(ADWD spoilers) [sp]Is everyone pretty certain on the R+L=J theory? So many people I have talked to believe in it and I have to say I do to. It makes perfect sense... which is odd for GoT... I don't know what to believe sometimes[/sp]
(GoT spoilers and speculation) [sp]In one of the Arya chapters, where she hides near the dragon skulls, she hears Varys and someone else talking about Dany, and then Varys says 'Stark has the black one' which is probably Jon Snow[/sp]
(continued spoilers) [sp]The other guy was the guy looking after Daenarys, right? That's pretty convincing.[/sp]
(GoT spoilers and speculation) [sp]In one of the Arya chapters, where she hides near the dragon skulls, she hears Varys and someone else talking about Dany, and then Varys says 'Stark has the black one' which is probably Jon Snow[/sp]
Just checked the chapter, he never says that. [sp]"Yet Lord Stark’s the one who troubles my sleep. He has the bastard, he has the book, and soon enough he’ll have the truth." is the line closest to that, and it's clearly referring to Gendry.[/sp]
If that whole thing about [sp]Michelle Fairley not coming back[/sp] was just an elaborate roose, well done, well done indead.

ELABORATE ROOSE
[T]https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/p480x480/1002403_298600810275934_1630589121_n.jpg[/T]
Just finished watching Season 3 Episode 9. Holy shit dude.
holy shit is an understatement i love how casual the description for the episode is [sp]Robb presents himself to Walder Frey, and Edmure meets his bride. Jon faces his harshest test yet. Bran discovers a new gift. Daario and Jorah debate how to take Yunkai. House Frey joins with House Tully.[/sp]
I think I've figured out Jon Snows story arc, I know thats a bit of a bold claim, but bear with me here, because I think I've nailed it. WALL O TEXT INBOUND Alternatively, you can read it here where it isn't an eyesore (BOOK 5 SPOILERS/WHOLE SERIES SPECULATION) [sp]Jon Snow is a Campbellian Hero, and we are currently at the beginning of the Apotheosis portion. For those of you who aren't familiar with Joseph Campbell's Monomyth, here is a handy dandy guide to it. Now, the major points to be noted first off is that the Wall is representative of the unknown world, the special world, and everywhere else in westeros is the known world. Now, some of you will immediately be able to connect which points line up, but for the rest, I will explain each detail. First, we have the Ordinary world and the Call to Adventure, here Jon Snow goes with his father to become a member of the nights watch, as is his duty. This is self explanatory enough. Next, we have the Refusal of the Call, these are all of the various times Jon is at odds with the rest of the nights watch, and immediately hates it, before a number of mentors come along, Donal Noye and the other men of the nights watch, as well as Tyrion. The Supernatural Aid comes when Jon is given Longclaw, one of the few "magical" objects left in westeros. The Crossing the Threshold comes when Jon goes out ranging for the first time. The Belly of the Whale is when he fully commits to Qhorin's plan, and kills him in order to become a member of the wildlings. The Road of Trials are the various things he must do while going about with the Wildlings, climbing the wall, killing Qhorin, outwitting Mance. Here is where George get's a liiittle tricky, both The Temptress and The Goddess are Ygritte, as she both is a loving aid to him, and tempts him away from his duty. Thus, his Atonement with the Father is when he becomes the leader of the Nights Watch, and balances all three of his duties to his “Fathers”, to Ned, with his guilt over not being at winterfell, to Jeor, with ruling the nights watch, and to Mance, with giving the Wildlings a safe place to stay. Now, his Apotheosis is where Jon Snow recklessly tries and leaves the Nights Watch, only to be shut down immediately, and is killed.[/sp]
Book 5 in response to Funk Dog - [sp]Longclaw is magical? And I would have pegged his direwolf as the supernatural aid.[/sp]
Book 5 in response to Funk Dog - [sp]Longclaw is magical? And I would have pegged his direwolf as the supernatural aid.[/sp]
Semi-magical... and I think you might be right, but it's a little out of order then.
Semi-magical... and I think you might be right, but it's a little out of order then.
(book 5 and future books spoilers/speculation) [sp]Can't 'magical' refer to the fact that it's Valarian steel? Also, I read somewhere that Jon may still be alive[/sp]
(book 5 and future books spoilers/speculation) [sp]Can't 'magical' refer to the fact that it's Valarian steel? Also, I read somewhere that Jon may still be alive[/sp]
Well the monomyth doesn't end at (Book 5/whole series speculation) [sp]Apotheosis. And speculation! Ultimate Boon is being freed of his duty to the nights watch, as in death, their watch ends, in addition, I believe he will be told of his heritage somehow. Now, the Refusal of the Return is when Jon will flip flop some more, and will try to stay with the nights watch, despite the fact that he cannot, and that he now has MUCH bigger duties. And thus, we are at Magic Flight, where Jon must escape from the forces that want to kill him, namely, p much everyone at this point. The Rescue From Without section is where forces higher than him will fight for him to stay alive. Dany and her Dragons, Targ allied people fighting for him. Here, Jon will Cross the Return Threshold, and finally accept his place, and fight for his spot on the throne. Now he is the Master of Two Worlds, hell, master of three really, both in touch with the common people, the wildlings, and the nobility. Able to mingle with all, in touch with what the common people need, as well as having an esteemed heritage to back up his nobility, he will gain the popular support of the people rather easily. With the Freedom to Live, he will show that he does not fear death by taming one of Danys Dragon's himself, and becoming King of the Iron Throne.[/sp]
Going to go see Kristian Nairn (Hodor) at a club gig tomorrow at my Uni. If I can i'll grab a photo with him but I doubt it with the crowds. He's Djing a headphone disco.

I'll try to if I can get past all the sweaty students
Hodor's actor is fucking massive, like you don't realize how huge he is untill you see photos of him with other people. He's taller then Gregor's latest actor.
I have some blurry pics but the video will do. Don't judge the camera work I was off my tits and I later got spiked in the night and almost required an ambulance. Couldn't walk, major ket legs. But yeah he's big.
Perfect video title :v:
speaking of the mountain, i always wondered why it was so hard to keep a single actor for the role, especially when he has less screen time than almost everyone else on the show. that first dude was perfect imo.
Probably that very reason. Having little screen time means the actor isn't going to be paid all that much, and isn't going to be locked into a giant contract because of his little importance. People got shit to do and between the long down-time sign on with other productions to keep the money coming in and building their catalog of work. GoT is cool, but little-known or completely unknown or irrelevant (in the entertainment business) people can't sit for half a year waiting for their weeks worth of scenes in a TV show.

Game of Thrones was a much bigger hit than anyone thought but it is nothing compared to Harry Potter in those terms.

I mean if you said "Winter is Coming" like 5-6 years ago nobody would have a clue what the hell you were talking about, but now everyone knows [editline]25th September 2014[/editline] Its just its more mature audience thats kept it from reaching the broader audience that HP did
