Who's gonna explain it to him this time? I can never get it through his thickhead.
I'm a little further along with GoT (Rate me lates?)
The red lady appearing at the brotherhood without banners... what the fuck?
Hmmm... I think the show producers are jumping a bit when concerning arya.
book 3 was about developing her relations with others. Instead the Show gets rid of all her lovely gendry scenes and replaces them with archery.
They had to get Gendry with Melisandre because he's a replacement for Edric Storm.

Don't have to be a dick about it.
he just doesn't understand what budget for a show is

I know what it is
it's that thing the show creators use to strangle our dreams and hopes with

book spoilers:
[sp]I don't think Jaimie will die. He is prophesied to kill Cersei (Cersei still thinks its Tyrion).[/sp]
Noe
book 5 / 6 spoilers and speculation
[sp]The "Little Brother" will kill her. The Hound is a little brother. The Hound will be the Seven's champion at her trial by combat (with the Mountain / Ser Robert being her champion). The Hound wins and Cersei is put to death.

so i just finished season 2 and im confused about 2 things , [sp] what happened with the whole winterfell situation? why did theon's men knock him out and what happened to the "500 northmen"? also, why did that one old dude (forgot his name) attack jon when they were being held hostage by the wildlings?[/sp]
Speculation, but I'll spoiler it anyway so don't click if you've not read all 5 books:
[sp]Dany will kill Khal Jhaqo and gain his khalasar with Drogon, and lead them back to Mereen to break the siege with the help of Victarion (or at least the red priest and the ironborn army). They'll use his ships to travel to Westeros (maybe Dany will promise to marry Victarion after they've won the throne or something). Word will reach Euron of what has happened and he will send out a fleet to attack Victarion, but they won't succeed. Dany will reach Westeros (perhaps she will first go with Victarion to the Iron Islands).
Jon will be revived by Melisandre and have those who betrayed him executed. At some point the others will march on the wall, and will succeed in breaking through. The rest of the Night's Watch (including Jon) will retreat to Winterfell (which has been newly secured by Stannis after defeating the Boltons in Ramsay's absence). They will spend a lot of time besieged in Winterfell.
The word screamed by Brienne is "Jaime", and she is now working under orders from Catelyn. She convinces Jaime to go with her to where they are hiding, and Jaime is killed by Catelyn's men. Brienne is then either free to go, or put to the sword, or sent off to find Sansa once more.
Petyr's plan to have Sansa reclaim the North will for the most part be ignored, and tensions between the two will lead Sansa to kill Petyr. She will end up marrying Harry the heir and become lady of the Vale.
Dany and her dragons will break the siege on Winterfell by exploiting the Others' primary weakness of fire, but the Others will be marching across Westeros elsewhere. Jon and Dany will unite, but for different reasons (Dany wants to conquer Westeros, Jon wants to protect the realm).
Aegon/Young Griff will learn of Dany's arrival in Westeros, and will either attempt to attack her (as he believes he has the better claim to the throne) or join forces to conquer Westeros. This will all depend on how the dragons react to the presence of another Targaryen (if he is indeed Rhaegar's true son).
The business in the Citadel will be of little consequence to the main plot, rather the faceless man is just there to assassinate a key maester, and the corruption of the citadel will be Sam's main danger in the next few books.[/sp]
And that's about as far as I got before I realised how fruitless a task this is. My ultimate mega-prediction for the end of the series is [sp]Dany and Jon (and their armies) save King's Landing from the Others, destroy the Red Keep (and the Tyrell/Lannister rule), Dany will claim the throne for herself and Jon will either die during the battle (for good) or return to the Wall to continue his watch.[/sp]
I guess this is why I'm not an author, but I don't think all the characters will have 100% complete story arcs (for instance, I think [sp]Arya's story is pretty much done, and she just lives out the rest of her life as a faceless woman[/sp]).
Nah
[sp] your Dany stuff is pretty much what I think, apart from the Euron not expecting Victarion to try and steal Dany. Euron is smarter than that. He probably factored that in. Plus, I'm pretty sure Barristan and the Unsullied will be able to smash the Yunkish host with the help of the Iron Fleet without Dany.
Jon will live on through Ghost (else why have the Varamyr prologue explaining Warg deaths?) and Melis will revive him, drawing power from the Wall and removing the safeguards against the Others. Jon will probably wash his hands of the nights watch.
Brienne screamed Sword. She will probably change her mind when her and Jaime reach Stoneheart, she will allow Jaime to escape giving her life for him holding off the outlaws. Maybe Jaime will help her, but I doubt it.
Sansa will kill Littlefinger, yes, but she will become the lady of the north or will die. She won't settle for the Vale.
The Others are probably secretly the good guys (Ice preserves, fire consumes) and Bran and Bloodraven will champion them against Dany and her dragons
Aegon will probably try to kill Dany and take her dragons after taking Storms End, pride will be his downfall, as it was Rhaegars.
The citadel stuff will probably be important, what with Sarella being there and stuff. It will probably factor into the Dornish Plan.
I disagree with you about Arya - she will probably be kicked out of her training after Needle is discovered and come back to Westeros, find Nymeria and join up with Jon or Rickon [/sp]
But who knows but GRRM?
Of course with this, we have left out many important factors including [sp] the Faith's army, Stannis, Cersei, Howland Reed, and the overall final battle between Ice and Fire [/sp]

Robb promised safe passage to any ironborn who surrendered and returned home, so Theon's men knocked him out and left him there. The old dude is Qhorin Halfhand, and he basically sacrificed himself to allow Jon to become a spy/saboteur amongst the wildlings.

[sp]I find this slightly hard to believe as Bran is with the Children of the Forest and I'm pretty sure they fought against the Others with the First Men, unless that story was completely false or distorted as most myths in the story seem to be.[/sp]
I started book one, and just hearing the characters' thoughts and feelings, along with all of the added minute details has me enthralled already. Even after watching the show.

He brings up a good point though, what if the others could be commanded somehow?
He brings up a good point though, what if the others could be commanded somehow?
They aren't some mindless zombies or tamable animals.
I think there's an unseen leader of the Others that will be revealed at very late in the series.

Not to mention what you just said completely ignores the post you were responding to.
Just because they say they're good doesn't mean they're actually good. I mean, they make ADWD [sp]Bran eat Jojen, and Bloodraven just.. I don't know, I don't trust him. [/sp]
Today is going to be a great day for Game of Thrones, everyone loves weddings, I sure do.
I'm looking forward to today's episode but I think next season will be even better.

Book 5 Spoilers [sp]Bran didn't eat Jojen. Jojen's already mentioned his "fate," and it's not being turned into stew. His fear is what'll happen on the return trip to Greywater March.[/sp]

While you guys enjoy this episode I'll be crawling around in the mud in the middle of nowhere till Friday. Air force exercises, yay :suicide:
Book 3 spoilers:
[sp]I'm hoping Coldhands makes an appearance at some point in the final 2 episodes. It would be cool to see how they make him look in the show.[/sp]

Aka snip that.

Wedding? What wedding? Oh, you mean the Red Wedding that happens this episode where the Freys betray Robb Stark and kill him, his army and most of his bannermen with the help of Roose Bolton?
