Game of Thrones version IV: Preface your spoilers with BOOK or SHOW

Epidode 8 [sp]Tyrion putting Joffrey in his place was too good. I like how the ugliest, most disrespected people in Kings Landing are the ones that keep saving Sansa from rape.[/sp]
Do you think that's why [sp]joffrey left her alone?[/sp] I couldn't tell if that was a serious threat or if he was just being a cock as usual
Holy hell, Tyrion when [sp]he puts the knife in the table and threatens Joffrey. The amount of anger in his voice is glorious.[/sp]
Also, what major events will we probably be getting this season?[sp] Red Wedding? Joffrey getting his snotty ass murdered?[/sp]
Also, [sp]Khaleesi nips[/sp] this week, not bad.

Future seasons spoiler: [sp]Red wedding. I'm guessing Joffrey's death will be early season 4, in a surprise-this-major-death didn't-happen-in-episode 9 moment, with episode 9 being reserved for Tywin maybe.[/sp]

[sp]Reserved for Tywin in what way?[/sp]
Last half of season four is the beginning of Book 4/5
SE3EP9 spoilers [sp]God I love Stannis-Davos scenes. They're always great. Also, I guess they amalgamated the Stormcrows and the Second Sons? Oh well, I'll miss Brown Ben Plumm[/sp]
Book 5 Spoilers
[sp]They made it very obvious it was Quentyn. In fact, he had to die to fulfill Mirri's prophecy so Dany can be fertile again. "When Mountains blow in the breeze" refers to The Mountain dying, and "When the Sun rises in the West and sets in the East" refers to how Quentyn (whose sigil is the sun) came from the West and died in the East. "When the seas go dry" is achieved when Dany notes the Dothraki grass (aka, the Dothraki sea) is all dried up due to winter.[/sp]
Somewhat minor point, but:
Book 5 Spoilers and future book speculation
[sp]I think it's more likely that the mountains that blow in the breeze are actually the pyramids of Meereen which, if I remember rightly, have been pretty torn up by the rampant dragons. It makes more sense for them to be part of the prophesy as everything else thus far (Quentyn, Dothraki sea) has been something that Dany has experienced herself, and so can put two and two together reasonably in her head.[/sp]

I thought Titus Pullo from Rome would've made a great Victarion

Well since he's been with HBO before, there's a good chance he could get cast as Victarion provided he accepts the role, especially if enough fans support the decision to cast him, if I recall some of the actors playing some of the characters now actually got cast thanks to some recommendations by the fans.

But I do think Ray Stevenson would make a good Victarion. Lets hope he does get the part.

Nah him and the bloke who played Lucius have come out and said they'd not work with HBO again because they felt shafted after getting cancelled, supposedly in favour of Game of Thrones.

How stupid - what more of Rome could they have done, they charted it right up til augustus's victory
none of the other actors seem to have had this problem

He's a brilliant actor. Made season 7 of Dexter worth watching.
the actor who played Vorenus would make a good oberyn martell
and Pullo a good greyjoy

I guess they had actually planned out a couple more seasons but HBO pulled their funding early in Season 2 and axed the show. Honestly the ending did feel a little rushed.

Oh they had planned as far as Jesus showing up but the show was too expensive

that wedding scene was a fucking awesome bit of tv - loved it
[sp]Hopefully Edmure's wedding will be more exciting[/sp]
[editline]20th May 2013[/editline]
I kinda doubt it though
edmures weddings sounds boring

Probably had to do with the fact the two of them were pretty much the main focus during the show at the time.

That would be rather dumb since future seasons would go beyond their time anyway.

Pretty much, I still hope they do change their minds, I mean, it's not like Game of Thrones would suffer the same fate as Rome.
So, since we're getting near the end of this season, what do you think the next season will introduce.
I'm thinking the Martells will come into quickly, we'll probably have to introduce more than just one of them seeing as about a quarter of the 4th book is devoted to them.
After all it would be a little jarring to have all of those new characters all of the sudden.
Made up for since [sp]the Other breaking into ice shards right afterwards looked pretty great.[/sp]
Agreed, about that though:
[sp]Did Sam intentionally forget to pick that obsidian dagger back up? You'd think one would want to keep something like that, or did I miss him picking it up? I'm pretty sure he didn't. Or does the blade only have like a one-time effectiveness, I don't know, maybe it's just Sam failing at one job as usual.[/sp]

Next season is going to be the second half of the 3rd book. Martells weren't introduced until the fourth, so you would have to wait for the 5th season for them.

[sp]He was probably so shaken up by the experience that he completely forgot about it and flight was his only thing on his mind at the time afterward. That's how it was in the book iirc. He later regretted not picking it back up when reflecting on the moment.[/sp]
Well that scene with Melisandre was possibly the quickest I've ever gained and lost a boner.
that wedding scene was a fucking awesome bit of tv - loved it
Never have I wanted to strangle Joffrey more than [sp]when he took the mini-ladder away and laughed at Tyrion when he found himself in a bit of a bind. Eat shit and die.[/sp]

ASOS: [sp]Err no, the Martells are introduced in the second half of Storm of Swords, a party of them arrives at King's Landing for Joffrey's wedding [/sp]
