim to that fate, plus, the Lannisters have lost their best 'gun,' the one they relied on the most[/sp]
I reckon Oberyn is one of the few things to show did better than the books. But that's mainly because everything is seen from Tyrion's perspective, so he has way less scenes. There's the introduction, a few small conversations, then the [sp]trial by combat[/sp]. He just felt like a way more developed character for the show. Plus Pedro played the part incredibly well. Same with the Hound. Especially during the fourth season.

I don't know about you, but I consider that to be losing.[/sp]
