book 5 [sp]victarion is a murderer and a rapist and i really cant see dany agreeing to marry him, even if his fleet helps them defeat the yunkai. however, he does have that dragonbinder horn, so he might be able to force her.[/sp]
Episode 8:
[sp]Did that sword shattering effect look bad to anyone else?[/sp]
Made up for since [sp]the Other breaking into ice shards right afterwards looked pretty great.[/sp]
go ser piggy
The sound that the Wight made.
Holy shit.
[sp]so was that not a white walker? I thought that's what those things were. there are so many factions i get confused.[/sp]

[sp]I thought he was quite the romantic, to be honest. After burning those women as a tribute to the red god, he thought to himself "Why take candles when you have the sun ahead of you?", referring to saving himself for Dany instead of taking those women for himself[/sp]

[sp]iirc one type is basically a necromancer, the rest are the zombies they raise[/sp]
Up there with episode 4 and 5 as best of season 3 so far.

[sp]White Walkers are nicknames for The Others but they decided to change their official name to White Walkers in the series and changed their look to weird ass husky zombies so you can't tell the difference between them and the Wights. Why they made that stupid decision I don't know cause it goes against their description and setup. The Wights are anyone who falls against The Others.
As even described by GRRM: 'The Others are not dead. They are strange, beautiful… think, oh… the Sidhe made of ice, something like that… a different sort of life… inhuman, elegant, dangerous.' When you think of The Others as they are supposed to be originally, think mystical and mysterious ice elves/humans that you shouldn't be fucking with. [/sp]

[sp]"burns those women" - that's exactly what im talking about. "saving himself"? he then goes below deck and fucks the dusky woman or whatever she's called. pretty terrible person, but then again all ironborn are.[/sp]

[sp]victarion is badass. has a set of principles, respects his enemies, doesn't care about drowning in his armor yolo, always got fucked over by euron, finally decides to take something for himself and marry dany. top tier ironborn.[/sp]
Book Five [sp]Plus he technically fulfilled his vows to the Watch and he can now take up his role as Robb's heir, as soon as Galbart Glover or Maege Mormont poke out[/sp]
[sp]I don't think "technically" is sufficient here, especially with Jon himself. Next they're going to let all their Ironborn members leave after drowning themselves once.[/sp]

[sp]He's totally being played by Euro, he won't claim anything[/sp]

in the prologue of the first book, ser royce's sword shatters and his half face is practically blown off from the steel shards
[sp]why didn't that happen to sam[/sp]

Not really, he's [sp] a fucking reward who allows himself to be manipulated by Euron ever after being determined not to. And now he's being played by that red priest, too. [/sp]
Episode 8:
[sp]So I take it the blade Ser Piggy used is particularly good at killing those White Walkers?[/sp]
Is the episode good? Can't watch till I get home. Is it big compared to the last few?
Episode 8:

[sp]Its made of obsidian (they call it dragonglass) and its basically the only thing that hurts white walker except for fire[/sp]

[sp]Manipulated by Euron how? He was ordered to go get Dany, so that Euron could marry her, IIRC. Instead he's going to do it himself. And I really don't think he cares what the red priest wants, so long as he himself can get what he wants (ie. Dany)[/sp]

[sp]Euron knows Victarion hates him, why the hell would he leave one of his most important plans in the hands of a person who is likely to fuck it all up?[/sp]
[sp]Euron knows Victarion hates him, why the hell would he leave one of his most important plans in the hands of a person who is likely to fuck it all up?[/sp]
[sp]I figured because Euron thinks that Victarion remains loyal even though he hates him. Like after he fucked his wife, Victarion killed her but did nothing to Euron. But yeah okay, Euron was shown as remarkably smart. I still think Victarion is badass, even if he is being played.[/sp]
[sp]Euron knows Victarion hates him, why the hell would he leave one of his most important plans in the hands of a person who is likely to fuck it all up?[/sp]
[sp]I think Euron believes Victarion "knows his place". Their interactions together show Euron always making slights against Victarion, but him not responding. This is the first time Victarion is "fighting back" against his brother.
And he's possibly the most badass character in the entire series.[/sp]
Besides, who else could he trust the mission to?
And he's possibly the most badass character in the entire series.[/sp]
Naw, dat be Tywin. At least the Charles Dance version. Perfect actor for the role.

Interesting.. [sp]Is it just me or did the white walker seem.. surprised he had such a blade?[/sp]
how it pains me that we will never see this scene because it's a flashback (not really any spoilers):
Old Merryweather had been nattering about raising the duty on wine when Lord Rykker said, "If we need gold, His Grace should sit Lord Tywin on his chamber pot." Aerys and his lickspittles laughed loudly, whilst Father stared at Rykker over his wine cup. Long after the merriment had died that gaze had lingered. Rykker turned away, turned back, met Father's eyes, then ignored them, drank a tankard of ale, and stalked off red-faced, defeated by a pair of unflinching eyes.
Tywin is pretty damn cool, but I think Victarion gets the most-badass award - but only by the slightest of margins.
Especially with [sp]half his one arm smoking all the time now.[/sp] (b5)
